Chapter 178

Gu Huaiwei followed the map to her destination, knocked out several staff members on guard, tied them up, and stuffed them into a nearby storage room. Then, she stored the small Nuclear Submarine inside her Jade Bracelet.

However, on her way back, she encountered that Half-finished Product again.

Only this time, the Half-finished Product was standing by a wall, wearing Chen Liuxiang’s face and talking to itself.

“You shouldn’t have left home. You’ve been used to a life of luxury since you were a child. That fellow Zhou Chuanning isn’t right for you.”

“No Keeper would blame a naughty child they raised themselves. I will take you home.”

“Don’t be afraid. I will find a similar body for you and bring you back to life.”

Gu Huaiwei secretly pulled a mirror out of her pocket.

The mirror reflected the mangled body of the Half-finished Product.

His originally massive, distorted body was covered in bite marks, and the gaps were filled with pitch-black Worms. The heads that had previously hung from his limbs with peaceful smiles had now become hideous and feral.

All the heads were fighting for dominance.

Lin She had previously wounded the Half-finished Product severely, causing the original consciousnesses of the several Aliens he had devoured to resurface.

Gu Huaiwei bypassed him with light footsteps.

The Dawn Alliance had been in a state of chaos for the past two days.

The disappearance of Lu Beijiu and several staff members had led the Dawn Alliance to issue a martial law order.

Lin She still hadn’t woken up by the second day.

Gu Huaiwei didn’t wake him, letting him continue his rest.

However, by the third day, Lin She still hadn’t left his room.

The Half-finished Product seemed to have some kind of obsession with Gu Huaiwei.

Wearing Lu Beijiu’s face again, he came to visit her along with Sister Yu.

Internal data from the Dawn Alliance had been stolen, multiple members were missing, the Baptism Ritual had failed, and unidentified individuals from the outside had infiltrated the base to steal their spare Nuclear Submarine…

Sister Yu looked haggard. Staying up for several nights in a row to handle these matters had left her exhausted.

As the culprit behind it all, Gu Huaiwei chatted with Sister Yu, listening to her curse the ancestors of whoever was responsible.

“Sigh, if only the Baptism Ritual could have helped you recall the past,” Sister Yu complained until she was tired. She let out a long sigh and took Gu Huaiwei’s hand. “If you were the person you used to be, you would definitely have a way to help me solve all these current crises.”

Actually, Gu Huaiwei thought Sister Yu was a decent person.

Over the past few days, she had been doing everything personally.

She was very loyal to Sister Changge.

And she hadn’t used any extreme measures against Gu Huaiwei.

Unfortunately, they had a conflict of interest and were not on the same path.

“Even without me, you can solve these problems yourself.”

Sister Yu looked up at her.

“I’ve been gone for more than just a day or two. Hasn’t the Dawn Alliance continued to develop during the time I was away?”

This was an obvious fact.

To Sister Yu, Sister Changge’s significance was far more spiritual than practical.

Sister Changge had indeed provided a lot of technology.

But by now, the Dawn Alliance had long since matured and evolved beyond Sister Changge’s original design.

Sister Yu had always been looking forward to Gu Changge’s return.

But she was perfectly capable of handling the Dawn Alliance’s affairs on her own.

She didn’t actually need Sister Changge that much.

Sister Yu’s eyes flickered. “Is that… what you think?”

“Yes.” Gu Huaiwei nodded quickly.

She wasn’t saying this just to comfort her; it was because Sister Yu had been gritting her teeth, vowing to make the culprit suffer a fate worse than death.

Gu Huaiwei was the one who had Lin She steal the internal data.

Gu Huaiwei was also the one who stole the Submarine to prepare for their escape.

The more Sister Yu complained, the more curses were being piled onto Gu Huaiwei’s own head.

Sister Yu clenched her fists, taking Gu Huaiwei’s words to heart.
Light sparkled in Sister Yu’s small eyes. “You’re right. When you handed this place over to us back then, it was because you trusted us to manage the Dawn Alliance. I’ll go find the others for a meeting right now and draw up an emergency plan.”

“Uh… good luck.”

Sister Yu stood up to leave, and Gu Huaiwei saw her out with a light step.

Standing beside Sister Yu, Lu Beijiu feigned concern.

“Miss Gu, where is that friend who’s always with you?”

Gu Huaiwei didn’t call him out. Instead, she simply replied, “Sleeping.”

Lu Beijiu’s face twisted into a malicious smile. “The sun is high in the sky; he sure is sleeping for a long time.”

“He’ll be awake soon.” Gu Huaiwei wanted to warn this Half-finished Product to stop his crooked schemes.

She might not be able to kill him with a blade, but Lin She had a way to devour him.

“The two of you really are inseparable.”

“Are you disappointed?”

“We did film a dating show together, after all. You were the first person I chose as my heart’s interest. Give me a chance for some time alone with you.” After devouring Lu Beijiu, the Half-finished Product possessed all of his memories.

Gu Huaiwei crossed her arms. “Sorry, I wouldn’t choose you even if I were looking for a second husband.”

Sister Yu just assumed they were two young people joking around.

However, as “Lu Beijiu” left, the look he gave Gu Huaiwei was one of absolute possession.

As a Fallen Operator, he had to devour Gu Huaiwei to steal her identity and leave this Dimension.

Gu Huaiwei felt it wasn’t safe to stay here much longer.

She couldn’t let Lin She sleep any further.

After they left, Gu Huaiwei went straight to Lin She’s room and picked the lock.

His room was incredibly hot and humid, like a steamer. Within a few steps, fine beads of sweat broke out on Gu Huaiwei’s forehead.

She found Lin She on the bed, curled into a ball and clutching a hot water bottle that had already gone cold. She dragged him up, quilt and all.

Lin She’s eyes were tightly shut.

His wet black hair clung to his pale cheeks. His breathing was shallow, and his heartbeat was slow. A layer of slightly hardened scales covered the area from his right cheek down to his neck, making him look even less human.

Just as Gu Huaiwei straightened his body, he suddenly snapped his eyes open. His dark green pupils instantly turned into vertical slits-pure, hollow, and inorganic.

Gu Huaiwei had only ever seen that kind of gaze in cold-blooded predators on nature documentaries.

But very quickly, he returned to normal.

The patterns on his face vanished rapidly.

“Stop sleeping. We’ve got the Submarine. Get ready to go.” Gu Huaiwei tossed the down jacket from the chair to him.

Lin She didn’t get up immediately. Instead, he sat on the edge of the bed with his head lowered, asking in a low, raspy voice, “Miss Gu, did you see anything strange just now?”

Gu Huaiwei denied it flatly, her expression natural. “No. It’s not even winter yet; what would I see?”

“You didn’t notice anything different about me?” His tone was slow and suppressed, like a cold wind from a Cemetery, carrying a damp chill that seeped into one’s marrow.

“I did notice. You’ve gotten lazy and started sleeping in.” Gu Huaiwei was an expert at playing dumb.

Lin She fell silent for a moment. He ruffled his hair in frustration and muttered under his breath, “As long as I didn’t scare you.”

“There’s too much trouble here. We should leave as soon as possible.”

Gu Huaiwei urged Lin She to get moving.

Her main concern was that unstable Half-finished Product stirring up trouble.

“The fact that the Half-finished Product is still alive is a failure on my part.” Lin She stood up and walked toward the door.

“Where are you going?”
