Taming My Archenemy - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I shut off the alarm one second before it rang.
Still half-asleep, I stumbled toward my 130-square-meter bathroom.
The toothpaste was already squeezed onto the brush, so I picked it up and started brushing.
Then I took the hot towel handed to me and wiped the water from my face.
When I turned around, Lu Xiao was standing off to the side with a beaming smile.
A ghost in broad daylight!
I staggered back, my waist slamming into the vanity.
Lu Xiao hurriedly reached out to steady me.
I flung his hand away even harder. “You bastard! What are you doing?!”
For a split second, hurt flashed across his face.
It was quickly swallowed by confusion and grievance. “Did Puppy do something wrong?”
Only then did I snap back to my senses.
The person in front of me wasn’t Lu Xiao. He was my Puppy.
I looked Puppy up and down.
Unlike Lu Xiao, who kept his hair meticulously styled with gel all year round,
Puppy’s hair fell naturally, soft and neat.
It made him look brimming with youthful charm.
Beneath the powder-blue frilled apron, he wore a black turtleneck and suit pants.
My assistant had bought them according to my tastes and delivered them along with Puppy.
Once he put them on, his broad chest and narrow waist looked even more ridiculous.
This was exactly the househusband vibe I wanted.
I lifted my arms.
Puppy was very perceptive and immediately scooped me up princess-style.
At the dining table, I slowly finished a small cup of espresso.
He served as my cushion.
His large hand rubbed the spot on my waist where I’d hit it.
Before leaving, I tugged him down a little and pinched his cheek.
“I’m not coming back at noon.”
He mumbled something.
I didn’t give him time to speak. I turned and left.
That evening, I opened the door with exhaustion clinging to every inch of me.
Puppy, who had been standing in the entryway like a statue, greeted me with a face full of joy.
“Why are you back so late?
“I made dinner. Do you want to eat now?”
No wonder every successful career woman said:
A boyfriend who didn’t work could be replaced, but a good housekeeper lasted three generations.
I said affectionately, “From now on, if I don’t say I’m coming home for dinner, you don’t have to prepare anything.”
Walking inside, I found that he had already arranged the bathroom for me.
My favorite song was crooning softly through the speakers.
My silk nightdress had also been folded and set aside.
I soaked in the bath in bliss.
When I was about to change into my nightdress, I realized Puppy hadn’t brought me any underwear.
I called out, “Puppy!”
His voice came from outside the door.
I hadn’t expected him to have been waiting there the whole time.
The hallway light cast the outline of his body onto the frosted glass door, throwing a shadow across it.
What a little pervert of a Puppy.
“Where are my panties? You’re not allowed to hide them, okay?”
“I’m sorry, I…”
He was just an android.
Aside from having Lu Xiao’s face, he was no different from the robot vacuum, the smart toilet, or the projector above the bathtub.
There was nothing to be embarrassed about.
I cut him off.
“You bad Puppy.
“Are you trying to make me go commando?
“Hurry up and bring them to me.”
He was terribly awkward about it.
He pushed the door open just a crack and reached an arm inside.
I took them and put them on.
In the empty beat between the rhythm of the music, I heard his breathing turn ragged.
“A-are you dressed?”
I found it a little funny. “What are you scared of? As if I’d eat you alive?”
He squeezed inside, picked up the hair dryer, and dried my hair for me.
His strong fingers threaded gently through my hair.
Over the whoosh of the dryer, he seemed to say something.
I didn’t catch it.
