Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 119
Chapter 119
Hua Suihe and Ye Susheng’s journey wasn’t nearly as arduous. After boarding the bus, they arrived at the small town in about an hour.
Ye Susheng was worried that Hua Suihe hadn’t had a proper breakfast, and since the desolate little town held no interest for them, she simply teleported them back home.
In the past, she would deliberately take the bus, subway, or high-speed rail with Hua Hua-traveling in the most mundane way possible-just to keep her from realizing she was different. Now, she didn’t even bother acting anymore, opting for direct teleportation and blinks.
Hua Hua surely knew she wasn’t an ordinary human, yet she never showed the slightest bit of surprise. Ye Susheng wasn’t sure exactly how much Hua Hua understood about her.
Ye Susheng knew that while Hua Hua might be aware in her heart, she still needed to come clean.
Hua Suihe went into the bedroom to find a change of clothes, giving a heads-up before entering the bathroom. “I’m going to shower first. My skin feels so dry.”
Ye Susheng changed into her loungewear and took advantage of the time Hua Suihe was showering to prepare breakfast, so her wife could eat as soon as she finished.
Half an hour later, Hua Suihe walked out of the bathroom with damp hair, rubbing it with a dry towel.
Ye Susheng walked over to her, placing her hands on her shoulders and pushing her back into the bedroom. “Hua Hua, Hua Hua, breakfast is ready! It’s still a bit hot, so we can let it cool for a bit while I blow-dry your hair.”
Ye Susheng loved the task of drying her hair. She enjoyed the sensation of the damp strands slowly drying between her fingers. Besides, Hua Hua’s hair smelled wonderful right after a wash, and with its pinkish hue, Wifey Hua Hua truly looked like a flower spirit.
After ten minutes of blow-drying, it was finally time to eat.
Hua Suihe sat at the dining table and picked up a spoon to start her congee.
Ye Susheng sat beside her with a bowl of her own, but she didn’t touch it. Watching Hua Suihe eat so intently, she suddenly spoke up as if making small talk. “Hua Hua, are there only humans in your world?”
Hua Suihe swallowed her congee and said slowly, “No, there are many life forms. Animals, plants, microorganisms…”
“That’s not what I mean,” Ye Susheng interrupted. “I mean beings like us.”
Ye Susheng’s voice grew softer. “Beings like us who look like humans, but aren’t…”
Hua Suihe continued chewing on a piece of shrimp, showing no reaction to the words. “Hmm… there are legends about them.”
“But would you see them in reality?”
Hua Suihe shook her head. “I’ve never seen one, anyway.”
“Though, to the viewers in my livestream, I suppose I’m currently a legendary ghost.”
Ye Susheng fell silent instantly. Hua Hua had disappeared from the 3D world and become a person of the 2D world, and she was the culprit behind it all.
Ye Susheng cautiously asked the question that worried her most: “Does Hua Hua… still want to go back to that world?”
Hearing this, Hua Suihe put down her spoon and turned her gaze toward her. Her ink-black eyes stared into Ye Susheng’s slightly uneasy ones, the depth of her gaze leaving nowhere to hide.
“If I said I really do miss that world?” Seeing Ye Susheng’s visibly stunned expression, Hua Suihe added with a smile, “Would you be willing to let me go?”
Ye Susheng felt as if she were nailed to her chair. She sat motionless like a statue, fear gripping her heart like an invisible hand, squeezing and twisting.
An uncontrollable panic surfaced in Ye Susheng’s eyes. Fear turned into tears that spilled over as she called out with a trembling voice, “Hua Hua…”
Hua Suihe didn’t comfort her immediately. The curve of her lips seemed cold as she asked softly once more, “Would you let me go?”
Terrified by her attitude, Ye Susheng didn’t dare to wail out loud, fearing that Hua Hua wouldn’t comfort her like she used to. Unable to hold back her tears, she shook her head while choking back her emotions. “Hua Hua, don’t abandon me. Hua Hua, don’t go… Hua Hua…”
Hua Suihe tapped on the bowl in front of her, her tone carrying a hint of teasing. “The congee in front of you is getting cold, and you’re still not eating.”
“Hua Hua can’t go, Hua Hua…” Ye Susheng pulled her into her arms, burying her face in her shoulder and sobbing loudly. Her composure completely shattered as she apologized through her sobs, “I’m sorry, Hua Hua, it’s all my fault. Hua Hua, forgive me, waah… forgive me…”
