Chapter 1

In my last life, after I killed the villain, I gave up my life to become a seal, denying the monsters beneath the Demon-Suppressing Abyss any chance of ever seeing the light of day again.

I never expected to open my eyes and find that I had been reborn.

Reborn at the age of seven, before I had even set foot on the path of cultivation.

I still possessed a mind full of profound spells and techniques, but without spiritual power to support them, I was no different from an ordinary mortal.

Worse, the villain had been reborn too.

When Yuan Bai found me, I was fighting a stray dog over half a steamed bun.

And I was losing.

Yuan Bai crouched down in front of me and frowned. “The sword prodigy who killed me in her last life can’t even beat a stray dog as a child?”

He was dressed in red. Even with his aura restrained, the stray dog could only flatten itself against the ground and tremble.

I immediately seized the chance to snatch the bun back.

Yuan Bai raised an eyebrow and watched in silence as I finished eating that half bun.

I knew Yuan Bai had come to kill me.

Since he had the memories of our previous life, even if he did not know that I had been reborn too, there was no way he would let me live.

And yet Yuan Bai did not kill me.

He took me back to the Demon Realm.

Chapter 2

Yuan Bai treated me very well. He dressed me in fine clothes, fed me delicacies, and indulged my every whim.

He simply forbade me from touching cultivation.

But in truth, I did not particularly want to set foot on that path again.

Saving all living beings. Sacrificing myself for the Dao.

It was very noble.

But it really, really hurt.

I had never lived such an easy life before.

No need to fight stray dogs for food, no need to train desperately, no need to shoulder responsibility. All I had to do was live as freely as I pleased.

I discovered that Yuan Bai seemed to have raised me into uselessness.

Even worse, I had gone along with it willingly.

Chapter 3

The year I turned twenty, I became the Number One Beauty of the Demon Realm.

Honestly, it was hilarious. In my last life, I had been the Number One Beauty of the Immortal Sects.

I had collected the whole set.

Sometimes, Yuan Bai would stare at my face in a daze.

But it was not as if he had never seen it in our previous life. Why did he look like that?

My relationship with Yuan Bai was, to put it mildly, complicated.

He treated me far too well. So well that many of his enemies would come and abduct me to threaten him.

They succeeded once.

To be honest, I did not think Yuan Bai would come save me at the time.

But Yuan Bai came anyway.

Though he came terribly late.

So late that the demons who had captured me began to wonder if they had taken the wrong person.

That day, Yuan Bai slaughtered the entire Demon Realm into silence.

Clad in vivid red, he pulled me into his arms and said through gritted teeth, “Yu Zhaozhao, if you dare run again, I will kill you!”

As if I had wanted to be captured.

But to say Yuan Bai truly valued me that much would not be accurate either.

When I first arrived in the Demon Realm, the air there was foul and turbid. Miasma and baleful energy clung to the very air, everywhere at once.

My frail body lasted only a single day before I developed a high fever.

Half dreaming and half awake, I saw Yuan Bai standing off to the side, watching without the slightest reaction.

Later, for reasons I did not know, he still did not let me die.

He fed me pills that resisted the miasma and baleful energy.

Then he set up an array in the Demon Palace. The miasma and baleful energy were kept outside, and I was trapped within.

I thought that when it came to Yuan Bai, it would be better if I did not live too long.
