*She Needed to Weave Another Grass Ring*

Perhaps evil flowed through the blood of Demons, while the blood of Gods carried an almost unfeeling indifference.

Thus, when a Demon and a God fell in love, problems with trust inevitably arose.

Beili had recognized that problem.

She wanted to resolve it properly.

After she finished speaking, Ashera, who had transformed into a black cloud, paused in midair for several seconds. Then he slipped beneath the covers from the foot of the bed.

The black mist took on human form beneath the covers and slowly crawled on top of her.

Beili watched a pale, gloomy face framed by a boy’s silver hair emerge from the black-and-red covers.

His lashes, like black feathers, trembled gently as he looked at her.

He was the very picture of temptation, silently asking for a kiss.

“…”

Beili’s lowered red eyes were extraordinarily calm. She remained unmoved.

She knew that Ashera was trying to distract her this way so that she would stop hounding him about undoing the spell.

“Honored Demon Lord, don’t you think we are facing a serious crisis of trust?”

She introduced the subject.

Our Demon Lord very likely did not know what a ‘crisis of trust’ was, but with a little imagination, he could still guess the general meaning.

“I-I don’t…”

The boy shook his head, his voice faint.

“Then why are you unwilling to undo the spell?”

Beili spoke in all seriousness.

“You need to understand that a crisis of trust is a very serious problem for newlyweds.”

“In the mortal world, marriages in which husbands do not trust their wives almost never last.”

“…”

The bedroom was dimly lit, and butterflies flashing blue and green fluttered through the air.

Meanwhile…

Perhaps Beili’s words had given him much to ponder, or perhaps his constant anxiety had left him exhausted.

Our Demon Lord lowered his lashes. After several seconds of conflicted thought, he unexpectedly nodded in obedient agreement.

He agreed to undo the stasis spell he had cast on her.

Even though the fellow had denied its existence many times before.

Beili paused, almost failing to react.

She was astonished inside, but feigned composure and hummed thoughtfully.

“I believe you deserve a reward right now, Ashera…”

As she spoke, she stroked the boy’s silver hair.

She leaned in to kiss him.

But in the next second, a cold fingertip pressed against her lips.

Beili had just assumed that Ashera was not in the mood when she saw him deliberately change from his boyish form into his adult one. Only then did he grasp her face and press his lips to hers.

His thin lips bore down on hers with almost bruising force.

Icy frost pried past her teeth, invaded her mouth, and swept over her.

The kiss carried an unmistakable note of punishment.

Beili did not know what Ashera was thinking, but she could clearly tell that his mood was far from ordinary.

When the long kiss finally abated and their lips parted for a moment, Beili hesitantly tested him.

“You aren’t still jealous, are you?”

Jealous of himself, at that…

Beili felt like laughing after she said it, but in the next second, she met Ashera’s dark, unreadable golden eyes.

“I thought I would not care about this, my dear little butterfly,” he said slowly.

“But when it actually happened…”

“Even if that person and I share many similarities, or even if he and I are one and the same…”

“Even if that person was only the new vessel into which I was born in the mortal world…”

He pulled the black-and-red covers up over them both.

Beili was drawn tightly into his broad, cold embrace.

Icy breath accompanied his words against her ear. His voice was low and deep.

“I would still go mad with jealousy.”

So…

That fellow really was jealous of himself.

As Beili thought this, cold kisses and a broad body pressed down on her once more.

As for the matter of Beili being subjected to a spell that slowed the recovery of her divine power almost to a standstill the moment she fell from the mortal world into Hell, our unscrupulous Demon Lord was not entirely to blame.

After all, he had never possessed much sense of security, whether in the mortal world or in Hell.

Seen from that perspective, Beili had to reflect on whether she had been too reserved in expressing her feelings.

And so, after everything had finally quieted down…

Resting in the crook of Ashera’s arm, she made a suggestion.

“Perhaps we could hold another wedding?”

“Right here in Hell,” she said.

Ashera’s arm went noticeably still.

He seemed utterly taken aback. His thin lips parted, but he did not know what to say.

After a long moment, he said, “We need a grass ring first.”

“What?”

“You made him a grass ring for the wedding. You need to weave one for me as well.”

His smile was dangerous.

“Oh…” Beili said helplessly. “O-okay.”

And so…

After receiving the black grass ring she had woven on the spot from materials in the garden, Ashera was finally satisfied and undid the spell.

Naturally, our Demon Lord only undid it after repeatedly confirming—and hearing with his own ears—Beili’s countless promises that his little butterfly would never leave him.

With the obstruction gone, Beili felt an enormous tide of divine power swiftly fill her current body.

By the time she had joined Ashera for lunch and then taken a short walk through the garden, her divine power had recovered completely.

Beili closed her eyes. Her sensory vision spread outward from the castle garden.

It spilled in every direction.

She saw countless Gates of Dreams appear throughout the territory, covering it like the flourishing branches of a tree.

Beili had a premonition that, whether a person was asleep or awake, the instant she opened a Gate of Dreams, they would fall into a deep nightmare.

And until she closed the Gate of Dreams again, they would never wake.

The first thing Beili did when her divine power returned was take out the cluster of light.

Before she could open it, however, she saw Ashera clutching the grass ring as he glanced at her with his brows faintly drawn together.

There was none of the usual amusement in his languid golden eyes.

Beili sensed unease in his gaze.

She promised him yet again. She embraced him, held his hand, and kissed his cheek.

But none of it did the slightest thing to ease the Demon Lord’s worry.

He lowered his handsome, pale face and sighed again and again.

Tears of blood spilled from his eyes like red pearls.

It was as though he had already prepared himself for her to vanish and leave him at any moment.

“This really is an obituary. I will not leave you, I promise.”

She had said it countless times.

“How about this? Let’s make a pinky promise!”

Beili had no choice but to hold out her little finger. Then, with painstaking rigor, she guided him through the entire process of stamping it, making a copy, and saving it for the record.

Only then did the Demon Lord stop shedding red pearls.

The obituary opened.

In truth, Beili was even more apprehensive inside.

To her surprise, however, the obituary delivered by Light was not about her.

It was about the God of Destiny.

After she and Ashera had come to Hell, the God of Destiny had fallen.
