“Sister Gu, you really helped me out by swapping shifts last time. Whenever you want a day off, just let me know and I’ll cover for you.”

In the library staff office, the woman who had asked Gu Xiaonuan for help last time walked over with a smile.

Gu Xiaonuan was originally going to say it wasn’t necessary, but then she remembered Lu Yichen’s words: “Teacher Gu, how about you come to the university to find me on a day you’re not working?”

Tomorrow was Thursday, and the students all had classes. If she went to find him then, she would likely be seen by many people.

“Tomorrow, if that’s okay?”

When she returned home, Lu Yichen hadn’t come back yet. He seemed to have a heavy workload lately and had been returning very late.

There was a knock on the door. Gu Xiaonuan looked up, and in the next second, she had moved to the door.

“Thank you for the feeding, Teacher Gu.” Outside, a handsome smile hung on his face, but Gu Xiaonuan could see the fatigue he couldn’t hide.

“I haven’t had the energy to make dinner lately, so this is a godsend.”

Lu Yichen laughed as he opened his door. “I’ll take it then.”

Just as he was about to go inside with the bag of food, Gu Xiaonuan spoke up. “I’m free tomorrow. I’ll go to the university to find you. Let me know what time works for you.”

“Tomorrow… I’m covering a large lecture for my supervisor in the morning.” He looked at Gu Xiaonuan. “If it’s convenient for Teacher Gu, why don’t you come and listen to the class I’m teaching? You could even point out any areas where I’m lacking.”

Gu Xiaonuan thought for a moment. “Okay. What time and which classroom?”

“It’s a general lecture for the History Department, in the second-floor auditorium of the Literature and History Building. You can just walk right in, Teacher Gu.” Lu Yichen let out a yawn and gave the bag in his hand a slight shake.

“I’ll make sure to eat it all. Goodnight.”

Gu Xiaonuan curled back onto the sofa, hugging her knees as she continued watching the variety show. Thinking about Lu Yichen teaching the class tomorrow, she took out her phone and browsed the Forum.

Sure enough, the news had been posted. Within a short time, the thread had already reached over 200 replies.

“I really want to go audit the class!”

“I regret not choosing the History Department! To have such a handsome senior!”

“With a substitute teacher like that, I’d never skip class again.”

Long denim pants and a short-sleeved T-shirt-the small face in the mirror was her original appearance without her glasses. She thought about it for a moment; she still needed to make the difference somewhat obvious.

Wearing light makeup and simple clothes, her soft, slightly lustrous black hair draped behind her back as she stepped out the door.

On the way, some people couldn’t help but turn their heads to look at her.

On the subway, several good-looking men came up to start a conversation, but most were warded off by Gu Xiaonuan’s icy aura.

She was like an ice-cold beauty, yet even colder than that.

A few minutes before class began, the lecture hall was completely full. The students’ constant chatter filled the air, but Gu Xiaonuan kept her head down the entire time, surrounded by an aura that practically screamed ‘don’t talk to me.’

The handsome young man sitting next to her wanted to speak several times, but in the end, he said nothing.

The bell rang, and a stir went through the students as a figure pushed open the door and walked in.

A tall, handsome figure-Lu Yichen’s hair was slightly tousled, and he wore glasses. Perhaps because he was substitute teaching, he was dressed more formally.

Casual dress pants and a white shirt with the buttons fastened neatly made him look quite old-fashioned and serious.

Walking up to the podium, he lifted his gaze. With just one look, he spotted Gu Xiaonuan sitting in the back.

Seeing the boy sitting next to her, his thin lips curled up slightly as he gently picked up the microphone on the podium. “The student in the very last row, please don’t stare too much at someone else’s girlfriend.”
