The air went deathly still for three seconds.

“…Don’t say creepy things like that,” I said, my voice complicated.

My phone remained silent for a long time.

At last, a message suddenly popped up.

Xie Huai: **I mean Human is pretty.**

I stared blankly.

Clutching my phone, I climbed into bed. Before that icy presence could wind itself around me again, I opened a search engine to see whether anyone else had experienced something similar.

“A ghost is following me,” I repeated with absolute certainty. “His name is Xie Huai.”

The other end went silent for over ten seconds.

When the man spoke again, all his earlier cheer was gone.

“Come to me. Quickly.”
