One Hundred Ways to Drive My Brother Crazy - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
At nine o’clock sharp, I appeared downstairs at Jiang Corporation.
I admired my own beauty in the elevator’s reflective doors for a moment, then said in clear, perfect diction, “Good morning, sister-in-law. You’re absolutely radiant again today.”
The suited employee beside me glanced over with an expression like his CPU had just fried, then quietly shuffled a little farther away.
Carrying the loving breakfast I’d made for my brother, I marched into the CEO’s office with my head held high.
A few days ago, I’d just had a huge fight with my brother, Jiang Yu.
Mainly, I did the fighting. He just listened.
He wanted to find me a marriage alliance prospect, and in a fit of rage, I snapped, “It’s not like you don’t know the person I like is you!”
Jiang Yu practiced the Vow of Silence, cutting off verbal karma and refraining from false speech.
He wore a string of prayer beads around his wrist all year round, eighteen beads in total.
Every time he broke his vow and said one more sentence, he had to drop one bead into a wooden cup.
Once all eighteen beads were gone, he would never be allowed to speak again.
And right now, there were only fifteen beads left on that string.
The three missing ones were all because of me.
Jiang Yu rolled the beads on his wrist one by one, his brows lowered and his eyes downcast.
Then he replied in sign language with a few words:
“I am your brother.”
“It’s not like we’re related by blood!”
“You’re too young.”
I puffed out my chest. “You’re the one who’s young. I’m a D!”
“I don’t like you.”
I answered with absolute certainty, “Impossible. How could there be anyone in this world who doesn’t like me?”
Beside us, my second brother, Jiang Lubai, stared with his mouth hanging open.
“Wait, little sis, aren’t you being way too narcissistic?”
Jiang Yu’s expression didn’t change in the slightest.
He stood straight as a pine, his back perfectly upright, as if no storm in the world could shake his resolve.
“Find suitable men her age. Arrange meetings.”
Furious, I kicked Jiang Lubai and ran away from home.
After a week of cold war with Jiang Yu, I was the first one who couldn’t take it anymore. I took the initiative, made breakfast, and came to make peace with him.
On the top floor of Jiang Corporation, voices drew closer from down the hall, grand and imposing.
The person coming wasn’t only Jiang Yu. My second brother, Jiang Lubai, and several company directors were with him too.
I wrinkled my nose.
If I secretly made up with Jiang Yu, it was fine for Jiang Yu alone to know.
But with other people around, I couldn’t bring myself to swallow my pride.
I quickly scanned the office, then darted under the kneehole of Jiang Yu’s desk.
I curled up and had just hugged my knees to my chest.
At the same time, with a creak, the office door was pushed open.
Leather shoes tapped against the floor, the footsteps getting closer and closer.
I looked up.
And found myself staring straight at Jiang Yu, who had just circled behind the desk and sat down in the boss’s chair.
