Chapter 126

Honest employees aren’t actually that honest.

Easygoing employees aren’t actually that easygoing.

Gu Huaiwei reflected: should she have started with that cute little girl in the shop first?

“Your manager is human, too.” A human boy at the door who was looking for a partner stared at Gu Huaiwei’s face, studying her for a long time. “Hmm… at first glance, you’re average, but if I look closely, you’re actually quite pretty. As expected, humans are easier on the eyes. Ah, if it weren’t for the Magnetic Value, I’d really want to date an ordinary human girl.”

Aliens were extraterrestrial creatures that reproduced through parasitism. Regardless of whether their Skin Suit appeared male or female, they were all biologically male.

Humans, acting as the parasitic hosts, had to use their bodies to help the Aliens hatch eggs after Bonding, regardless of their gender.

Gu Huaiwei looked at the chubby boy in the ridiculous hat, who wasn’t wearing a Contract Ring around his neck, and began pitching a new service.

“Dear customer, we can also help you find a human partner here. Or, you could try establishing a four-person family relationship.”

“A four-person relationship?” The chubby human boy grew interested.

Gu Huaiwei explained, “Yes, this is a new matchmaking package from the Oasis Matchmaking Agency. A four-person family consists of two Aliens and two humans.

“It can be same-species, cross-species, pure love, or multi-person. Humans can get double the Magnetic Value, and Aliens can get two humans for egg incubation.

“When you’re bored, the four of you can even play cards or mahjong. It’s absolutely perfect.”

In reality, she was just taking a new concept, packaging it up, and facilitating two deals at once-bundling the sale to collect two sets of fees.

Gu Huaiwei clasped her hands, thinking her new idea was brilliant.

The chubby human boy was very tempted by Gu Huaiwei’s words.

As he listened to her, a beautiful vision of four people living together appeared in his mind. He felt he could obtain double the Magnetic Value while also dating a human girl. His imagination ran wild, and he couldn’t wait to empty his wallet to realize this beautiful dream immediately.

“I want to sign up!”

“Of course. Please register first and list your requirements as a four-person family.” Gu Huaiwei opened a registration QR code on her phone. “Sir, scan here.

“After filling out the form, please pay the initial registration fee.

“The Matchmaking Event will be held in half a month. We will notify you of the specific time and venue in advance.

“I wish you the best in finding true love at the Matchmaking Event.”

“I’ll scan it too.”

“Me too.”

“That four-person family relationship sounds very attractive. I want to try it as well.”

It wasn’t just the chubby human boy; several other humans and Aliens who had been listening without speaking were also tempted and wanted to sign up.

“Please line up, one at a time.” Gu Huaiwei turned no one away, letting them scan the code one by one.

She believed that as long as there were enough people, there was a very good chance of successfully pairing ten couples at the Matchmaking Event.

Business this morning was quite good.

After cleaning the Home Party Hall, Bai Miemie had picked many fresh flowers from the forest and made them into various flower baskets, placing them around the Home Party Hall to absorb the formaldehyde.

After finishing all this, Bai Miemie took advantage of the lunch break when no one was around to secretly tug on Gu Huaiwei’s hem. With a slightly aggrieved expression, Bai Miemie said, “Sister Gu, why didn’t you come to see Miemie this morning? Does Miemie not have anything that attracts you?”
“Huh?” Gu Huaiwei, who was eating river snail rice noodles by the window, nearly choked on a mouthful of spicy broth.

She set down her chopsticks and stroked Bai Miemie’s curly, soft white hair.

“How could that be? Miemie is very cute. I greeted you this morning, didn’t I?”

Bai Miemie lowered her head and fidgeted with her fingers. “But you cared about Lin She’s work, and you cared about He Xueyi’s work, too. You talked with them for so long, but you didn’t say a word to Miemie. Miemie was ignored. It’s so pitiful.”

“You cleaned everything very well, and the flower baskets are arranged beautifully.” Gu Huaiwei couldn’t bear to see the dazed and adorable Bai Miemie looking so dejected, so she comforted her. “How about this? Tomorrow morning, I’ll go check on your work first.”

“Heehee, Sister Gu is the best!” Bai Miemie reached out and hugged Gu Huaiwei’s waist, rubbing her face against her soft stomach.

Then, Bai Miemie simply sat down beside Gu Huaiwei and began chatting about all sorts of random things. One moment she was asking what river snail rice noodles were and why they smelled so funky, and the next she was asking Gu Huaiwei if it was cold sleeping in the lobby at night and if she wanted to squeeze into her little blanket with her.

In truth, Gu Huaiwei felt that Bai Miemie wasn’t as simple as she appeared on the surface. To be chosen by the Boss, she certainly wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

But humans were essentially visual creatures. Bai Miemie was too much like a soft marshmallow cupcake – the kind where just a sniff made one feel like their blood sugar was exploding. Gu Huaiwei couldn’t help but indulge her in these small matters.

Lin She sensed Gu Huaiwei’s location through her scent.

He Xueyi sensed her location through the signal he had marked on her wrist.

Bai Miemie was different. She was a vegetarian and didn’t need to hunt, so her pupils were horizontal rectangles. This type of eye gave her a field of vision that reached three hundred and forty degrees.

Just now, Bai Miemie knew that Lin She was about to print out the new designs for the Matchmaking Event to discuss work with Gu Huaiwei, so she had run out ahead of him to act spoiled.

Lin She hated crowds.

She intended to cling to Gu Huaiwei on purpose just to make him miserable.

Preparations for the Matchmaking Event were in full swing.

Gu Huaiwei had already collected over sixty customers willing to participate in the event.

“I want to sign up for this Matchmaking Event.” Chen Liuxiang walked into the Oasis Matchmaking Agency with elegant strides, pulling out her phone to scan the code and fill out the registration form.

Gu Huaiwei covered the QR code printed and posted at the front desk with her hand.

Aliens did not allow humans to participate in criminal investigations.

She had tried to get Zhou Chuanning to investigate what happened at the coming-of-age ceremony that day, but Zhou Chuanning hadn’t actively pushed the case forward. She had asked a few times in the interim, but he only told her the case was being processed and gave her no further information.

“Miss Chen, you already have four human Bonding partners at home. Less than half a month ago, you Bonded with Miss He Jiarui. It’s only been a few days and you’re already looking for someone new? That’s hardly appropriate.”

Chen Liuxiang brushed her long, wavy brown hair over her chest and said sorrowfully, “Unfortunately, Jiarui fell seriously ill after the Bonding. She doesn’t have long to live. I need a new, healthy Bonding partner.”

At this point, she paused.

“Preferably, someone as healthy as you.”
