My Brother’s an Angel—Know What I Bean? - Chapter 3
I sat on the bed, gazing at the demon before me with mixed feelings.
Apparently, his name was Lanyin Moying.
I asked, “How come you have the same name as the Demon King?”
The demon sat sprawled on a stool, legs spread wide.
“Are you crazy? Who would dare share a name with the legendary Demon King Lanyin Moying—the great and mighty, handsome and wise, unrivaled ruler who looks down upon all creation and bends the world to his will?”
“Has it occurred to you that I might actually be him?”
I wanted to hide under my blankets, clutch my head, and scream.
No way, no way, no way?!
Why would the Demon King answer my summons?
Lanyin Moying seemed to guess what I was thinking.
He snorted. “I don’t know either. I was dragged here against my will.”
“Right. Like anyone would believe that. You clearly walked out on your own.”
Lanyin Moying stretched his long legs out lazily.
“Since I’m already here, shouldn’t I at least see who summoned me before I leave?”
I probed, “Then can you go back by yourself now?”
“Since I’m already here, shouldn’t I at least have a drink of water before I leave?”
Lanyin Moying picked up the cup on the table.
My eyes widened, and I reached toward him. “That’s mine…”
Lanyin Moying’s thin lips had already touched the rim. His handsome face instantly drained of color.
“Aaaaaah! Did we just kiss indirectly? That was this king’s first kiss…”
My fear vanished without a trace.
Annoyed, I snapped, “What is wrong with you?!”
Had the Demon King been cooped up in the Abyss for so long that he’d broken his brain?!
I ordered him out. “Hurry up and leave!”
Lanyin Moying took a sip of water, the corner of his mouth curling upward.
“Don’t be so quick to chase me away. Aren’t you curious?”
Curiosity killed the cat.
I had no intention of listening to a demon.
Demons were wicked creatures who did nothing but lie.
I poured magic into my tail and tried to create another rift.
Lanyin Moying caught its tip and praised me.
“Wow. Such pure, powerful energy!”
He pinched out the flames.
I glared at him. “Try mocking me one more time.”
Lanyin Moying raised both hands in surrender and smiled.
“You wound me, Xiaoya. I meant every word of that praise.”
Before I could lose my temper,
Lanyin Moying’s smile faded. He turned solemn.
“Are you honestly not afraid? You’re a demon living in a nest of angels. You’ve got more nerve than I do.”
Sure enough, demons were full of lies.
I sneered. “I’m not a demon. I’m an angel.”
Lanyin Moying took my tail and rubbed it. “I’ve never seen an angel with a demon’s tail.”
“That only proves how ignorant you are! My brother knows about them!”
Lanyin Moying suddenly burst out laughing. “Is that what the sanctimonious birdman told you?”
“Don’t you dare talk about my brother that way!”
Lanyin Moying stood.
He was tall and powerfully built, and he advanced on me with an oppressive air.
I took two steps back. Was he about to attack me out of embarrassment and rage?
I was just about to use a communication array to call Jialan for help
when I discovered the signal had been blocked. Nothing I tried could get through.
Cold sweat poured down my back.
Lanyin Moying’s chest muscles filled my vision.
His smile was not quite a smile. “Don’t even think about calling that useless brother of yours to interrupt us.”
Dark mist enveloped me. My holy light could not gather within it.
I shrieked, “My brother is an archangel, don’t you know?!”
Lanyin Moying’s mood brightened considerably, and his aggressive presence pressed closer. “Heh heh heh. Even if you’re not curious, I’m telling you anyway. Not only are you a demon, you’re also…”
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
Jialan’s gentle voice came from outside.
“Little sister, has something happened?”
