My Househusband Is the Eldritch Boss - Chapter 2
When I woke, it was already eight in the morning.
I shot upright. “Did Percy and Avery get to kindergarten?”
Arno hugged me from behind, resting his chin on my shoulder. His voice was languid. “Don’t worry, Gege. I already took them.”
Relieved, I went limp against him.
“The bookstore can wait until this afternoon.”
Arno heartily agreed. Like a snake, he slipped beneath the covers.
My eyes lost focus. My mind went blank, capable of nothing but surrendering to the pleasure.
Bright sunlight streamed through the window.
Arno wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his face against the nape of my neck. The moment I shifted, something clamped around my ankle.
I sighed helplessly. “You’re holding me too tightly, baby.”
Arno shook his head. “It isn’t enough. I wish I could melt together with Gege.”
I fondly pinched his chest.
I was about to speak when the detector on the nightstand suddenly began beeping.
Base issued those devices specifically to warn us of surprise aberration attacks. They normally activated only when one came within ten meters.
So what was happening now?
There was no one within ten meters except Arno and me.
Arno poked his head up curiously. “Gege, why is it making noise for no reason?”
I shook my head and made up the first excuse that came to mind. “Maybe the battery’s dead.”
I reached over and switched it off.
Arno pouted. “What a useless thing. Gege only charged it yesterday.”
I readily agreed.
Cheered again, Arno wound all four limbs around me and curled up in my arms. “Let’s catch up on sleep together, Gege.”
I brushed his tousled hair back and kissed his forehead. “All right.”
Waves sounded in the distance. Gulls cried now and then.
As I gazed at the blue sky and white clouds outside the window, my heart slowed with them.
That sleep carried me into a dream of the past.
I had been an orphan, raised from childhood by an organization of assassins.
During one important mission, a bullet struck a vital point. I thought my life was over.
Instead, I opened my eyes inside a book—a dark BL novel about inhuman beings.
An aberration had emerged from the deep sea and took savage delight in devouring humans. Its true form was terrifying: countless tentacles and a body ten stories tall.
Humanity formed a special squad to destroy it, and the novel’s two male leads were both members.
Through mission after mission, each a brush with death, they fell in love.
Unfortunately, the aberration was simply too powerful. It made the ocean rise and drown the entire planet.
As humanity faced extinction, the two leads confessed their love. They shared one final kiss, then sank together into the lightless sea.
The novel became wildly popular on the strength of that tragic romance between equals.
I had read it in my spare time. Their love story hadn’t moved me much.
The deep-sea aberration had.
What overwhelming destructive power.
I wanted to test myself against it.
And then I actually landed in its world.
My system gave me one mission—protect the two male leads—then went offline.
With no other choice, I joined the Aberration Elimination Squad.
On my very first mission, I happened to find Arno drowning.
Back then, his hair was cut in a neat bob. With that androgynous face, I mistook him for a woman.
I naïvely thought true love had finally found me and happily carried him home.
Then he pulled open his pants, introduced me to little Arno, and explained that he was an orphan. Where he came from, whoever found you had to marry you and take responsibility.
The sky might as well have fallen.
Although my body possessed two sets of reproductive organs, I had always been straight.
My greatest wish was to find a woman who understood me and didn’t mind my body, then build a little family together.
If she wanted children, we would have them. If she didn’t, the two of us could live happily on our own.
Who could have guessed that Arno simply wouldn’t understand the word no?
Day after day, he paraded that impossibly beautiful face in front of me, called me Gege in the sweetest voice, and offered to be my wife.
How was a sucker for pretty faces like me supposed to resist?
At first, sheer willpower kept me firm.
Then, one night when I was drunk, Arno’s attentive service showed me the heights of bliss.
That was when I realized gender didn’t matter nearly as much as having someone to share your life with.
If I wanted children, I could give birth to them myself.
And just like that, he bent me.
Then I gave birth to two healthy, unbelievably adorable babies: our son, Percy, and our daughter, Avery.
The four of us lived happily together.
