Summary
I am a beautiful but supposedly brainless assassin sent to kill Xie Jingchuan, the coldhearted Regent. After nine failed attempts, his guard finally asks why I keep announcing every assassination in advance. The Regent’s answer is simple: come tomorrow in a dancing dress. I obey, only to find him far more interested in uncovering my face than avoiding my blade. Each visit pulls me deeper into his residence, his bed, and his dangerous attention. But beneath my foolish mask lies a plan years in the making—and the man I was ordered to kill may be the most useful piece on my board.
