Half White Moonlight Script - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
I swung the first strike.
The Demon Lord’s expression shifted instantly, followed by a sneer. “You are Du Canying’s disciple, yet you’ve learned the Demon Cultivator’s trick of devouring the cultivation of others.”
He spun around to attack.
I had no intention of defending myself. I simply focused on completing the final sword technique my master had taught me.
Fittingly, it consisted of five strikes.
As the Demon Lord’s hand pierced through my chest, my final strike-carrying the momentum of heavenly light and the fury of thunder-slashed toward his head. Blood dyed us both crimson.
Following the custom of a formal duel, I announced the names of those who had delivered these strikes.
“Zhi An of the Heavenly Secrets Sect; Xie Yi of the Medical Sect; Guan Shi of the Buddhist Sect; Zhu Tao of the Hehuan Sect; and Xu Zhi of Jianmen.”
“Thank you for the lesson!”
Without waiting for him to react, I activated the final formation eye.
A massive surge of pure spiritual energy erupted, piercing through my body. An overwhelming wave of pain washed over me.
So this was how much it hurt for Ah Tao and the others.
Over the past forty years, through Zhi An’s calculations, we had found the most suitable location for the formation eyes.
Before we set out, my companions had transferred their cultivation to me one by one, ensuring I would be able to trap the Demon Lord at the center of the formation.
Then, I sent them off one by one, confirming that each formation eye was successfully opened.
The first was Junior Sister Zhi An. She looked at me with a pained expression and said, “Senior Sister, is it embarrassing to say I’m afraid of the pain? If I’d known, I would have asked Senior Brother Xie to needle me into a coma.”
But in truth, Xie Yi hadn’t brought his silver needles at all. He said it would be a waste for such fine spiritual tools to be buried with him.
Xie Yi had raised a suggestive eyebrow. “I came into this world with nothing, and I shall leave it with nothing!”
“Hey! Junior Sister Xu Zhi, don’t look so grim! It’s rare that your man isn’t around-want to see my abs? You have to prove to the world that we medical cultivators aren’t all scrawny weaklings.”
Buddha’s Child Guan Shi was the most serene among us. For once, he didn’t recite any Buddhist gathas. Instead, he smiled lightheartedly, saying that in his next life, he wanted to be a kitten-catching fish on sunny days and sleeping when it rained.
I asked him if catching fish wasn’t considered killing.
He said kittens didn’t need to practice Buddhism.
Finally, there was my Ah Tao.
Her Immortal Bone was located in her spine, making it very difficult for her to remove it herself, yet she insisted on doing it.
“Zhizhi, you can’t be the one to do it. A person like you would die of guilt.”
She slumped into my arms, covered in blood. “Do I look very ugly right now? Hahaha… well, even so, you’re not allowed to dislike me.”
What a joke. Everyone under heaven knew that Zhu Tao of the Hehuan Sect was the greatest beauty of the age.
I held her hand and coaxed her, “Who said that? Our Ah Tao is the most beautiful of all.”
“Zhizhi, it… it hurts so much.” She cried for a moment, then turned her head to urge me, “Still, it’s better that I go first. Remember, I… I’m staying with you.”
“Zhizhi, don’t be afraid.”
She was a fool. When had I, Xu Zhi, ever been afraid?
Amidst the sky-filling light, I slowly closed my eyes. In my peripheral vision, I saw someone charging in with a sword, shouting something at me. My consciousness was already fading; I couldn’t hear him clearly.
I knew who he was.
I’m sorry.
