Seduced the Obsessive NPC and Ran - Chapter 37
Chapter 37
Yan Jinge sat inside the car.
Beside him was Third Master Jing, who looked perfectly composed. He was still holding Yan Jinge’s fingers, idly playing with them without saying a word, lost in thought.
Yan Jinge didn’t feel particularly guilty.
After all, he wasn’t the one who had been with Jing Wenjie before.
As for how to explain things…
He could probably just brush it off with some excuse. It shouldn’t be a problem… right?
Just as Yan Jinge was thinking this, he heard the system notification chime in his ear: “Hello, Mr. Yan Jinge. According to the system’s assessment, congratulations on successfully completing your mission and passing the second world of ‘Rebirth.'”
“We hope you will continue your hard work, complete your missions, and earn your new life.”
The second world was finished.
He was about to leave this place.
Yan Jinge frowned slightly.
He still had many things left to do.
Previously, Yan Jinge had assumed that the potion would only sever Xiaohua’s connection with Jing Wenjie. He figured that by the time Jing Wenjie felt true remorse-likely after being expelled from the family and living on the streets for a while-there would be at least a few days left for Yan Jinge to handle other matters.
He hadn’t expected it to be a lethal poison.
Now that the mission target was dead and the mission was complete, Yan Jinge had no time to do the things he wanted to do. His plans had been completely derailed.
If he had known…
He would have let Jing Wenjie live for a few more days.
Yan Jinge’s biggest concern now was Xiaohua.
He turned to look at Third Master Jing, hesitating over how to explain Xiaohua’s situation, when he felt Third Master Jing interlace their fingers-an incredibly intimate gesture.
Yan Jinge was slightly dazed. He heard Third Master Jing’s deep, husky voice whisper in his ear, “Yan Jinge.”
Yan Jinge replied, “Hmm?”
Third Master Jing looked indifferent on the surface, but a thin layer of sweat had formed between their joined hands, dampening Yan Jinge’s palm.
He said softly, “Be with me.”
Bai Cheng, who was perched on Yan Jinge’s head, couldn’t help but hold his breath, waiting for Yan Jinge’s answer.
Yan Jinge froze.
His emerald eyes blinked gently as he whispered, “…I’m sorry. I can’t promise you that.” He wasn’t even from this world; how could he just casually agree to be with someone?
Wouldn’t that be leading him on?
Third Master Jing’s grip on Yan Jinge’s hand suddenly tightened.
It hurt a little.
Yan Jinge tried to explain, “It’s not that I…”
However, before he could get more than a few words out, Third Master Jing lost his patience. He didn’t want to hear an explanation. He leaned over, pinning Yan Jinge into the corner between the car window and the seat. His eyes were dark and gloomy. “Yan Jinge, you provoked me, and now you want to hit it and quit it?”
Yan Jinge looked completely innocent.
It wasn’t that he wanted to run away after playing around; the system was forcing him to leave.
Besides…
Wasn’t this just an NPC?
Why was he so emotionally invested?
Taking advantage of Yan Jinge’s momentary confusion, Third Master Jing suddenly leaned in and captured Yan Jinge’s lips.
It was an aggressive kiss.
The interior of the car wasn’t particularly cramped, but the space was limited. Yan Jinge had no room to dodge and was forced to accept it.
Then again, he didn’t really want to dodge.
The two had kissed once before, but this felt entirely different.
The previous time could be described as tender and lingering, but this time, Yan Jinge felt as though Third Master Jing wanted to swallow him whole.
His tongue was sucked until it went numb, and his head tilted back involuntarily, his expression becoming slightly dazed. His knuckles turned white as he gripped Third Master Jing’s clothes tightly, wrinkling the man’s perfectly pressed suit.
The driver sitting in the front didn’t dare make a sound. Once he found a quiet stretch of road, he pulled into a parking spot, stepped out of the car quietly, and walked away.
The night was still.
There was no one on either side of the road.
Only the two of them remained in the car.
Yan Jinge’s cheeks were flushed crimson. When Third Master Jing pulled back slightly, Yan Jinge instinctively chased after him. He hadn’t even anticipated his own reaction. Just as he was dazed by his own behavior, Third Master Jing reacted, pinning him against the car window to welcome an even deeper, more tempestuous kiss.
