One Hundred Ways to Drive My Brother Crazy - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I froze.
Jiang Yu froze too.
I watched, clear as day, as his long, thick lashes flickered once and his brows slowly drew together.
Before he could say anything, I quickly held a finger to my lips.
Then I grabbed both sides of his executive chair. The wheels rolled, and I dragged him over, chair and all.
Using his legs to block my body from view.
Jiang Yu said nothing. He slowly lowered his lashes and gave me a calm look.
The directors were still going on and on, reporting the group’s operating situation.
Jiang Yu, meanwhile, barely spoke. He only occasionally used sign language or wrote down a few words to correct their train of thought.
Curled up under the desk, I lifted my chin and looked at Jiang Yu.
His broad, straight shoulders filled out his suit, the lines of his muscles smooth and firm.
His hair was short and neat, his features deep-set, his presence sharp and imposing.
On the wrist of the hand holding the fountain pen, blue veins stood out with a sense of restrained power.
From this angle, I suddenly remembered the day I first met Jiang Yu twelve years ago.
I was ten that year, scavenging for scraps in front of a garbage can.
A Rolls-Royce stopped in the slums. Jiang Yu frowned slightly, his brand-new polished leather shoes stepping into a puddle of filthy water.
He found me very quickly.
Back then, Jiang Yu had yet to practice the Vow of Silence, but he was just as quiet and just as painfully pretentious. He pinched my collar between a few fingers and lifted me up.
“Is this her?”
I clawed and kicked, baring my teeth at him.
“Who the hell are you? Let go of me!”
“I’m going to adopt you.”
I was an orphan with no parents, who had grown up fighting tooth and nail on my own. There was no way I was scared of him.
“Get lost! How do I know you’re not some perverted freak?
“If you dare touch me, I’ll curse you and your future son to get stabbed in the rectum!”
He tossed me into the back seat of the Rolls-Royce, then took out a handkerchief and unhurriedly wiped his fingers clean.
“Take her away.”
Jiang Yu drew my blood, tested my DNA, then pushed an adoption contract in front of me.
From that day on, I became the third young miss of the Jiang Family.
Jiang Lubai once covered his face and asked Jiang Yu,
“Big Brother, why the hell did we adopt her?
“I’m scared she’ll lick her own lips and poison herself to death.”
I was curious too. Why exactly had Jiang Yu adopted me?
I even suspected that I might be the illegitimate child of the Jiang parents, who had died young.
So I stole strands of hair from both Jiang Yu and Jiang Lubai for a DNA test. As it turned out, I had no blood relation to them whatsoever.
I secretly investigated for a long time, until I ran into that incident…
My thoughts drifted far away, only to be pulled back by the voices of the executives giving their reports.
When the directors finished reporting, it was the board members’ turn. None of them showed the slightest intention of leaving.
After holding the same bowed position for so long, my neck ached.
In front of me were Jiang Yu’s long legs, so close I could touch them, his suit pants crisp and perfectly tailored.
I decided to sneak in a little laziness.
Quietly, I moved forward and, with a soft plop, rested my chin on Jiang Yu’s knee.
The soft flesh of my cheek sank in slightly, pressing against his thigh.
My brother really smelled so good.
I buried my nose in his suit pants and sniffed like a puppy.
It wasn’t the scent of any perfume, but the sandalwood fragrance of someone who had cultivated Zen for years, faint and pleasant.
Jiang Yu’s previously relaxed body suddenly went rigid. Even his breathing stalled for a moment.
He lowered his head to look at me, his jawline tense, his sharp Adam’s apple bobbing.
The meaning in his eyes was obvious:
“What are you doing?”
I met his gaze innocently for a moment, then mouthed,
“Brother, you smell so good.”
Then I curved my eyes, pressed my lips together, and smiled at him.
Sunlight fell on my lashes, warm and fuzzy.
Hidden beneath the desk, with a group of middle-aged male and female executives still reporting away,
my second brother, Jiang Lubai, stood cluelessly in front of the desk.
And Jiang Yu stared at me for a long moment.
As if bewitched by something, he reached out his long, slender fingers and gently touched my cheek.
A subtle, indescribable atmosphere quietly spread between us.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
I silently drew in a breath and pressed a hand to my heart, telling it not to beat so wildly.
Then I turned my face and nuzzled his fingers with attachment.
The next second, I heard Jiang Lubai say,
“Big Brother, I found three blind date candidates for our little sister like you asked. Take a look.”
As if abruptly waking from a dream, Jiang Yu withdrew his hand and returned to his cool, self-possessed demeanor.
What blind date?!
I am not going on a blind date!!
With evil courage rising from my gut, I turned my face and viciously bit Jiang Yu’s thigh.
