Pathological Heart Lock - Chapter 8
Chapter 8
“What are you doing? Let go! What do you think you’re doing?!”
The man had me cornered.
With no way out, I had no choice but to scramble onto the computer desk, hoping to vault over to the other side.
But before I could jump, a large, ice-cold hand clamped around my ankle and yanked me back with a violent tug.
“Ah-!”
A frigid body pressed against me from behind, pinning me completely against the narrow computer desk.
“Recognize me yet, Miss Youxin?” he whispered into my ear, his voice low with a soft chuckle.
The digital clock on the wall struck twelve.
Belatedly, the man’s identity finally clicked.
This was the doctor wearing the demon mask.
I had been pretending to be a doctor, so he pretended to be a patient to lower my guard before snatching me in one fell swoop…
It was over.
I was caught. I was dead meat.
In a state of utter despair, I could only close my eyes and wait for death, hoping he would at least make it quick.
But the pain never came.
Instead, my ear began to itch.
What was he doing…?
Startled, I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye.
I saw the man kissing and nibbling my ear with an expression of pure infatuation.
What on earth was he up to? He couldn’t possibly be lusting after me, could he? Is this even a proper horror game anymore?
My body trembled uncontrollably, though I couldn’t tell if it was from shame or rage.
The man remained buried against my neck, his breathing heavy and his voice raspy. “Doctor, I don’t feel well. Help me.”
Realizing what he wanted, my pupils shrank. Instinctively, I swung my hand and delivered a sharp slap to his face.
He didn’t dodge, taking the blow full-on.
My fingernails caught on his mask, ripping it right off.
Staring at the familiar, handsome, and wickedly charming face before me, I fell silent.
“…Pei Wang, are you insane?”
Pei Wang-the man in front of me-was one of my boyfriends.
He was even more twisted than Xie Lizhi!
His favorite things were ridiculous roleplay scenarios or pretending to be a stranger to get close to me.
In his own words, seeing the look of terror on my face made him so excited his whole body would shiver, as if his blood were flowing backward.
He was truly mental.
But he was also undeniably handsome and filthy rich.
In the face of such overwhelming advantages, those little quirks seemed harmless enough.
So, I had accepted them.
But I never imagined that in a man-eating game like this, he would still be playing out his roleplay fantasies just to scare me!
My chest heaved with fury. I raised my hand to slap him again.
But Pei Wang obediently pulled me into an embrace.
He rubbed his head gently against my chest, his upturned dark eyes blinking with a hint of regret. “Xinxin, wasn’t that thrilling? It’s just a pity you found out so soon. Otherwise, we could have had some fun here. I know you would have loved it.”
That tone, that expression… Was he actually a psychopath?!
My face turned beet-red with anger, and I opened my mouth to curse him out.
Pei Wang suddenly looked up, his eyes filled with anticipation. “Xinxin, can you pretend you don’t know who I am? Can we continue what we were just doing?”
Me: ?
You want to continue?
Fuming, I raised my leg to kick him.
He didn’t budge.
Pei Wang began unbuttoning his patient gown.
Beneath the fabric lay lean, firm muscles that weren’t overly bulky, their lines disappearing provocatively beneath his waistband.
I swallowed hard.
…Impressive. Using the seduction tactic again, are we?
Fine, then!
I’d been living in fear for two days straight. Now that I’d finally found a boyfriend, what was wrong with blowing off some steam?
I’d just consider it compensation for Pei Wang scaring the life out of me.
With that thought, I flopped back onto the computer desk and closed my eyes. “Fine. Serve me well!”