The moment the two of them pulled apart, the system notification chimed again: “Ding. System audit complete. Mr. Yan Jinge, you are about to depart this world and proceed to Zone One for standby. Please prepare yourself-5-”
Yan Jinge’s pupils dilated slightly. While the system was speaking, he leaned in and took the initiative to kiss Third Master Jing. As they separated, he bit Third Master Jing’s tongue.
“4-”
Third Master Jing realized something.
From atop his head, Bai Cheng shouted, “You’re leaving, aren’t you? You suddenly bit me-”
“2-”
Yan Jinge hadn’t expected Bai Cheng to say that.
He didn’t have time to think too much. In his haste, he grabbed Third Master Jing’s hand. “I’m leaving Xiaohua in your care…”
“1.”
The moment the system’s voice fell, Yan Jinge’s body felt weightless.
The person Third Master Jing was practically holding in his arms dissolved into starlight, vanishing from inside the car.
Xiaohua, who had been perched on Yan Jinge’s shoulder, and Bai Cheng, who had been on his head, didn’t have time to react before they tumbled onto the sofa seat.
Xiaohua looked dazed as it climbed up. “I… how did I get here…”
Bai Cheng gritted his teeth, fuming. “He ran away again!”
Third Master Jing lowered his gaze and scooped Xiaohua up. “No rush. Let’s handle the aftermath of this world first.” A glint of light flashed in his eyes as he added nonchalantly, “We’ll meet again sooner or later anyway.”
Bai Cheng quieted down.
He gave a soft “Mm.”
After a while, the driver walked over. He scratched his head and gave an awkward smile. “Third Master, it’s the strangest thing. I don’t know why I parked the car here for no reason…”
Third Master Jing said, “You’re getting a raise.”
The driver froze. Though he found it odd and didn’t know what he’d done to earn a raise, he was still overjoyed. “Thank you, Third Master!”
Third Master Jing leaned back against the rear seat, holding the drowsy Xiaohua, who had already forgotten Yan Jinge.
The scenery outside the window blurred past.
He lowered his long, raven-feather lashes and suddenly let out a small laugh.

Yan Jinge returned once again to that oval, all-white space. He felt a wave of dizziness, frowning slightly as he tapped his fingers against his temple.
Thinking back to what Bai Cheng had said, the realization finally hit Yan Jinge, and a faint blush colored his face.
His action of biting Third Master Jing’s tongue had been very discreet. Third Master Jing had only paused for a moment and said nothing, yet Bai Cheng knew instantly that he had bitten him.
Clearly, Bai Cheng was able to feel it.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have reacted so quickly.
Then that previous time…
Dammit.
Good thing he’d filed that report!
Yan Jinge opened his panel. He didn’t see the progress of his report, only two “Completed” stamps over the first two worlds. His gaze swept over the first world, and he instinctively tried to remember what had happened there, only to find that his memory of it was already hazy.
Yan Jinge didn’t pay it much mind.
No matter what had happened, as long as the mission was complete, it was fine.
Yan Jinge remembered the book he hadn’t finished reading last time. He went to the library to find it, then lay on the bed in his room to continue reading.
Before long, drowsiness washed over him, and Yan Jinge drifted off to sleep.
When he woke up, Yan Jinge felt refreshed and energetic.
He picked up the book that had accidentally slipped onto the floor, spent some time in the game room, and enjoyed his full seventy-two hours. The moment his time was up, Yan Jinge was teleported directly into the third world.
When he opened his eyes, he was in a large private dining room.
Yan Jinge was sitting near the head of the table. Opposite him, near the door, was a slightly plump, kind-looking man who was giving Yan Jinge meaningful looks. Seeing that Yan Jinge wasn’t catching on, the man had no choice but to speak up: “Jinge, hurry up and offer Director Chen a toast.”
Yan Jinge heard his name called, but he remained seated without moving.
A wave of discomfort surged through him, making his head feel fuzzy. Though his body remained upright, he felt as if the world were spinning.
He knit his brows.
