Chapter 14

I’m so tired!

I haven’t been to school for many days now.

Shen Qinghe hasn’t left the house in days either. Doesn’t his supervisor ever check on him?

I pushed at the head resting against my chest, my voice weary and raspy. “Qinghe, I’m tired…”

Shen Qinghe paused. He looked up and gave me a gentle smile. “Then you take a nap first, Ah Xin. I can manage on my own.”

…Which meant he had no intention of stopping.

While I did enjoy being intimate with my lover, we couldn’t just keep doing this forever, could we?

We really should go out for a walk.

Feeling dissatisfied, I pushed his head again. “Qinghe, we can’t keep doing this. Why don’t we go out and do some shopping?”

At the mention of the words “go out,” Shen Qinghe froze.

The curve of his lips slowly vanished until his face was entirely expressionless. He stared at me, his eyes dark and gloomy.

“Where do you want to go, Ah Xin?”

A sudden jolt of alarm shot through me.

A sliver of panic rose from the depths of my heart.

This version of Shen Qinghe seemed like the one who should be normal, yet my subconscious was terrified of him like this.

“I… I just want to go for a walk. I don’t want to stay cooped up in the house all the time…”

Besides, I hadn’t seen Xie Lizhi or Pei Wang in so long.

If I kept ignoring them, they’d get angry, and I’d have to be the one to coax them back into a good mood.

…Wait, that’s not right.

Xie Lizhi and Pei Wang were also my boyfriends.

How could I have forgotten them? How could I have been so lost in Shen Qinghe for all these days?

This shouldn’t be happening.

My sluggish brain finally registered that something was bizarre.

If I remembered correctly, shouldn’t I be inside a horror instance right now?

But why was Shen Qinghe here too?

I looked at him, filled with doubt.

My gaze met Shen Qinghe’s pitch-black eyes.

After a long silence, he seemed to compromise, letting out a helpless, low chuckle. “Alright, Ah Xin. Let’s get out of bed and walk around.”

He leaned over, picked me up, and paced around the room a few times.

He held me like a small child, my legs wrapped around his waist.

As I rested my head on his shoulder, a splitting headache suddenly struck. Fragments of memory surged into my mind, and I fought the urge to scream out loud.

Under the intense stimulation, a flash of white light exploded before my eyes.

I remembered everything.

I was being held captive by Shen Qinghe.
