Seduced the Obsessive NPC and Ran - Chapter 38
Chapter 38
“Xiang Gong???”
Who was Yan Jinge calling out to?
The manager looked utterly bewildered.
Yan Jinge had never acted in a historical drama before. Even if he were drunk and babbling nonsense, as a man, he should have been calling someone “Niang Zi,” not “Xiang Gong.”
It was a total mess.
Where had he even learned that?
Beside him, Director Chen frowned slightly, his face already darkening with displeasure.
Terrified that Director Chen would be dissatisfied and the deal would fall through, the manager turned pale. He immediately grabbed Yan Jinge and pulled him back. Already unsteady on his feet, Yan Jinge stumbled back with a single tug.
The manager didn’t even have time to argue about being pushed earlier. He looked at the two men opposite them and apologized again. “I’m sorry, I’m truly sorry.”
The man’s expression was cold as he gave a slight shake of his head. “It’s fine.”
His voice was deep and resonant. The manager found it familiar the moment he heard it and couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at the man. He froze for a moment. “Are… are you…?”
“Apologies.”
The shorter man in a suit standing next to the man stepped forward, blocking the manager’s view. He didn’t say much, but his stance made his intentions clear.
The manager had enough social awareness to take the hint and sheepishly shut his mouth.
The numbers on the elevator display climbed steadily.
The man’s deep blue eyes were fixed on Yan Jinge.
Then, his gaze shifted to the pot-bellied Director Chen standing beside the boy.
He suddenly took off his hat and said calmly, “Director Chen.”
Director Chen was taken aback.
He hadn’t drunk that much, and now that he looked closely, it suddenly clicked. “So it’s Mr. Song!”
Only then did the manager realize that the man with the familiar voice was none other than the city’s famous business prodigy, Song Zhengjun. Song Zhengjun was the chairman and CEO of a well-known conglomerate with interests in multiple industries, most of which were market leaders. Currently, he was expanding into the film and television industry. He had recently invested in several productions with a lavish hand, and the results had been spectacular-every single one was a massive hit.
His eye for success was undeniable.
Furthermore, Chairman Song rarely interfered with the filming process after investing, making him the ideal backer. Many directors were desperate to secure his investment, but unfortunately, the man was far too mysterious and nearly impossible to meet.
Who would have thought they’d have a chance encounter here!
It was a godsend!
Director Chen rubbed his hands together, his face flushed with excitement. “Mr. Song, I didn’t expect to run into you here. It must be fate. Do you happen to have any investment interests lately? I have a script here that’s about to start filming. How about I send it over for you to take a look?”
Song Zhengjun gave Director Chen a cold look before shifting his gaze back to Yan Jinge.
He narrowed his eyes slightly and said without hesitation, “I want him.”
Director Chen and the manager were both stunned.
No one expected the legendary Chairman Song to be so bold as to say such a thing to their faces.
Silence fell over the elevator.
No one spoke.
The elevator reached Director Chen’s floor, but he hesitated. In the end, he didn’t get off, choosing instead to follow Song Zhengjun further up.
Seeing this, the manager knew that Director Chen had likely decided to “sell” Yan Jinge to Chairman Song.
Who didn’t know the name Song Zhengjun?
The manager could actually understand Director Chen’s decision.
He gave Chairman Song a somewhat fawning smile.
Chairman Song, however, kept a stony face.
The overwhelming aura of a powerful man in a high position made the manager feel like he could hardly breathe.
Suddenly, Chairman Song reached out a hand.
The manager was confused, not understanding the gesture, but the man standing next to the Chairman-who appeared to be his secretary-understood immediately.
He stepped forward, took Yan Jinge from the manager, and tucked him into Song Zhengjun’s arms. Turning back, he said, “Our Chairman Song will take care of this gentleman today. You may rest easy.”
The manager and Director Chen exchanged a look. “Of course, of course.”
As Song Zhengjun walked out of the elevator with his arm around Yan Jinge, the manager couldn’t help but glance at Director Chen. He deliberately gave the director an opening to boast, pretending to be ignorant. “Director Chen, hadn’t you been eyeing Jinge for days? I thought you would…”
“Heh.”
Sure enough, Director Chen shot the manager a sideways look, his face full of smugness. “I can have Yan Jinge whenever I want, but opportunities to do a big shot a favor don’t come around often. Alright, I can’t go without some fun today. Go find me someone else.”
“Yes, yes. Director Chen is truly impressive, seeing the big picture instantly. I really have a lot to learn from you! I’ll go find someone for you right away.”

Yan Jinge slept incredibly soundly.
It wasn’t until the sun streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows and onto the soft, large bed that Yan Jinge slowly opened his eyes.
He saw a chest.
A human chest.
Firm.
Rising and falling slightly.
A wave of masculine hormones hit him.
Yan Jinge froze, his mind still a bit sluggish.
He looked up.
Lying intimately beside him was a man with a head of fluffy brown hair. The sheer volume of it was enough to make anyone jealous. He had deep-set eyes with faint dark circles beneath them. Because they were so close, Yan Jinge could even see the man’s pores.
…Who was this?
Yan Jinge sat up in a daze.
Only then did he realize that the man’s arm was draped across his waist.
It felt a bit heavy.
The arm was hooked right in the small of Yan Jinge’s back, unmoving.
Yan Jinge reached out cautiously. As he gently moved the man’s arm back onto the bed, he began to organize the memories of this world in his mind.
