Little Fragrant Pig Sword - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Junior Sister couldn’t stand it anymore. Her voice rose as she snapped angrily, “Pei Qingwu, don’t you think you owe Sang Le some responsibility? If you don’t like her, then let her find somewhere else to settle down. A girl’s youth is precious!”
Pei Qingwu propped his chin on one hand and sneered.
“Thanks to me, her parents get to spend their old age as servants in my household. Rats beget rats. In this life, she’s nothing but my little servant. At worst, if she ends up an old maid, I’ll pay to keep her. Who else would want her?”
“Stop talking. Sang Le is crying!”
Someone called out.
Pei Qingwu’s shoulders stiffened. His arrogant, overbearing posture froze in an instant, and a flicker of panic crossed him.
He turned back. Our eyes met, and that easy smile returned to his face.
“Am I wrong?”
I walked up and splashed the last cup of wine in his face.
“Your mouth stinks. That’s my wine. You’re not allowed to drink it.”
Everyone else stared in shock. One by one, no one dared to speak.
They all knew Pei Qingwu had a terrible temper. He was an arrogant young master, but with his outstanding looks and considerable talent in cultivation, everyone favored him anyway.
Anyone who provoked him would, if they didn’t die, have their bones shaved down.
I forced myself to stand firm and hid my trembling hands behind my back.
Pei Qingwu raised his hand, and I instinctively took a step back.
But he only wiped his face. His fist tightened, and when he saw my swollen eyes, he scoffed.
“Done venting? Then what did you come to me for? In the end, don’t you still have to beg me?”
I had already made up my mind.
Junior Sister was right.
There was no need for me to waste any more time on Pei Qingwu. I might as well take advantage of my youth and find a good future for myself.
I shook my head. “It’s nothing. I won’t trouble you.”
Pei Qingwu grabbed my sleeve, his brow furrowing as he gave a cold snort.
“Throwing a tantrum? Did someone bully you? Or…”
I yanked my sleeve out of his hand.
Pei Qingwu’s eyes went blank for a moment. He seemed about to stand, but after glancing around at our fellow disciples, he sat back down.
“You don’t know what’s good for you.”
“Pei Qingwu! Sang Le only got into trouble because of you-”
Junior Sister tried to speak, but I shook my head at her.
She glared at Pei Qingwu and cursed under her breath. “Pei Qingwu, you’d better not regret this!”
Before I turned to leave, Pei Qingwu burst into loud laughter. He grabbed the senior and junior brothers beside him, his laughter ringing through the room.
“Listen to her. What a joke Junior Sister is making. Whether it’s me who regrets it or Sang Le, just wait and see. Tomorrow, she’ll come trotting right back here to deliver things to me, all eager and obedient.”
I shut the door behind me.
Lowering my head, I opened the communication jade pendant and prepared to delete Pei Qingwu.
But he had sent me a message.
“Come at once to register as Dao companions.”
