When Beili woke up again, the sun was slowly setting at the boundary between sky and sea.

The pink and purple glow at the horizon dyed the ocean red, waves gently lapped at the shore, sending up layer upon layer of tiny ripples.

Seabirds returning to their nests called out, tracing graceful arcs through the air.

Neither the man with ram’s horns on his head nor the little lamb with soft, glossy black wool was anywhere to be seen.

Beili rubbed her sleepy red eyes and glanced around the room. Only at her pillow did she find a note he had left behind.

On the note, a line of neat red characters was written-

“Little Butterfly, next time we meet, please hand over the agreed-upon potion of your own accord.”

She tugged at the corner of her mouth, crumpled the note into a ball, and tossed it aside.

Getting out of bed, she went to the bathroom to freshen up. From her Spatial Bracelet, she took out a clean grayish-purple dress and changed into it, tying a pale silver, interlaced belt around her waist.

In Valnie Town, aside from that extremely luxurious wine-red mermaid dress, after Madam Constance figured out her preferred style, she bought many other simple yet beautiful dresses, shoes, and accessories for her during their later strolls.

All of them were stuffed into her Spatial Bracelet.

Spatial Bracelets, this type of spatial storage artifact, are very common among Nobles-one could say everyone has at least one-but the one Beili wore was not something just anyone could possess.

It was small in size, yet its storage capacity was astonishingly large.

Beili remembered clearly when the manager of the magic artifact shop took out this heart-shaped ruby bracelet and handed it to Madam Constance.

Madam Constance produced a large, iridescent Magic Crystal.

In the magic artifact shop, aside from the wealthy Nobles, many people had never seen such a large Magic Crystal before-their jaws nearly dropped to the floor.

……

Stepping out of the dormitory building, Beili’s pace unconsciously quickened.

It had taken her an entire night to absorb all the Mana from the dead at the cemetery behind the island.

Not only was her body exhausted and her mind dazed, but her routine was also thrown into chaos.

Fortunately, the cafeteria at Holy Island Academy is open all day, with fresh meals available twenty-four hours a day.

Passing through a flowerbed built from moonstones, a rich floral fragrance wafted over.

Beili lowered her red eyes and quickly glanced over.

She remembered that this flowerbed usually grew white tulips with a faint scent, but now they had all been replaced with vibrant red roses.

Normally, at this hour, almost all the students at Holy Island Academy would have finished dinner delivered punctually by their servants, and would be strolling and playing around various spots on the island.

But today was the first day of the Holy Island Competition.

Beili quickened her steps toward the cafeteria and saw many students along the way.

Each of them wore a ribbon in the color representing their own nation.

Sainthos had red ribbons, Tilisha had gold ribbons, Nauze had brown ribbons…

After the first day of competition, the students’ faces were full of excitement and enthusiasm, gathering in small groups, chattering away.

Beili was starving.

Her stomach had already begun to protest, urgently needing a hearty dinner to appease it, so she had no energy to pay attention to what they were discussing.

Not until she received a plate of smoked steak garnished with black truffle, a crepe, and a large cup of vanilla milk, found an empty seat, and took a big bite of food, did the students’ conversations around her finally become clear in her ears-
-Cassius Alfredo, the vampire doctor whom Beili had met outside Holy Island, and who had once treated her.

Cassius smiled gently and explained, “I was invited to serve as the medical director for this year’s Holy Island Competition, to look after the health of the participants.”

“I see,” Beili nodded, a smile in her eyes.

She really liked Doctor Cassius’s demeanor-gentle, restrained, and courteous-so different from most of the people she had met at Holy Island Academy.

“How was your day?” Cassius asked with concern.

“It was pretty good,” Beili nodded softly. “It’s just that everyone’s emotions run high during the competition, so the cafeteria is a bit noisy.”

Cassius smiled at her words, his voice warm: “If you ever feel uncomfortable, you can come find me anytime.”

“Thank you, Doctor Cassius.”

Beili thanked him sincerely, feeling a warmth in her heart.

The two of them found a quiet corner to sit down, and Beili was finally able to eat in peace.

Cassius didn’t ask much about her recent situation; he simply kept her company quietly, occasionally chatting about light topics.

This kind of companionship made Beili feel very at ease.

The noise of the cafeteria gradually faded away, and Beili’s mood slowly calmed down.

She thought that, after coming to Holy Island Academy, meeting Doctor Cassius was truly a stroke of luck.

…

The arguments in the distance continued, but Beili no longer paid them any mind.

She focused on her food, occasionally looking up to exchange a smile with Doctor Cassius.

In that moment, all the bustle of Holy Island seemed to have nothing to do with her.

…

It wasn’t until she finished her meal that Beili reluctantly set down her utensils.

“I should head back to the dormitory. Thank you for having dinner with me, Doctor Cassius.”

“No need to thank me. I’m glad I could dine with you as well,” Cassius replied gently.

Beili bid him farewell and left the cafeteria, feeling lighthearted and happy.
