Jiang Sheng Runs Away - Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Back at the War God Hall, I lay down on my side upon the soft couch.
I had originally intended to wait for Qi Zheng to return so I could throw a fit, but after waiting and waiting with no sign of him, I ended up falling asleep.
When I woke up again, I was circled in Qi Zheng’s arms. His scorching breath brushed against my ear, and a sharp pain shot through my neck.
I didn’t even twitch an eyebrow. After having my blood sucked for five hundred years, I had long since grown used to the pain.
While he drank my blood, his hands remained restless, gradually wandering upward from my waist.
I let out a soft sigh.
Having slept with him for five hundred years, I did have some feelings for him.
But I, Lu Shengsheng, have never been one to share a man with other women.
I abruptly pushed him away and asked, my face covered in tears:
“You like that Qin Zhuang’er, don’t you?”
Qi Zheng was taken aback, his brow furrowing quickly.
“Stop acting up. I was quite badly injured this time. Come here.”
I didn’t listen to him. Instead, I ran far away on bare feet, my voice filled with accusations:
“You don’t love me at all. Those Celestial Maidens have mocked me for five hundred years, yet I’ve never seen you defend me. Just what am I to you?”
A faint, fiery red glow began to envelop his body.
This was the precursor to his rage.
I trembled slightly.
“You are my, Qi Zheng’s, Concubine. That is your identity. As a mere mortal, do you actually dare to dream of anything else?”
I swayed, looking as if I might collapse, and murmured:
“Concubine… I don’t want to be anyone’s Concubine. If it weren’t for you, I could have married a mortal man as his primary wife.”
The red light on his body grew brighter, and his voice became deep and penetrating:
“I warned you long ago that you should know your place! Qi Zheng’s primary wife could never be a useless mortal without a single spiritual root!”
“Enough. Stop this nonsense and come here.”
I moved toward him like a marionette and was pulled roughly into his embrace.
After serving as his blood bag for nearly fifteen minutes, he stuffed a pill into my mouth.
“Sheng Sheng,” his coarse palm slowly rubbed over my fingers, “you must remember your status. Do not mention Qin Zhuang’er so casually in the future. She is a woman of great talent who cultivates diligently; she is someone worthy of respect and is not for you to slander at will.”
A single clear tear fell from my eye. “Qi Zheng, let me go.”
He suddenly curled his lips into a smile.
“Sheng Sheng, unless you die, don’t even think about ever leaving me.”
My heart shivered.
Gritting my teeth, I asked, “Aren’t you afraid your future wife will mind my existence?”
His gaze flickered slightly, as if he were thinking of someone.
The arms holding me loosened a fraction as he spoke:
“When that time comes, you will naturally have a place to go.”
At that moment, the scent of blood on him violently stimulated my nerves.
My pupils dilated.
It was over. It felt like I had just booked an appointment with death.
