Shen Que stared at that message for a long time, his mind constantly replaying the changes in Meng Zhiyi over the past period.

As if making some kind of decision, he removed the friend who had been in his blacklist for two years.

After finishing, he returned to his study and turned on the computer.

Shen Que had already begun to gradually take over matters at the company. As long as there was nothing going on at school, he would stay at his own apartment.

At this moment, he was sitting in front of the computer, his face serious as he stared at the screen.

Suddenly, a ding broke the silence.

Before Shen Que had time to see who the message was from, it dinged again and again, more than a dozen times in quick succession.

Meng Zhiyi had sent him over a dozen messages in one go.

[If we’re going to date, then let’s do it seriously.]

[I have a few conditions. You need to read them carefully. If you can’t do it, then forget it.]

[First, no other girls are allowed in your car.]

[Second, you have to bring me breakfast every day and care about all my meals!]

[Third, you have to buy me gifts for every holiday. (I don’t want cheap ones!)]

[Fourth, you must reply to my messages instantly and answer my calls immediately.]

[Fifth, you must publicly acknowledge that I am your girlfriend. I need absolute security.]

[Sixth, and most importantly! Keep your distance from Song Wei-preferably no contact at all!]

[These are the requirements I can think of for now. The rest I’ll add later.]

[I’ll give you one night to think about it. If you can do it, we’ll make it official tomorrow.]

Shen Que carefully read through the messages Meng Zhiyi sent, imagining what she looked like as she typed out these conditions, and couldn’t help but curve his lips into a smile.

He didn’t even hesitate and replied directly: [Okay.]

After replying, Shen Que clicked into Meng Zhiyi’s Moments, trying to find a photo of her.

However, although there were many photos of her in her Moments, none of them caught his eye.

Just by looking at the eyes, he could tell they weren’t her.

A bit regretful, he exited her Moments.

In the girls’ dormitory, Meng Zhiyi had thought Shen Que wouldn’t agree to her sixth condition.

After all, Song Wei was a special existence to him.

But when she saw his reply, the last bit of hope in Meng Zhiyi instantly vanished.

She threw her phone onto the bed, exasperated. “Damn it! Where did it go wrong?!”

In the quiet dorm, Lin Luoluo heard a loud ‘Duang’ and quickly covered the dim little desk lamp with her hand.

She cautiously turned to look at Meng Zhiyi’s bed, thinking her late-night studying had disturbed her.

“Sorry, did I disturb your rest?” Lin Luoluo mustered her courage and asked softly.

Hearing the voice, Meng Zhiyi poked her head out from behind the bed curtain and saw Lin Luoluo looking timidly at her.

“No, go ahead and keep reading.”

Lin Luoluo let out a small sigh of relief, then said, “If the light is too bright, I can dim it a bit more.”

Meng Zhiyi glanced at her lamp; the light was so dim it was barely there.

“If you dim it any more, your eyes will be done for. Brighten it up a bit, my curtain blocks the light, it won’t bother me.”

As she finished speaking, Lin Luoluo’s gaze toward her changed.

Her heart shifted toward this roommate who had so many negative rumors.

After Meng Zhiyi lay back down, Lin Luoluo finally smiled.

She stared at the desk lamp, a warm current rising in her heart.

Lin Luoluo thought, compared to her previous roommates, Meng Zhiyi was already very easy to get along with.

At least, she didn’t bully her like those others did.
That night, Meng Zhiyi couldn’t sleep.

When Shen Que called, she was still wide awake, staring blankly at the ceiling.

“What is it?” She answered the phone, her voice weak and listless.

“Didn’t sleep well?” Hearing her tone, Shen Que asked gently.

Meng Zhiyi was dazed for a few seconds, her sluggish mind slowly rebooting.

When she didn’t reply, Shen Que continued, “I bought breakfast. I’m downstairs at your dorm.”

“Huh? Why did you buy me breakfast?” Clearly, Meng Zhiyi had forgotten all about the messages she sent Shen Que last night.

Shen Que wasn’t angry. Instead, he patiently said, “Didn’t you say I should buy you breakfast every day?”

His words instantly triggered Meng Zhiyi’s memory. She sat up abruptly. “Damn, I totally forgot!”

“Wait for me, I’ll come down right now.”

Shen Que replied, “No rush, take your time. I’ll wait for you.”

Honestly, if you set aside the fixed CP in the original book, Shen Que really is a good choice for a partner.

At least, before he turned dark.

Shen Que had received the best education since childhood. He was emotionally stable, well-mannered, highly intelligent, and extremely devoted in relationships.

If Song Wei hadn’t done so many things to provoke him, Shen Que wouldn’t have turned dark, becoming a gloomy and obsessive person.

Whenever Meng Zhiyi thought about this, she couldn’t help but wonder if the author was really the character’s mother, actually putting a green hat on her own child.

But that had nothing to do with her. These people were just mission targets to her. All she needed to do was complete the task and get her reward.

Putting her thoughts aside, Meng Zhiyi quickly got up to wash, tied her long hair into a ponytail, and went downstairs in a strappy dress.

Downstairs, Shen Que’s appearance once again became the topic of conversation among the girls.

They all speculated whether he was waiting for Song Wei or Meng Zhiyi.

It didn’t take long for the news of Shen Que waiting downstairs to reach Song Wei’s ears.

“Weiwei, Shen Que must be here for you. He even brought breakfast. Hurry and go down,” Ding Yue rushed in from the balcony, excitedly telling Song Wei.

Song Wei was thrilled inside, but her face showed a troubled expression.

Her voice was soft as she said, “I don’t know if I should go down. If Meng Zhiyi sees me, she’ll go crazy again.”

“Oh, what are you afraid of? Did you forget that recording I sent you the other day? Shen Que already warned her not to mess with you anymore. With him protecting you, why are you still scared of that country bumpkin?”

As Ding Yue spoke, she pulled Song Wei outside.

“Go on, don’t keep him waiting too long.”

Song Wei let herself be half-pushed, half-pulled downstairs, her face full of joy as she walked toward Shen Que.

When Meng Zhiyi arrived, she saw Song Wei standing in front of Shen Que, looking shy and saying something.

Meng Zhiyi narrowed her eyes, a dangerous glint flashing in her gaze.

[Heh, men really are trash. Their words are as worthless as farts.]

[But this is good. It’ll make the mission easier.]

Her voice, full of cold mockery, reached Shen Que’s ears. He looked up and saw Meng Zhiyi standing not far away, her eyes brimming with sarcasm.

Shen Que pressed his lips together, his face darkening as he glanced at Song Wei. “I’ll say this one last time: don’t come near me at school.”

With that, he bypassed Song Wei and walked over to Meng Zhiyi.

Song Wei’s face paled, her smile faltering.

She tried to call out to Shen Que, but he ignored her completely.

Shen Que walked up to Meng Zhiyi and handed her the breakfast.

The next second, Meng Zhiyi slapped his hand away, looked at Shen Que with scorn, and said coldly, “This isn’t a garbage dump. I don’t take what others don’t want.”
