Chapter 160

Hua Suihe answered bluntly, “There’s no need to think it over.”

“Let’s call it here for today. I’ll stream again in a couple of days.”

Ye Susheng, who had been listening from the side, had no idea what was going on. Seeing Hua Suihe’s distracted expression, she couldn’t help worrying. “Hua Hua, what happened?”

Hua Suihe closed her eyes and shook her head. In a weak voice, she said, “I’m just a little sleepy. I want to take a nap.”

Ye Susheng pressed her lips together, the light in her eyes dimming a little. She carried Hua Suihe back to the bedroom, set her down on the bed, then climbed in beside her and lay down. She wrapped an arm around Hua Suihe’s waist and pressed herself close.

“Hua Hua, something’s on your mind.”

Hua Hua was clearly unhappy. But why? Was it because of her? Was the Thriller, which had yet to be completely resolved, troubling her?

“Hua Hua, you don’t have to worry about me…”

Hua Suihe turned over to face her, somewhat dissatisfied with what she’d said. “If I don’t worry about you, who am I supposed to worry about?”

“I was thinking, you’ve been dragging your feet and refusing to get a marriage certificate with me. If you never recover in the future, then I’ll never truly be able to marry you, will I?”

“Hua Hua!” Ye Susheng called her name in a fluster. “Hua Hua, don’t think like that. As long as Hua Hua doesn’t mind me, we can get the certificate anytime.”

If resolving the Thriller would make things difficult for Hua Hua, then they didn’t have to resolve it. All she wanted was for Hua Hua to be happy.

“Dummy.” Hua Suihe rubbed her hair, but before long, her gaze drifted off again.

Seeing that she still wasn’t quite herself, Ye Susheng held her even tighter and stopped disturbing her with questions.

After Ye Susheng’s thoughts had also grown tangled and chaotic, Hua Suihe suddenly said, “It’ll be fine. I’ll make sure you look beautiful when you appear on our marriage certificate.”

Hua Suihe turned away with her back to Ye Susheng, yawned, and said sleepily, “Let’s sleep first. We’ll talk after I wake up.”

As always, Ye Susheng didn’t need to sleep, but she spent that night lying there in extreme unease. Every so often, she would check Hua Suihe’s breathing to confirm that Hua Hua was still there.

Fortunately, nothing happened all night.

Early the next morning, Hua Hua woke up and urged Ye Susheng to make breakfast. After they hurriedly finished eating, she pulled Ye Susheng out to go shopping.

Ye Susheng didn’t know how Hua Suihe had become so energetic after sleeping for a day, but she was willing to go out with Hua Hua.

Hua Suihe led her straight to a jewelry store with a clear purpose.

The sales associates at the jewelry store clearly recognized her. They had seen her appear in the various players’ livestreams, and today, they had finally met her in person.

One person had come to browse the jewelry store. Oh-perhaps two people.

They couldn’t see Ye Susheng’s presence, but when they thought of her being there, the staff didn’t quite dare come over to serve Hua Suihe.

Hua Suihe didn’t notice these details. Standing in front of the diamond ring counter, she said, “I’d like to choose a pair of diamond rings. May we try some on?”

A female sales associate braced herself and walked over with a smile. “Hello, ma’am. Are you looking for wedding rings?”

Hua Suihe pointed at several styles. “Take these out for me to see.”

When Ye Susheng saw the sparkling diamond rings, she couldn’t look away either. She knew that humans exchanged diamond rings at weddings, symbolizing an eternal promise of love between newlyweds.

Noticing Ye Susheng’s interest in the rings, Hua Suihe deliberately let her look first. “Which one do you like?”

Without the slightest hesitation, Ye Susheng pointed to the pink diamond ring. It was the color of Hua Hua’s hair. A pink heart was wrapped in tiny glittering diamonds, with a rose gold band. It was simple and elegant, yet still dreamlike. The ring wasn’t large, so it could be worn in daily life as well.

Hua Suihe took it out at once and tried it on Ye Susheng’s finger, only to discover that the size fit unexpectedly well.

