Shen Que’s sudden words nearly made Meng Zhiyi lose her temper.

She had just settled into her seat when she immediately lunged toward the middle of the front seats, raising her voice: “What did you just say?”

“We can try getting along,” Shen Que replied without turning his head.

Meng Zhiyi was stunned.

She slumped back into her seat as if drained of energy, her gaze complicated as she looked at Shen Que’s profile.

[Is something wrong here? Shen Que should absolutely hate me, then ruthlessly break off the engagement, and finally, for Song Wei’s sake, even try to send me to a mental hospital.]

[What does he mean by getting along with me? What’s there to get along about?]

Meng Zhiyi couldn’t make sense of it no matter how she tried, scratching her head in frustration.

No, she had to ask the System what was going on right now.

The rest of the ride was silent between the two.

As if trying to avoid Shen Que, Meng Zhiyi simply sat directly behind him, in a spot where she couldn’t even see him in the rearview mirror.

Shen Que was well aware that his words earlier had been abrupt, but he couldn’t care about that now.

He couldn’t figure out where Meng Zhiyi got all those bizarre conclusions, but he was certain he had absolutely no feelings for Song Wei.

Rather than let her keep imagining things, it was better to prove it with actions.

Anyway, after these few encounters, he couldn’t say he liked her, but at least he didn’t dislike Meng Zhiyi as much as before.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of the girls’ dormitory building.

Meng Zhiyi quickly got out of the car, didn’t even say goodbye, and dashed into the dormitory without looking back.

Leaning against the car door, Shen Que watched Meng Zhiyi’s fleeing figure, a look of helplessness in his eyes.

He didn’t leave immediately, but waited by the roadside.

Only after confirming that Meng Zhiyi had entered the dormitory safely did he drive away.

Upstairs, Meng Zhiyi stood on the balcony, watching the car drive off into the distance.

Then, she immediately opened the task page, wanting to see if her efforts lately had raised the Dislike Value at all.

But aside from some basic information about the target characters, the progress page that had been there before was now gone.

Meng Zhiyi’s expression grew serious: “Xiao Ba, come out.”

“I’m here~” The System’s voice appeared, sounding a bit cheerful.

“I want to check the Dislike Value progress.” Meng Zhiyi didn’t waste words and stated her request directly.

System: “Right now? Are you sure?”

The System’s counter-question made Meng Zhiyi sense something was off.

She pressed her lips together, instantly becoming cautious.

“What do you mean by that? Is there some condition for checking the progress?”

System: “It’s not exactly a condition. After the latest update to the task system, checking task progress now has a time limit.”

Meng Zhiyi: “So?”

System: “Aside from the System’s automatic broadcast when task progress changes, the rule for hosts actively checking progress is once every six months. So, host, are you sure you want to use your viewing privilege now?”

After hearing this, Meng Zhiyi let out a cold laugh: “Heh, hehehe…”

The System felt a chill down its back: “Host, please don’t laugh like that, you’re scaring me.”

Meng Zhiyi: “When did the task system update? Why didn’t I know?”

The System instantly lost its confidence, its voice weakening: “Uh… while you were asleep…”

Meng Zhiyi sneered, her gaze icy.

“Oh? So now you don’t even notify the host about upgrades? Then, can I just not do this task anymore?”

Meng Zhiyi usually seemed easygoing, but the System that had been with her for years knew she was not someone to mess with.
If truly angered, Meng Zhiyi would absolutely be capable of doing something as drastic as perishing together.

“No, Host, listen to my explanation!”

The System hurried to explain: “Because this mission was caused by a BUG, the System’s matching degree is still lacking. This means that all the settings of the mission system need to be rematched.”

“And the progress of rematching depends on how well the Host integrates with this world. So this time, the System update is random.”

Meng Zhiyi listened silently, estimating in her mind how much truth was in the System’s words.

The System knew Meng Zhiyi was not easy to fool. While she was deep in thought, it tried to show its sincerity again.

“Host, how about this? I’ll secretly grant you one permission.”

Meng Zhiyi retorted sarcastically, “Just once? Are you treating me like a beggar?”

“But I only have one. If I give you more, the Supreme God will notice and directly erase me. Then your thirty billion will go down the drain too.”

At the mention of thirty billion, Meng Zhiyi felt as if her fate was being gripped by the scruff of the neck.

“Fine, once is enough.”

Although dying was easy, she wanted even more to become a rich woman.

After compromising, the System opened the viewing permission for Meng Zhiyi.

When she saw the progress bar hadn’t moved at all, Meng Zhiyi nearly blacked out.

And when she saw Shen Que’s Dislike Value towards her drop from 98 to 97, she even felt like dying.

“Impossible!”

“Absolutely impossible!”

“There must’ve been an error during the System update. Restart it now!”

Seeing herself one step further from her thirty billion, Meng Zhiyi was on the verge of collapse.

The System mumbled, “The System doesn’t make mistakes. This is the real data.”

“Then what’s the point!” Meng Zhiyi gritted her teeth.

System: “Do you want to switch tracks? There’s still time to change to Favorability Value.”

“No!” Meng Zhiyi ground her molars hard, fiercely poking at Shen Que’s mission bar.

“I’m determined to be this vicious female supporting character!” With that, she directly closed the mission system interface.

The moment the interface closed, the System suddenly let out a barely audible chuckle.

Meng Zhiyi didn’t notice, instead slapping the wall in frustration.

“Since the first plan doesn’t work, I’ll use the second one!”

The System was curious: “What plan? Can I hear it?”

Meng Zhiyi: “Date Shen Que!”

“Uh…” The System questioned, “Are you sure this isn’t for Favorability Value?”

It remembered that many redemption missions in the industry involved winning over the protagonist and then dating them.

It had never heard of boosting Dislike Value by dating.

Meng Zhiyi let out a sinister laugh: “Who says dating is for Favorability Value?”

“I can pretend to date him first, and when he truly falls for me, I’ll strike hard, cheat on him, and ruthlessly dump him.”

“Heh heh heh… By then, Shen Que will definitely hate me to death.”

Meng Zhiyi’s villainous laughter made the System’s scalp tingle.

System: “Why do I feel like Shen Que will just go insane?”

After all, his setting was a hidden psycho.

Meng Zhiyi: “Let him. The crazier he gets, the more he hates me.”

“It’s settled then.”

“…As long as you like it.” The System said, then immediately went invisible.

On the other side, Shen Que had just arrived home when he received a text message.

[Didn’t you say you wanted to date? Then why haven’t you taken me off your blacklist?]

[One minute, or I’ll make a scene!]
