Chapter 53

Hua Suihe ignored the barrage comments as usual.

The two of them were impressively good at holding back. Even when things got heated, they still insisted on staying under the covers and just chatting-keeping the stream squeaky clean.

The last day arrived.

Out of basic human concern, Hua Suihe wanted to go to the Medical Point early to check on the injured guests.

After lunch, Ye Susheng took Hua Suihe to the Manor’s Medical Point. It was a three-story clinic.

There was a sign over the entrance with the three big characters “Medical Point.” Once inside, the place turned out to be fairly spacious, but it was quiet everywhere, with no one in sight.

Ye Susheng explained first, “They’re all in their rooms. Everyone only got minor injuries. It might’ve been their first time running into something like this, so they were a bit shaken. I also arranged a psychologist for them. Most of them have already rested up.”

Hua Suihe nodded in approval. “Ye Zi, you’re so thoughtful.”

Ye Susheng’s eyes curved as she smiled, volunteering to lead the way. “I’ll take Hua Hua to visit them~”

Hua Suihe followed behind her up the stairs to the second floor. She randomly knocked on a ward door. Not long after, a female doctor in a white coat opened it from inside.

“Butler Su Sheng, Second Miss, you’re here.”

Hua Suihe dipped her chin with a smile. “Mm. We’re here to visit the patients.”

“Please come in.” The doctor stepped aside. From the doorway, they could see the hospital bed at a glance. Sitting on it was a teenage boy in a patient gown, and his gaze also shifted toward them.

Hua Suihe and Ye Susheng walked in and stopped beside the bed.

The boy’s eyes tracked their movement, but it was like his brain couldn’t quite keep up. A white neck brace was strapped around his neck, restricting him.

Hua Suihe immediately spotted the Identity Card hanging on his chest and greeted him first. “Hello, Mr. Wei. Is your neck injured?”

Young Master Wei reflexively lifted both hands to steady the neck brace. “I’m fine. Just slept wrong. A stiff neck, that’s all.”

The doctor at the side picked up the conversation at just the right time. “Second Miss, there’s no need to worry. Young Master Wei simply fainted from being frightened by the roses. Later, the bodyguards carried him here, but because they held him improperly, they accidentally twisted his neck.”

“I see.” Hua Suihe nodded in understanding. “Then do you feel uncomfortable anywhere else?”

Young Master Wei stared at her blankly. He wanted to shake his head to show he was fine, but he couldn’t move even a little, so he could only speak again. “I’m fine. Tonight I’ll go back and attend the banquet, reunite with my friends.”

“Okay, okay. Then get some good rest.”

There really wasn’t much to talk about with someone she wasn’t close to. After a few polite lines, Hua Suihe had Ye Susheng take her to the next ward.

After they left, the doctor closed the ward door.

She walked back and removed the boy’s head.

There was no neck inside the brace-his head was being supported entirely by it.

“Before you go to the banquet tonight, I’ll stitch the neck brace up properly for you. Then you won’t need to hold it with your hands.”

The head lying in the female doctor’s hands could still talk. “So I’ll never be able to have a normal neck again?”

“You won’t need a neck in the future. If you don’t want the brace, you can go without it too. But you must wear it tonight, or you’ll scare Second Miss.”

“I understand.”

In the hallway, the door of another ward was knocked on.

Hua Suihe continued visiting the guests who had suffered some ‘minor superficial injuries.’

This time as well, it was a doctor who opened the door.

The patient lying on the bed was a delicate, refined woman. A blanket covered her, two tall pillows propped her up, and she held a handheld mirror, studying her reflection. She gave no reaction at all to the sudden appearance of Ye Susheng and Hua Suihe.
Hua Suihe tried a tentative greeting. “Hello?”

She waited a moment, but no reply came, so Hua Suihe decided to talk to the doctor instead.

“Second Young Miss Hua doesn’t need to worry,” the doctor said. “This Ms. Li just took a fall. The bruise on her lower back has already been treated and is recovering. She’s been resting here for the past two days-she’s fine now.”

Only then did the woman on the bed finally deign to lower the mirror in her hand. “I’ll go to the banquet hall tonight. Once the dinner’s over, I’ll go home.”

“Then get some good rest. We’ll be going now.”

Hua Suihe left the ward with Ye Susheng. After stepping out, Ye Susheng casually pulled the door shut behind them.

Hua Suihe didn’t move. She turned her head and asked, “Mr. Zhuang arranged a grand banquet for tonight, right?”

Ye Susheng nodded. She stepped forward, took Hua Suihe’s hand, and led her toward the next room. “Even though Mr. Zhuang isn’t here, I handled the banquet myself. It’ll go on as scheduled tonight.”

Hua Suihe followed her pace. “Alright. After something this big, everyone could use a chance to relax.”

Back in the ward, the doctor lifted the blanket covering the woman, revealing a scatter of body parts lying outside her abdomen.

The doctor shoved all those pieces back into the gaping tear in her belly, then picked up the needle and thread that were only half-finished and continued the job.

“This stitch is only a temporary closure,” the doctor said. “If the thread comes loose later, remember to come back for more stitches. If you don’t, there’s no way this will hold your stomach and intestines in.”

The woman didn’t lift her mirror to look. Her expression was gloomy. “I know.”

The doctor comforted her. “Even if you wear a crop top and the stitched wound shows, you’ll still look beautiful. Don’t worry-it won’t affect your looks.”

“But don’t wear it tonight. It doesn’t fit Second Young Miss Hua’s aesthetic.”

Hua Suihe visited several more people in a row. One of them was a familiar-looking girl-someone she’d met before at the pet hospital-but the girl didn’t seem to remember Hua Suihe at all.

She kept calling her “Second Young Miss Hua” this and “Second Young Miss Hua” that. If nothing else, players really were the most dedicated actors.

Out of everyone Hua Suihe checked on, that girl was the healthiest. She was also the first to get out of bed and walk around. She said she’d twisted her ankle yesterday, and the black-clad bodyguards had brought her here to rest. If the doctor hadn’t insisted, she would’ve wanted to go straight back after applying the medicated liniment.

The girl spoke openly and naturally, so Hua Suihe chatted with her a bit longer.

By the time they finally left, Ye Susheng was so jealous she forcibly dragged Hua Suihe away. She shut the door with a flick of her hand, cutting off the sounds from inside.

Amused, Hua Suihe poked Ye Susheng’s puffed-up cheek. “Jealous?”

“What is there to be jealous about?” Ye Susheng denied it. “She’s just a stranger. Besides, you won’t see her again anyway.”

“How do you know I won’t see her again?” Hua Suihe teased on purpose, then analyzed it like she had evidence. “I’ve noticed that not all the players in the Yu Sheng Troupe are new. Some people come back more than once.”

Ye Susheng didn’t seem to care. “Whether they can come back again isn’t up to them.”

No points to buy a revival card-if they died, they died.

Hua Suihe only heard the tsundere in her tone and took the initiative to interpret what she really meant. “So you can refuse to accept players? Not give them missions? Freeze them out?”

Ye Susheng: …?

Her wife’s train of thought was so interesting.

Then Ye Susheng suddenly realized something was off. “Hua Hua, do you have points?”

“Yeah.” Hua Suihe had even checked the leaderboard-her points were actually ranked first among the new players. Hehe.

“Then can your points be exchanged for items?”

Hua Suihe’s smile stiffened. She stared at her blankly. “What do you mean?”

“Aren’t points only for ranking?”