When Hua Suihe put on the other one, it was just a little loose. The staff immediately said they could rush the resizing, and it would be ready that afternoon.
Just like that, the rings were settled on in no time.

After paying the deposit and walking out of the shop, Ye Susheng finally snapped out of her daze. “Hua Hua, our wedding rings… are bought?”

“Of course.” Hua Suihe’s tone was light as she led Ye Susheng to the wedding planning company. She quickly finalized the venue and theme, moving from negotiation to paying the deposit with smooth efficiency. Ye Susheng trailed after her like an accessory, watching as Hua Hua handled everything in perfect order.

Ye Susheng understood only one thing: three days from now was an auspicious day, suitable for weddings.

Meaning their wedding would be held in three days.

“Hua Hua, we…” Ye Susheng felt lost and helpless. She had done absolutely nothing today. She hadn’t helped Hua Hua at all, and she could sense it too-Hua Hua was in a terrible hurry.

“What is it?” Hua Suihe took out her phone to look up guides and see what else they needed, then directly asked the company’s team to help prepare or purchase it.

For the wedding dresses, they would simply use the red and white sets from their previous wedding photoshoot.

Next, they just had to notify a few friends symbolically to attend the wedding. It wasn’t like there were many people they could invite anyway, and Ye Susheng didn’t have a single friend at all.

After running around for the entire day, they finally went back to pick up the diamond rings before dark. Hua Suihe was so tired she stretched several times.

Ye Susheng had been silent the whole time. After following her home, tears began to fall in streams. The moment the door closed, she hugged Hua Hua and pinned her against it, sobbing loudly.

“Hua Hua, are you hiding something from me? Wuuuu…”

“Are you… are you going to… after you finish holding the wedding with me… wuuuu…”

Ye Susheng had always been sensitive by nature. Today, Hua Suihe had been busy preparing for the wedding right in front of them, and after an entire day of rushing around, she hadn’t had time to tend to Ye Susheng’s emotions. So Ye Susheng’s thoughts had spiraled further and further, leaving her more and more frightened.

Hua Suihe let her hold on and cry for a while before she couldn’t help letting out a soft laugh. She raised a hand to wipe away Ye Susheng’s tears. “Oh, Little Kitten, don’t cry. Listen to me now, okay?”

Ye Susheng stopped crying and stared at her with tearful, sniffling eyes, looking so wronged that Hua Suihe’s heart went soft.

“Don’t cry, don’t cry.” Hua Suihe cupped her face. “We’ve already found a way to deal with Thriller.”

“The reason the wedding is set for three days from now is because Ye Zi will be back to her most beautiful self in three days. In three days, Thriller will disappear completely, and Ye Zi won’t have to work for the troupe anymore. It’s a wonderful day, so that’s why the wedding is set for then.”

Ye Susheng was smart. The moment she heard that explanation, she knew it was terribly forced.

She didn’t believe it, so she couldn’t smile.

In the silent stare-down, Hua Suihe lost. The smile at the corner of her lips faded.

“I want to marry the you from three days from now. Not a single day later.”

Ye Susheng lowered her head and pressed it against Hua Suihe’s shoulder. “Hua Hua, if you don’t tell me, I won’t be able to feel at ease…”

Hua Suihe’s rigid body gradually softened. As if all strength had left her, she finally compromised and told the truth. “Killing Thriller might damage your data and affect your memories. But if we don’t kill it, we won’t be able to maintain things for much longer. You’ll become it.”

How could she possibly not be afraid? She had only been forcing herself to hold on.

The wedding was set for three days from now because there were only two days left.

Within two days, she had to make a decision.

If she didn’t repair the data, Ye Zi would be completely taken over by the Thriller Will. If she did repair the data, the one who came back might be the amnesiac NPC Ye Susheng.

But the wedding she was preparing was for the lover right in front of her.

No matter which of those outcomes came to pass, she couldn’t bear it. If the person three days from now was no longer the one before her eyes, then there would be no point in holding the wedding at all.
