Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 25
“Given the lesson from the last time that pest appeared…” Ye Susheng raised her sickle slightly, the blade resting on everyone’s necks, stained with blood. In an instant, the air turned cold and deadly.
“Cutting off your heads and planting puppet heads is the safest way.”
“Sister Susheng, I can protect Sister Hua!” one of the little girls immediately called out, eager to prove her loyalty.
Ye Susheng’s gaze fell on her. She looked a bit familiar. Fixing her eyes on the girl’s green pupils, the sickle at her throat split into black threads that burrowed into her eyes, flipping both eyeballs over.
“I’ll act as your cataract and blind you.”
The little girl: …
No one else dared to speak. If they had puppet heads implanted, they would die-Ye Susheng could then control their corpses through the puppet heads to perform simple actions.
Still thinking from Hua Suihe’s perspective, the girl pleaded, “Sister Susheng, if Sister Hua sees us moving like corpses, unable to do anything, she’ll feel guilty for failing to teach us.”
“So Sister Susheng, you could just use Puppet Threads on us.”
Implanting Puppet Threads didn’t require cutting off their heads, so they wouldn’t die.
Ye Susheng could still command them through the Puppet Threads, and this way, no one could harm Hua Suihe.
The demon lowered her gaze, a faint smile on her lips. “Your lives are worthless.”
With the cold of the blade almost severing her neck, the girl spoke quickly: “But if Anomaly corpses are left, they’ll mutate!”
She had participated in the previous instance, when Ye Susheng had warned all the Anomalies not to let Hua Suihe notice anything strange.
So she gambled that Ye Susheng would still care about this.
As expected, their necks weren’t cut-she was saved.
Ye Susheng truly hadn’t thought of this. Originally, she had already marginalized Hua Suihe in the task assignments, but the instance system cut in and directly gave Hua Hua a teaching mission.
It even saw through Hua Hua’s little money-grubber nature, luring her with a high salary.
No matter-she would arrange everything from behind the scenes.
Without further discussion, Ye Susheng planted Puppet Threads into everyone’s bodies. The bloody sickle turned back into a black mist and returned to her.
“Hide your ugly true forms. You are not allowed to harm Hua Suihe. Listen to her.”
Realizing they wouldn’t die, the children all responded in unison, full of energy: “Yes!!”
Youyou is so cool. They would support Youyou as their leader!
Ye Susheng skillfully issued a warning of spiritual pressure to all the Anomalies: since Hua Hua would be moving into the school, they should avoid people when feeding or transforming into their monstrous forms.
Work time had come.
The blood-red full moon in the sky looked like a gaping maw. Under its crimson light, everyone was running madly. The dormitory building was just ahead, but Death was already upon them.
The moonlight stretched her graceful silhouette, making it long and slender. A black smoke rod appeared in her hand, which she toyed with casually. As she watched the crowds rushing toward her, she curled her lips into a faint smile.
Her voice was ghostly and plaintive, like a sound that could sap one’s spirit. “You were supposed to return to the dormitory on time after break. Why can’t you listen?”
…
Hua Suihe was afraid she wouldn’t wake up in the morning, so she set her alarm half an hour early.
With class at nine, she got up at seven-thirty.
She spent half an hour getting ready, grabbed her textbooks, and left the house listlessly.
She happened to bump into Ye Susheng, who had just refreshed at exactly eight o’clock.
“Hua Hua!”
Ye Susheng’s clothes had already been refreshed-she was now wearing a red satin mermaid dress. She opened her arms wide and pulled Hua Hua into a tight hug.
Hua Suihe closed her eyes, nuzzling into her neck affectionately before stepping back. “I’m heading to school now.”
“Hua Hua, you haven’t had breakfast yet.”
“No time.” Hua Suihe floated out the door, as if she’d returned to her days of rushing to early morning classes, sleepy and with no appetite.
Note: “Hua Hua” is a nickname for Hua Suihe.
Hua Hua no longer greeted her enthusiastically after work like before, all because of working to earn money.
Hua Hua didn’t have time for breakfast either, she had to rush to school.
Why did she have to come home every day? If she didn’t come back but stayed at school to prepare breakfast for Hua Hua in advance, and then picked her up at the school gate, Hua Hua would have breakfast to eat.
She stood at the doorway, watching in the direction Hua Suihe left. Hua Hua got into the car without looking back at her.
The drive took half an hour, and Hua Suihe got out at the school gate.
After all, it was her first time teaching students, so she was a bit nervous. She held her book and read it over and over on the way, walking with her head down, flipping through the pages.
“Teacher Hua!”
Hua Suihe was startled. She turned around and saw the security guard at the school gate grinning and greeting her.
Yesterday, the security guard was still shy and covering his face, but today he was cheerful, and even knew her name.
“Good morning, big brother.”
She put away her book, got on the little green car, and told the driver she was going to the Youth Class.
When she arrived, there were still ten minutes before class started. It was the students’ break time, and the classroom was lively and noisy. Not wanting to disturb their mood, Hua Suihe squatted outside for ten minutes.
To look like a teacher, Hua Suihe wore a white shirt with a black pencil skirt, put on a pair of non-prescription glasses, and tied her hair in a low ponytail.
Class time arrived.
Hua Suihe lightly straightened her sleeves, hugged her books, and walked into the classroom.
“Welcome, Teacher Hua Hua!”
The children’s voices were tender and rang out in unison throughout the classroom.
Hua Suihe stared blankly at the students below the podium. They stood up, laughing and applauding, welcoming her arrival.
Looking back, she saw on the blackboard a chalk-written “Welcome Teacher Hua Hua,” surrounded by many drawn flowers.
“Oh, you’re all too cute!” Hua Suihe’s face was full of smiles. “Thank you, everyone. I’m very happy to meet you.”
The children in the Youth Class were eight or nine, some eleven or twelve, all at a very lively and energetic age.
But when Hua Suihe taught them, she could still feel a bit of dullness. If she didn’t deliberately interact with the students, they would sit up straight and follow the rules strictly.
After class, no students came up to ask questions.
“Does anyone have any questions?”
“Teacher Hua Hua!”
Youyou raised her hand under Hua Suihe’s expectant gaze. She took a kapok flower from her drawer and ran up with her little legs.
Youyou placed the flower in Hua Suihe’s hand and said crisply, “This is for Teacher Hua Hua.”
She showed a shy smile. “Teacher, my name is Youyou.”
Hua Suihe immediately recognized her as the child she met at the hospital. She gently patted her head. “I remember you. Thank you for your flower.”
Class time ended. Hua Suihe said goodbye to the students, walked out of the classroom with a cheerful step, and looked up to see Su Sheng waiting at the door.
Hua Suihe hooked her arm, surprised, “Ye, why are you here?”
“Hua Hua hasn’t had breakfast yet.” Su Sheng took out the steamed bun and soy milk she had been holding.
Hua Hua exaggeratedly exclaimed, “Wife, you’re so thoughtful!”
Su Sheng took the book from her hands, freeing her up to eat the bun.
Several heads poked out from the classroom door, secretly watching.
“Teacher Hua Hua is so pretty, no wonder Su Sheng likes her so much.”
“Teacher Hua Hua smells so nice, how does Su Sheng resist not eating her up?”
“If we gossip, she can hear us.”
“She doesn’t care about us right now anyway.”