This was a story about the entertainment industry.
The Original Host came from a poor family. Because of his outstanding looks and the rumors that being a celebrity was a quick way to make money, he dove headfirst into the industry. He debuted at nineteen through a survival show. As a civilian with no formal training, his visuals were his strongest asset, and he managed to debut with his teammates in sixth place.
It was also during this survival show that the Original Host met the love of his life.
The team leader, Yi Haotian.
The two of them had dated secretly during the show. It was a thrilling, high-stakes romance, and their chemistry was so palpable that CP fans were practically delirious over their interactions.
However, there were simply too many survival shows these days. Combined with the fact that their group’s popularity and name recognition lagged far behind their competitors, they struggled to stay relevant.
While the group hadn’t officially disbanded, the members had all gone their separate ways to pursue individual careers.
The Original Host and Yi Haotian belonged to different agencies. Their schedules never aligned, and they could only manage the occasional secret rendezvous.
But Yi Haotian, who excelled at both singing and dancing, was naturally on a different level than the Original Host, who relied solely on his face.
After all, in the entertainment industry, who wasn’t good-looking?
The supposedly talented Yi Haotian went on to film two TV dramas, and rumors about him began to fly everywhere. This was par for the course in showbiz, and the Original Host hadn’t paid it much mind at first. However, a teammate who loved stirring the pot went out of his way to tell him that Yi Haotian’s on-screen romance was starting to look like the real thing.
Suspicious, the Original Host made up an excuse and went to find Yi Haotian in secret, hoping to surprise him. Instead, he walked in on him in bed with another male star…
“Our statuses are different now. Jinge, you can’t even land a single gig anymore. You can barely afford your monthly rent, while I’m about to become a top-tier idol. I have so many fans who love me. Do you really think you’re worthy of dating me?”
Yi Haotian’s cold voice rang out. “Yes, I did play up the CP with you back then, but do you even know what ‘shipping’ means? It’s for show. It’s for the fans. It was never a real relationship. From start to finish, you’re the only one who took it seriously. Who gives their heart away in the entertainment industry? Don’t be so naive.”
Trembling with rage at Yi Haotian’s words, the Original Host turned around and demanded an ‘opportunity’ from his manager.
That led to this.
He had sworn to climb over Yi Haotian’s head and make him regret everything he said today.
Thinking of this, Yan Jinge frowned.
He couldn’t quite get behind the Original Host’s self-destructive method of seeking revenge. But it seemed he had transmigrated a bit too late.
The deed was already done.
However…
In his memories, neither Yi Haotian nor Director Chen looked like the man standing before him.
Who was this?
Just as the thought surfaced, the man slowly opened his eyes.
A pair of deep blue pupils, as clear as the ocean, focused and locked onto Yan Jinge.
As Yan Jinge met his gaze, he felt a momentary lapse in concentration.
It felt as if… he had seen this person somewhere before.
In the next second, a powerful arm reached out and pulled Yan Jinge, who had just sat up, back onto the bed. The man leaned in naturally and kissed Yan Jinge’s soft lips. “Good morning.”
Yan Jinge: “???”
The moment the man’s breath brushed against him, Yan Jinge instinctively closed his eyes. Startled by the sudden sneak attack, his almond-shaped eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the man.
“You…”
“My name is Song Zhengjun,” the man offered. He reached out, took out his phone, and sent a text message. Getting out of bed, he placed a large hand on Yan Jinge’s head, his thumb pressing right against his temple. “Does your head still hurt?”
“…No.”
“Good. Get up and get dressed. Liu Wu will be here in a moment.”
Song Zhengjun spoke concisely. After finishing, he walked barefoot into the bathroom. His attitude was so natural that it was as if he and Yan Jinge were already an old married couple.
Yan Jinge sat on the bed and began to dress.
In his memories, the Original Host had accepted his manager’s invitation to meet Director Chen. Last night, he was supposed to be drinking with Director Chen, but he couldn’t remember anything after that…
Had something changed along the way?
Less than three minutes later, there was a knock at the door.
His head full of questions, Yan Jinge had just finished washing up. Seeing Song Zhengjun go to answer the door, his gaze involuntarily followed him.
A man carrying a folder walked in.
The man looked to be about 177 centimeters tall. Normally, that would be a perfectly fine height for a man, but standing next to Song Zhengjun, he looked short.
This must be the Liu Wu that Song Zhengjun mentioned.
Liu Wu said in a low voice, “Chairman Song, the documents are ready for you. Please take another look. If there’s anything that needs to be changed, I can do it immediately.”
Song Zhengjun: “Mm.”
After their brief exchange, Song Zhengjun took the envelope from Liu Wu and flipped through it. Seemingly satisfied that everything was in order, he walked over to Yan Jinge and tossed it onto the coffee table in front of him. He said coldly, “Sign it.”
As he spoke, Song Zhengjun’s eyes were icy, as if he would shoot Yan Jinge on the spot if he didn’t comply.
Beside them, Liu Wu smiled slightly. He poured two cups of tea, placed one steadily in front of Yan Jinge, and said warmly, “Mr. Yan, this contract is very favorable for you. I suggest you just sign it.”
Yan Jinge: “?”
Yan Jinge lowered his gaze to the folder.
He opened it, and the header at the very top read: Sponsorship Agreement.
Yan Jinge: “…”
He stole a quick glance at Song Zhengjun, his toes curling in his shoes.