Everything in front of him seemed to have a double image; he couldn’t see clearly.
He could only vaguely make out about six or seven people sitting around the table.
Sitting next to Yan Jinge was a rather obese man. He was looking at Yan Jinge with lecherous eyes, his hand moving surreptitiously as if trying to grab Yan Jinge’s hand.
However, Yan Jinge instinctively pulled away.
He grabbed at thin air, then leaned back and commented with a smile, “This kid isn’t very sensible, is he?”
“Cough. It’s his first time, after all. He really is just a child. Please bear with him, Director Chen…”
The friendly-looking man spoke with a smile of his own. “But I see it now. He’s acting out and dodging your hand because you and Screenwriter Li are such heavy drinkers. Yan Jinge is so drunk he can’t even recognize who you are. Why don’t we call it a night? Everyone should head back and get some rest.”
Director Chen supported this suggestion.
His gaze swept over Yan Jinge’s fair skin beside him, and he said meaningfully, “True. I’m starting to feel a bit lightheaded myself.”
The people around them were very perceptive. Hearing this, they all stood up to take their leave.
Director Chen patted his large belly and didn’t move.
The friendly-looking man was Yan Jinge’s manager. Seeing the situation, he took the initiative to come over, propped Yan Jinge up, and led him out of the private booth toward the upper floors.
Only then did Director Chen leisurely follow behind, his body practically glued to Yan Jinge’s. “Jinge has nice legs.”
The manager let out a hearty laugh. “Just wait a moment…”
The manager didn’t finish his sentence, but Director Chen already understood.
The two exchanged a look and shared a knowing smile.
Yan Jinge’s head was spinning, and his stomach felt miserable.
As he walked forward, he felt as if something was wrapped around his ankles. He accidentally tripped several times, and in his haze, he heard a scolding voice in his ear: “Can’t you even walk properly? Are you looking for trouble? You’d better behave for me. If you serve Director Chen well, there will be roles for you in the future-”
Yan Jinge frowned.
The three of them walked to the elevator just as the doors were about to close.
“Hey, hello! Please wait-”
The manager called out, pulling Yan Jinge to pick up the pace.
Fortunately, the person in the elevator seemed to see them, and the doors opened again.
Yan Jinge felt even more uncomfortable as he was forced into the crowded elevator. He leaned against one of the walls, his brow furrowed slightly as he looked up.
In addition to Yan Jinge, the manager, and Director Chen, there were two other men in suits in the elevator. They stood together and seemed to know each other.
Yan Jinge’s eyes landed on the stranger standing diagonally across from him almost instantly.
It was strange.
Even though everything else Yan Jinge saw was a blur of double vision, the man opposite him was perfectly clear. It was as if he were the only thing left in his sight.
The man was very tall, half a head taller than Yan Jinge. He was wearing a hat, but because Yan Jinge was slightly shorter and the man had tilted his head up a bit, Yan Jinge could clearly see his handsome face.
He appeared to be of mixed heritage, with a pair of deep-set, azure blue eyes that were quietly observing Yan Jinge. He had a high bridge to his nose, and his pale, thin lips were set in a straight line, giving him a serious, no-nonsense aura.
Despite it being a face he had never seen before, Yan Jinge found it incredibly familiar.
He had a feeling…
That no matter what he did, the man opposite him would accept it all without reservation.
“You…”
As soon as Yan Jinge spoke, he let out a hiccup.
The manager beside him gave an apologetic smile, reaching out to hold Yan Jinge steady as he said to the two strangers, “Sorry, he’s drunk-”
However, as soon as the words left his mouth, the drunken Yan Jinge shoved him away. The immense force sent the manager stumbling to the side. Yan Jinge took a step forward, but felt his ankle being tugged by something. Already unsteady on his feet, this was the final straw, and he fell straight toward the man!
There was a loud *thud*.
The man was knocked back against the wall, bracing himself with his arms.
Yan Jinge’s entire weight pressed against him. Slumped against the man’s chest, his alcohol-laden breath washed over him. He tilted his head up, his star-like eyes blinking, clouded with a drunken mist.
“Xiang… Xiang Gong…”
