Is Mr. Assistant Angry Today? - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
I’m a second-generation rich kid who was forced to inherit the family business.
The life of a domineering CEO is dull and tedious.
The only thing that can lift my spirits
is the eternally good-tempered Assistant Wen.
Wen Yishi is so mild-mannered he hardly seems real, as if he was born without the function called “anger.”
Even when I squeezed him so hard he worked overtime every day with no days off all year,
he never once frowned. Instead, he smiled and praised me for being ambitious.
He was practically DeepSeek after gaining sentience.
Chapter 2
But the more even-tempered Wen Yishi was,
the more curious I became about what he’d look like when he got angry.
So, little by little,
pranking Assistant Wen became my greatest joy at work.
My brother couldn’t stand watching me bully his good friend and advised me to stop while I was ahead.
Unmoved, I went straight for the jugular:
“You’ve been friends for so many years. Has he ever shown you his real emotions?”
“Aren’t you curious what he’d be like if he lost his temper?”
Xie Xiao’s gaze wavered.
Xie Xiao was shamefully tempted.
“But then again, you’re just a little too curious. It’s not like you have bad intentions.”
“I’ll cover for you with Mom and Dad… Ahem. If you pull it off, remember to send me a photo.”
And so, a wicked deal was struck.
With my own brother egging me on, I became even more reckless.
Chapter 3
I spent three years trying to provoke Wen Yishi into losing his temper.
But no matter how over-the-top my pranks got, Wen Yishi remained perfectly composed.
Even when I walked into a meeting in a rainbow Mary Sue wig and a studded leather jacket,
he didn’t bat an eye and even praised me:
“The target audience for the company’s new product is young people who chase trends. President Xie is thinking from the user’s perspective for this proposal.”
Me, who was only trying to get a rise out of him: “…”
Later, I pretended to be in a rebellious phase and said I wanted to experience the life of a biker girl. The moment work ended, I forced him onto the back seat of my motorcycle.
As it turned out, Wen Yishi adapted even faster than I did and suggested with keen interest:
“If you don’t dare go too fast, President Xie, why don’t you let me drive next time?”
Who knew when a workaholic like him had managed to get a Class E license.
My prank failed again, and I was so mad I put the motorcycle straight into storage.
In short, over the past few years, I never stopped pranking Wen Yishi.
Including but not limited to faking amnesia, pretending to be a transmigrator, pretending to be sick…
Aside from the time I faked amnesia, successfully mooched at his place for a month, and, when the truth came out, received an enigmatic sigh from him,
the rest of my pranks didn’t cause the slightest ripple in his emotions.
Wen Yishi stayed as calm as ever, while I grew bolder with each failure.
Someone who didn’t get how my brain worked cautiously asked me:
“President Xie, do you dislike Assistant Wen?”
I widened my eyes in surprise. “How could I? I only treat him like this because we’re close.”
That person was struck speechless.
“Have you never considered what you’ll do if Assistant Wen can’t take it one day and jumps ship?”
I replied with confidence, “Relax. That is absolutely impossible.”
A boss as humorous, lively, and adorable as me is a rare treasure. How could he possibly bear to leave me?
However…
Just one hour after I said that,
I went to check in at a trendy viral restaurant and saw Wen Yishi-who was supposed to be out on a business meeting-sitting there for some reason.
Sitting across from him was the boss of a rival company.
The two of them were chatting away happily. Anyone who saw that scene would sigh,
“Wow, it’s BOSS Direct Hire.”
But in the eyes of me, the real boss, it became:
“Oh crap, someone’s trying to poach my talent!”
