Before I came along, my Dragon mother was busy with two things: eating and sleeping.

After I arrived, there was a third thing-busy seeking milk.

In my mother’s eyes, all beings are equal; there is no real distinction between high and low, noble and humble.

So when it came to getting milk for me, she never insisted on human milk.

Whenever she saw a lactating female, she would pick me up and go straight for it.

Fortunately, my mother is a Dragon, and there aren’t many species in this world that dare refuse her.

My mother carried me around, eating and wandering through the Three Realms for a whole year.

I grew from a toothless baby who could only drink milk into a little monster who could snatch food from a Dragon’s mouth.

My front teeth hadn’t appeared yet, but all four canine teeth-top and bottom-had grown in.

Even more conspicuous were the two strange bumps on my forehead. When they first appeared, my mother pinched them for a long time.

“Are these ugly things Dragon horns?”

Later, the bumps subsided, and my mother finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“Turns out they’re just two big lumps from a fall.”

Since I could already gnaw on ribs by myself, my mother figured I should be able to chew on small fish too.

So she revealed her Dragon form, placed me on her forehead, and plunged into the ocean.

“My Son, let me take you to eat seafood.”

Me: “Glug~ mm…”

My mother roamed the deep sea while I bobbed up and down on the surface.

She chased after schools of fish, devouring them one after another, ravenous and wild.

I was tossed about by the waves, gulping mouthful after mouthful, choking endlessly.

My mother was born to swim, so the word “drown” doesn’t exist in her dictionary.

By the time she realized I hadn’t kept up, I was already floating belly-up on the surface.

“My Son has no appetite? Why are you sleeping here?”

Seeing that I didn’t respond after three calls, my mother simply put me back on her forehead and soared into the sky, riding the clouds and mist away.
