“Beizi, are you sure you didn’t see anyone on patrol that night? The boss is about to lose his mind looking for his lover!”

“Of course he is. That snake beastman is gorgeous. The boss treasures him more than his own eyes.”

“The boss must’ve gone too hard and scared him off. I heard the guy was covered in marks the boss left on him—tempting as hell… You don’t think someone snatched him up and hid that beauty away for himself, do you?”

I kept my head down. Cold sweat soaked my back as I answered in a muffled voice, “Didn’t see him.”

They gave an unconcerned *oh*.

“Talking to you about this is pointless.”

“Such a beauty, and I’ve never even seen you give him a second look.”

“You’re like a damn monk. All you ever do is go home and sleep.”

I ignored them and left.

When I got home, four steaming dishes and a bowl of soup were already waiting on the table.

I had barely taken off my coat when someone pinned me against the entryway wall and sealed my lips with his.

“Baby, I missed you so much.”

“Want kisses.”

My shirt was pushed up. A sharp ache bloomed across my chest.

“Want to eat… you.”

He held me, kissing and biting. Heat flooded my body, turning my legs weak.

I shoved at him. “I’m hungry. Let’s eat first…”

Yin Luo knelt in front of me and rested his cheek against my thigh, gazing up with the most pitiful expression imaginable.

His long lashes trembled. A scarlet forked tongue swept over his lips, and pink hearts practically floated in his eyes.

“Baby, I’m hungry too. Can I eat you first?”

Platinum-blond hair. Pink eyes. Striking, sculpted features.

He was like a poppy—vivid, beautiful, and poisonous.

His nose was straight, and he knew how to thrust.

His tongue was forked, and he knew how to eat.

A silver snake with an off-the-charts lust quotient.

Wet sounds filled the entryway.

I grabbed his hair and rose onto my toes, whimpering and trembling against the wall.

My coworkers had been wrong.

I did go home every day.

But I wasn’t going home to sleep.
