Luring Him to Fall - Chapter 3
The next night was dark and moonless.
This time, I did not knock.
I scaled the walls and crept across the roof above Xie Jingchuan’s room.
He had broken his promise. I would poison him in secret instead.
The thought of the ten enormous chicken legs Foster Father would give me after I killed him made me grin from ear to ear.
Carefully, I lifted one of the roof tiles and peered inside.
Xie Jingchuan was bathing.
At the faint sound above him, his ear twitched. An almost imperceptible smile touched his lips.
Mist rose from the bath like immortal clouds, softening his pale, handsome face into something hazy and seductive.
He slowly stood. Wet hair streamed down his back, and every line of his powerful body came into view.
His perfect physique did not interest me in the slightest.
What interested me was the thing between his legs—something none of my colleagues at the Eastern Depot possessed.
I stared, fascinated.
Xie Jingchuan slipped on a thin white robe and tied it without haste. Then he flicked a concealed weapon at the roof and knocked me straight down.
I plunged into the tub and came up drenched.
He caught me by the collar and lifted me as if I were a rabbit.
“Seen enough?”
Xie Jingchuan was tall, a full head above me. When I stood, my eyes landed directly on the two faint points of pink showing through the fabric over his chest.
They did not hold my attention for long. I was still more curious about what grew between his legs.
I looked up at him and said with complete seriousness, “Take off your robe. You’re ill.”
His elegant brows drew together. “You can tell that I’ve been poisoned?”
So he had been poisoned.
No wonder such a huge tumor had grown down there.
I pulled open his robe and pointed.
“It must be a vicious poison. It has already gone hard. We need to cut it off before it spreads through your body.”
Xie Jingchuan’s face went crimson.
He fumbled his robe shut, helpless for once. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he asked, “Do you truly know nothing?”
I cocked my head. “Know what?”
“Never mind.”
He glanced at my soaked black clothes and ordered a maid to bring me a dress.
“Change before you catch cold.”
I could have cried.
Xie Jingchuan was such a good man.
I had come to assassinate him, yet he still gave me new clothes. He was nothing like my wicked foster father, who made me work for every chicken leg.
I carried the clothes behind a folding screen.
The maid had even brought me a pink undergarment. It was pretty and slightly sheer.
My breasts were too full, so I normally bound them to make it easier to wear night clothes. The undergarment was beautiful, but much too small. I could not tie the strings at the back.
The dress was too tight across the chest as well.
My binding cloth was wet, so I could not put that back on either.
“Xie Jingchuan, these clothes don’t fit. They’re too small.”
“How could they not fit? Your waist is so thin it’s nearly nonexistent. Are you too stupid to know how to put on a dress?”
He was the stupid one.
His entire family was stupid.
To prove that I was not, I walked out wearing only the undergarment I could not fasten.
“See? It’s too small. The strings won’t even meet.”
