My Nonhuman Husband Is Possessive - Chapter 2
I died.
Then I came back to life.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself nestled in soft pink bedding. A strong, muscular arm lay across my chest.
It belonged to my husband, Jiang Yan.
Why was I in bed?
When the King of Hell told me it was time to go, I had deliberately chosen a beautiful way to die—I left this world in the bathtub.
Yet now I was perfectly dry, smelled wonderful, and had even been changed into my favorite nightgown.
Had Jiang Yan changed me?
But I had been dead at the time. How had he dared cuddle a corpse to sleep?
Our eyes met.
The man woke too. He calmly brushed the hair from my cheek, bent his head, and nuzzled the corner of my lips.
“Welcome home.”
“Baby, dinner’s ready. Come eat.”
I blinked. Before I could ask anything, my stomach growled.
In the kitchen, a plate of braised pork rice had just come off the stove, fragrant and colorful and perfect. I loved Jiang Yan’s braised pork rice. My eyes lit up, and I immediately dug in.
Jiang Yan disliked this sort of Earth food. As always, he sat beside me with a tube of nutrient solution, propping his chin on one hand as he watched me.
“Slow down.”
“No one’s going to take it from you.”
I ate myself blissful. Just like always, my husband pulled me into his arms afterward and rubbed my stomach.
Before my death, Jiang Yan hadn’t yet come home from work to cook. I had departed on an empty stomach. Now I was full, my waist no longer hurt, and my legs were no longer sore.
Only then did the horror of Jiang Yan catch up with me.
Wait.
How had he timed the meal so precisely that it was ready the instant he brought me back from the underworld?
I looked up again.
The man before me was tall and slender, with fair skin and a handsome, aloof elegance. He looked no different from an ordinary man.
Who could have guessed that he was a powerful nonhuman with immense psychic power and tens of thousands of soft, agile black tentacles capable of probing anywhere?
Not that there was much on Earth he particularly wanted to explore.
As for the place he visited most often…
Oh.
Some very adult images surfaced in my mind. My ears abruptly turned scarlet.
I ducked my head and shook it.
Get a grip, Shi Xiaxia!
Don’t forget that your husband, Jiang Yan, is an alien species who despises humanity!
For world peace—and to save your own life—you have to pull yourself together!
But in all honesty, when the King of Hell told me that my husband’s affection score had remained at zero for three years, I found it impossible to believe.
After all, Jiang Yan had indulged my every whim throughout our marriage. I barely had to lift a finger, and my biggest daily concern was how to spend the allowance on the card he’d given me.
We had never fought, not once. There had never been any conflict between us. I had always thought ours was a model marriage.
Then the King of Hell told me Jiang Yan didn’t love me. His hatred of humanity hadn’t changed at all.
I had felt utterly defeated.
Sigh.
Nonhumans really were too good at pretending!
My expression shifted by the second as I sighed, then drew a sharp breath. Jiang Yan docilely rubbed my stomach. Once I was comfortable and no longer overfull, his large hand began drifting lower, toward dangerous territory.
“Xiaxia, today is Harmony Day,” he reminded me gently.
His mouth remained a straight line, while his pupils glowed with a deep blue light.
Oh!
I froze, then saw the light.
It was Tuesday, an even-numbered day—the day we normally fulfilled our marital duties. Nonhumans were extremely particular about schedules.
No wonder Jiang Yan had died of rage. This was why!
His kiss soon descended.
Unlike the raw awkwardness of our newlywed days, after three years this intelligent nonhuman had clearly mastered the art of kissing.
First came the gentle sweep of his tongue, tracing the shape of my lips. Then he slowly coaxed my teeth apart, found that hint of sweetness, and tangled with me possessively.
My waist went weak, as uselessly as ever. He kissed me senseless.
By the time I was tossed among the clouds, death suddenly didn’t seem quite so frightening.
Aliens really were terrorists. What human could withstand that terrifying stamina?
Still unsatisfied, he bit my earlobe and murmured coaxingly, “Xiaxia, don’t leave me. I’ll grant any wish you have.”
Wish, wish.
To hell with wishes!
My eyes watered. “What if I want a star from the sky? Can you get me one?”
He tilted his head in thought and casually opened his control panel.
“It would be somewhat troublesome.”
“But if you like it, I’ll make it happen.”
Keep boasting. How could he possibly do that?
That night, after he cleaned me up and carried me back to bed, I was just drifting off when I heard him on the phone, filing a request to pry Uranus out of orbit and move it to Earth.
What?
Move what to Earth?
No way!
I snapped awake in terror and instinctively sealed his lips with mine, blinking frantically to signal that he should withdraw the request.
Jiang Yan paused. A soft, aroused sound escaped his throat before he could stop it.
My ears burned as I glared at him.
“Don’t make weird noises!”
“And keep it down. Is that something to be proud of?”
Little showed in Jiang Yan’s eyes. He ended the call and let his breathing settle. Then his large hand climbed around my waist, and he tilted his head with perfect candor.
“Why can’t I make noise?”
…
Just as I was about to be kissed senseless again, I heard him chuckle against my chest. “Louder, baby. Doesn’t it feel good?”
The next morning, my entire body ached.
That filthy extraterrestrial Jiang Yan!
Even a clay figurine would have exploded from mortification. I shoved my feet into my slippers and charged downstairs for revenge.
“You pervert! Prepare to die!”
Jiang Yan stood in the foyer and gave me a puzzled look.
I yanked open the refrigerator and, without hesitation, gulped down an entire bottle of alien electrolyte water.
“Scared now, aren’t you?”
Jiang Yan: ?
Hmph. He was still pretending to be calm!
Rumor online said alien electrolyte water was extracted by electrocuting aliens until they lost bladder control. I’d just swallowed a whole bottle in front of him.
Surely he was trembling in fear now?
