Chapter 112

Hua Suihe raised her hand and greeted them with a hint of surprise in her voice. “We meet again. You’ve made it here too.”

Yi Shuang and Fang Ge dismounted from their camels, holding the reins as they approached them.

Ye Susheng’s gaze was cold. Even though these two were familiar faces by now, she didn’t show them the slightest bit of courtesy. It wasn’t as if they were particularly close with Hua Hua; they had just run into each other a few times in various dungeons. So, having said hello, they could leave now, right?

Yi Shuang discreetly glanced at Ye Susheng, then bypassed her to speak with Hua Suihe. “Did you run into any danger after you left?”

Hua Suihe leaned slightly against Ye Susheng’s shoulder, her tone relaxed. “It was fine. It didn’t take long to find her.”

As for the pitfalls she’d encountered with the seven random cards, she hadn’t mentioned those to Ye Susheng.

Fang Ge asked curiously, “The edge is not far from here. Are you also here to clear the dungeon and leave?”

Hua Suihe gave her a soft smile and pointed at the camel she was leading, explaining the purpose of their trip. “I just followed the camels here. I’ve never seen one before, so I was curious.”

Fang Ge hissed, voicing the thoughts of the audience. “You guys really are here on vacation…”

“Ah…” A sound like an electric motor revving rang out abruptly; it was the cry of a camel.

Yi Shuang patted the camel beside her. It seemed unable to stay still, appearing somewhat agitated. She shared what information she knew with Hua Suihe. “There’s a ten-kilometer Tunnel ahead. The path inside is difficult to traverse, and Teleportation Talisman cards won’t work. It’s very hard to pass through on foot.”

With Ye Susheng around, Hua Suihe should have no problem getting through a Tunnel, but a warning was still necessary. Although Ye Susheng still didn’t like them, her killing intent had at least been restrained. She wouldn’t launch a sneak attack while Hua Suihe wasn’t looking; in Ye Susheng’s eyes, she had perhaps already categorized them as Hua Suihe’s friends.

Fang Ge nodded along from the side. “Yes, it’s very dangerous. Items can’t be used, which is why everyone has a camel.”

Yi Shuang looked at the sky and stopped chatting, bidding them farewell. “We need to cross the Tunnel before sunset, so we’ll be going now.”

“Oh, right,” Fang Ge chimed in. “Let’s stay in touch when we have time. By the way, I never asked-Peanut, where are you living now?”

Hua Suihe didn’t give a specific location. “We’re living in Zone B now. We just moved into a new home not long ago.”

“What a coincidence! Yi Shuang and I are both in Zone B. We should hang out sometime.”

Ye Susheng interjected at the perfect moment: “No time.”

Ye Susheng intentionally sped up the flow of time to start shooing them away. “Aren’t you leaving yet? The sun is about to set.”

Yi Shuang looked up at the position of the sun. The flow of time had become abnormal again, just like the long night yesterday. The time in this dungeon was truly fickle.

Without further small talk, they mounted their camels, said their goodbyes, and returned to the path they were on, continuing forward. The other players had long since vanished. Once Yi Shuang and Fang Ge also disappeared into the vast yellow sands, nothing remained but a world of gold, without a single scrap of vegetation.

Hua Suihe touched her dry, tight face and squinted at the surrounding landscape. She couldn’t help but sigh, “The desertification here is just too complete.”

The black mist expanded outward again, suppressing the yellow sand that was swirling upward.

Ye Susheng noticed Hua Suihe touching her face from time to time and thought she was unwell. She reached out to feel her forehead; the temperature was normal, no fever. However, the skin felt a bit dry, not as smooth and delicate as before. Ye Susheng herself wasn’t sensitive to air humidity and had overlooked that Hua Hua’s skin couldn’t adapt. Consequently, her desire to be jealous vanished. “Does Hua Hua want to go home?”

“Leave this desert?” Hua Suihe looked down and pondered for a good while, unable to think of anything else fun to do. “Then let’s take that path too. I don’t know where they got those camels, but I want to ride one too.”

“I’ll find one for Hua Hua.”

Ye Susheng did not have absolute control over this dungeon, nor could she take Hua Hua out of the dungeon via teleportation. This Tunnel was a mandatory path to meet the clearance conditions; without entering it, one would never find the Desert Edge. Ye Susheng could naturally move through it without hindrance, but she was worried she wouldn’t be able to speed-run Hua Suihe through it. If another accident occurred where she teleported away alone and left Hua Hua behind, it would be extremely dangerous. Bringing a ‘vehicle’ was the safest option.
