Raised by the Villain - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Sometimes, I still thought of my previous life.
Master’s exquisitely handsome face was always devoid of expression.
He would always say, “Zhao’er, you must cultivate diligently.”
And so, whenever I collapsed from exhaustion, I would get up again and again, sword in hand.
Later, before the Demon-Suppressing Abyss, his face was full of pain, tear tracks crossing his cheeks. “Zhao’er, you have to go.”
Everyone said, “Yu Zhaozhao, go. Hurry, go.”
Hurry up and die.
But I would listen to anything Master said.
Master, I’ll go.
Master was clearly the only glimmer of salvation in the long, dark stretch of my life.
So why, when I think back on it now, does it hurt so much?
Chapter 5
I told Yuan Bai I wanted to get married.
Yuan Bai froze for a long while before answering hoarsely, “All right.”
So I summoned Luo Yu and happily told him we could get married now.
Luo Yu was assigned by Yuan Bai to protect me.
He was clearly one of the Four Great Demon Generals, yet he could only serve as my personal guard.
I thought Luo Yu must resent me for that.
But he treated me wonderfully.
If there was something I wanted to eat, he would sneak off to the Mortal Realm and buy it for me.
If there were clothes I liked, he would search all across the four seas and eight wildernesses to find them for me.
When I was bored, he would scour everywhere for interesting picture books and bring them back for me to read.
He was clearly someone whose mere stomp could make the Demon Realm tremble, yet when I was feeling down, he would perform a sword dance for me.
I thought that if I could truly live out my life like this, it probably wouldn’t be bad.
When Yuan Bai saw Luo Yu, he paused, then suddenly flew into a rage without warning.
With one sweep of his sleeve, he struck Luo Yu so hard that he spat blood. I hurriedly stepped in front of Luo Yu. “What are you doing?!”
He looked coldly down at me. “You like him?”
“Yes!”
He walked up to me and leaned close. “You may not.”
“You may not like him.”
…When you’re under someone else’s roof, you have no choice but to bow your head. Compared with my life of luxury and comfort, I readily agreed to Yuan Bai’s demand.
So readily that Yuan Bai didn’t even react at first.
He was stunned for a moment, and then his expression abruptly improved.
A man’s heart truly was as impossible to fathom as a needle at the bottom of the sea.
After that day, Yuan Bai became my personal guard.
Chapter 6
I didn’t know why Yuan Bai had so much free time.
According to the timeline, the seal on the Demon-Suppressing Abyss would loosen in another hundred years, and right now Yuan Bai should be gathering forces and searching for secret treasures everywhere so he could break the seal.
Yet now he spent every day by my side. What exactly was he doing?
I looked at Yuan Bai and sighed.
Yuan Bai raised an eyebrow. “Worried about Luo Yu?”
…How did he even get there?
But it was true that I hadn’t seen Luo Yu in quite some time, and I didn’t know how his injuries were.
So I nodded and said, “A little.”
Yuan Bai’s face turned cold again. “He’s fine. Just concern yourself with living your own life.”
…There he went again, being all sarcastic and weird.
