His Flower Language - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“No raining in your heart!!!”
The System’s scream echoed in my ears for a long, long time.
I watched the nurse finish bandaging Lin Qi’s wound, then thought it over and left him my contact information anyway.
“If the wound gets worse, remember to contact me. My name is Le… Hua Li.”
After being acknowledged by the Hua family, I had changed my surname.
The corners of his lips curved. “Okay.”
Even though I had rejected him not long ago, his tone was calm, his boundaries perfectly measured.
The System warned, “No setting off fireworks and firecrackers in your heart.”
“…And no silently chanting the female supporting character’s name that many times in your heart!”
His face, paired with the System’s voice…
Somehow, the combination felt strangely disjointed.
Could I be the crazy one?
Forget it.
Once I had done what needed to be done, I was about to say goodbye when Lin Qi called out to me.
The System sounded a little powerless. “What are you doing…? I’m begging you, please say something to the heroine!”
“Nothing,” Lin Qi said with a soft smile, his voice gentle. “I just wanted to try what it feels like to say your name.”
“See you next time, Hua Li.”
…
…
“…And Miss Le here.”
System: “Can you not tack our dear heroine on in that kind of afterthought tone?”
Even after Le Chun and I had walked several meters away, I could still hear the System falling apart.
“Don’t you want to complete the mission and return to your original world? You are forbidden from saying ‘I don’t.'”
“I’m done. Aren’t you supposed to be the male lead of a no-romance novel? I bound you because I thought you didn’t have those worldly desires!”
“Please, bro, stop thinking about being the other man. Besides, what part of those simp lines has anything to do with your untouchable-flower face?”
“And the person the female supporting character likes is Yan Yi. You don’t stand a chance.”
“…Yes, changing your name to Yan Yi won’t help. Yan Two or Yan Three won’t help either. Are you some deranged grad student? Besides, you’re the second male lead. Neither the heroine nor the female supporting character will like you, so stop coming up with these ridiculous ideas.”
“No raining. No crying. Help! Who are you? Get out of my infinite-flow host’s body!”
Chapter 5
I thought Lin Qi would message me after I got back.
Instead, for several days in a row, his chat window sank all the way to the bottom.
It was not until the fourth day that he finally sent, sounding a little aggrieved:
“If the wound doesn’t get worse, am I not allowed to contact you?”
It made me smile for no reason. He was kind of cute.
I apologized and told him my engagement was still in a Schrödinger’s cat sort of state.
Before I was fully single again, I couldn’t accept his advances.

Our conversations were very ordinary, and he kept exactly the right distance.
After Yan Yi learned what had happened a few days ago, he asked me out during a break after filming.
To talk about the engagement.
I waited in the private room he had booked for half an hour.
Not that I waited on purpose. As soon as I arrived, I told the waiter to serve the dishes.
By the time I had finished one round and started on the after-dinner dessert for round two, he finally strolled in late.
A baseball cap, sunglasses, and a black mask covered him from head to toe.
“I ran into a stalker fan on the way and had to take a detour…”
When he saw the remains on the table, his explanation got stuck in his throat.
He glared at me.
I did not care. He was never on time anyway, so why should I starve myself?
Ever since we were young, he had liked making me wait.
In middle school, I once waited alone for him after school, only for him to walk out of the gates surrounded by girls.
I did not receive his belated message until I had finished all my homework: he was already home.
While he was at it, he mocked me too, asking whether I had really been waiting to go home with him. So many people liked him. Why did he have to go home with me, of all people?
He had even acquired a self-organized fan support club back in middle school, and they warned me to stay away from him.
He never cared about his fans’ extreme behavior.
When I acted in self-defense and sent the fans who bullied me to the police station, I also sent him to the hospital while I was at it.
Maybe that damaged his pride.
From then on, his attitude toward me took a sharp turn for the worse.
He protested the engagement even more.
After his resistance failed, he rebelliously ran off into the entertainment industry.
And warned me, in passing, that I was not allowed to reveal my relationship with him.
“Because of this mess, even the middle school stuff got dug up. It hung on the trending list for three whole days and still wouldn’t come down. Le Li, you did this on purpose to make trouble for me, didn’t you?”
I said, “I’ve already changed my name.”
He froze for a moment, his expression darkening.
“You think that just because you’ve changed your name and you’re no longer surnamed Le, you can ignore our engagement?”
I was a little surprised. From the sound of it, he still wanted to continue our engagement?
“Anyway,” Yan Yi said, sitting down beside me and calling the waiter over to order, his face turned away, “the person engaged to me is you, not anyone else.”
I frowned.
Just as I was about to say something, I heard that familiar System voice again.
“Wrong room! The heroine is in the private room next door! This is the male lead and the female supporting character!”
“Where did you drag that Italian cannon out from? Put it away! What the hell was your original world… Were you always like this? Wearing that smiling face while going on a killing spree?”
“If you dare break character, I’ll shock you!”
The next second, someone knocked politely on the door.
Yan Yi assumed it was the waiter and answered impatiently, “Come in.”
Yan Yi continued, eyes lowered, his face somehow a little red.
“You think I really want to continue this engagement with you?”
“Le Chun is a junior in my industry. Being engaged to an outsider like you is better than being engaged to someone in the same circle as her.”
“Don’t think it’s because I like you…”
With a click, the pitch-black, icy muzzle of a gun pressed against Yan Yi’s forehead.
Lin Qi’s eyes curved as he smiled and asked me, “If I get rid of your fiancé, you’ll be single, right?”
