Chapter 6

Ninth Junior Sister was an extremely reasonable person.

Just last month, when the Wanjian Sect came to borrow spirit stones again, she had first spoken very politely with the Wanjian Sect’s Sect Master. Borrow and repay, and borrowing again is never hard.

It was the Wanjian Sect’s Sect Master who had gotten used to treating the Cangshan Sect like an easy mark. He refused to repay what he owed and still had the nerve to ask for more. Only then had Ninth Junior Sister taken action and chased him through nine streets while beating him up.

So, with Shizun currently in seclusion…

She was also very politely standing outside the formation, reasoning with Shizun first.

She said, “Shizun, admit it. You actually like me too.”

She said, “Shizun, come out. Facing the problem is the only way to solve it.”

She said, “Shizun, everyone knows the Dao of Ruthlessness in cultivation novels exists to be broken.”

Unfortunately, Shizun played deaf and mute inside the Cangyuan Formation, and even turned his back on her entirely.

So she sharpened her tone and said again, “Wuxian, I’ll give you three counts. If you don’t come out, don’t blame me for not giving you face.”

After saying that, she really did start counting.

I looked at Ninth Junior Sister approvingly and gave her a thumbs-up.

My thumb was only halfway up when I saw her form a hand seal, draw a translucent longsword from her Qiankun Pouch, and then split the Cangyuan Formation apart with one strike.

…Split it apart?!

Me: “!!!”

So it turned out that when you could use your hands, you really should never waste time using your mouth.

So it turned out that before absolute combat power, all formations were fake.

I stared at the scene before me, dumbfounded. Shizun was just as dumbfounded as I was.

For the past month, Shizun’s attitude toward Ninth Junior Sister had been: flirt all you want, I remain steady as an old dog. The doggiest old dog.

But because of that sword strike, the first crack finally appeared in the cold expression Shizun used when looking at Ninth Junior Sister. His face showed a shock that roughly translated to “holy crap.”

And I didn’t know if it was my imagination, but Ninth Junior Sister’s sword seemed to have unlocked a new script.

When Shizun looked at Ninth Junior Sister with that “holy crap” expression, there seemed to be… a bit of surprise and a touch of something suggestive flowing through his eyes?

However, that look lasted less than three breaths.

After Shizun’s Cangyuan Formation was broken, he spat out a mouthful of blood and directly reverted to his true form.

A Silver Dragon.

Then his eyes closed, and he passed out.

Ninth Junior Sister looked at Shizun’s true body and asked her System, “Are snakes all this bad at taking a hit? I only destroyed the formation eye with one sword strike just now. It’s not like I directly slashed him. He’s the Sect Master of the Cangshan Sect, at least. Surely he can’t be so weak that he can’t even withstand the residual force of my sword qi?”

Me: “?”

What did she mean, only? What did she mean, just?

Belatedly, I wiped away the seawater that had splashed onto my face when the formation shattered.

To hell with seawater. Those were clearly tears of envy streaming down my face.

When would I ever be as strong as Ninth Junior Sister?

Only, putting strength aside, was there something wrong with Ninth Junior Sister’s understanding of species? The one lying in front of us was a dragon, not a snake.

Even if he was missing two horns.

Before I could remind Ninth Junior Sister, her System said, “Is it possible that the Cangyuan Formation Wuxian set up is different from the Cangyuan Formations you’ve broken before? That he personally anchored the formation with his true body, and the formation eye just so happened to be located where his heart meridian is?”

“And is there another possibility that you, a thirty-thousand-year-old old crone… adorable darling, are not someone any random eight-thousand-year-old long worm can take a sword strike from?”

Wait.

I think I finally understood what Ninth Junior Sister meant by what she said on her first day at Cangshan.

I whipped my head toward Ninth Junior Sister.

What Ninth Junior Sister? She should be Ninth Grandma.

While I was still reeling, Ninth Junior Sister started cursing out her System again. “Let me ask you, aside from issuing perverted missions all day long, can you do anything else? Couldn’t you have reminded me before I broke the formation?”

System: “…”

System: “Who knew you had the face of a little girl but acted this violent and bloody?”

Ninth Junior Sister: “…”

As Ninth Junior Sister traded insults with her System, she ran over, scooped Shizun up from the ground, flung him over her shoulder, and wrapped Shizun around herself like a scarf.

Then she turned back to me and said, “First Senior Sister, please ask Second Senior Brother to come treat Shizun.”

Right. Second Junior Brother was Cangshan’s best alchemist.

I immediately had no attention to spare for investigating who Ninth Junior Sister really was, why her cultivation was so terrifying, or how many thirty-thousand-year-old mighty experts still existed on Shenyuan Continent.

I hurried toward Second Junior Brother’s Hundred Herbs Peak.

Second Junior Brother had just been getting ready for bed. After learning there was an emergency, he grabbed his medicine chest and ran toward the rear mountain, asking as he ran, “What? Did something go wrong with the Hehuan Powder I gave you, or were their positions so wild they threw out their backs?”

“Ninth Junior Sister isn’t hurt, right? Shizun is still alive, right?”

Me: “…”

Fine. In that instant, I also felt like there might not be a single normal person in the Cangshan Sect.
