Don't Buy a Beastman on a Whim - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
In the twenty-third year of hoping my dad would finally make something of himself, he actually struck it rich.
A helicopter chugged me all the way to Huangchenggen’er, and just like that, somehow, I stumbled into high society.
Life did get better. I just wasn’t very used to playing the part of a proper young lady.
The socialites and rich wives in the circle were always laughing at my country accent and saying I didn’t know how to spend money.
In a fit of rage, I decided to make a big purchase and show them.
When Lao He heard about it, he slapped a black card down with a snap. “Take it and spend. A daughter of the Lao He Family can be bad at anything, but she cannot be bad at spending money!”
Beaming, I pinched the black card between my fingers and snuck into a high-end auction.
Then, in a spree of revenge spending, I won the most expensive item there.
It was a person. Alive. Male. With beast ears.
Pale and beautiful, like a fragile porcelain doll.
His big, fluffy tail swept past without meaning to.
And swept One Hundred Million right off Lao He’s card.
Good heavens, he was gorgeous.
No, wait. I was amazing at spending money.
Chapter 2
By the time I returned to the hotel that night, regret had begun to set in.
That was One Hundred Million.
The equivalent of a stack of hundred-yuan bills thirty-three stories high.
Spread flat, it would cover 1.6 standard soccer fields.
It weighed about 1.15 tons…
The more I thought about it, the more my heart ached. Hugging a pillow, I thumped it against the bed again and again.
I had no idea how long the knocking had been going on.
The organizer stood respectfully outside my door, an iron chain in his hand.
One Hundred Million stood in the shadows behind him.
He was tall, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His silver-white beast ears drooped, stained with dried blood, making him look heartbreakingly broken.
Sensing my gaze, he warily lifted his face and bared his teeth at me through the bite muzzle, fierce as anything.
The instant our eyes met, a little electric current shot through me, leaving half my body tingling.
As expected, the power of One Hundred Million was truly terrifying.
Before I could snap out of it, the organizer yanked the chain downward.
That deathly pale face came vividly, breathtakingly alive under the suffocating threat of near-strangulation.
The organizer looked at me with an apologetic expression. “Miss He, this model is a Vent-type Beastman. No matter how you play with him, he won’t break. He can take very rough handling…”
As he spoke, he tightened his grip on the chain again.
The Beast-man was forced to kneel before me, his skin pulled taut from humiliation and pain, flushing faintly red.
His voice was strained. “I’m nothing but your Little Pet. Play with me however you want.”
That glare was so fierce.
I loved it.
I swallowed and finally came back to my senses, then helped him up with aching sympathy. “Hurry up and take off this awful chain and bite muzzle. What if they damage such a beautiful body?”
Heh. That little arm was seriously solid.
The organizer gave me a knowing look. “Understood. I’ll remove them right away.”
