The Clan Register Is Missing You - Chapter 1
The diviner foretold that one day a Child of Destiny would come and wipe out the demon race, root and branch.
My little brother, the Demon Lord, was howling with laughter:
“Hahahahaha, impossible! Absolutely impossible!”
“Our demon race is teeming with talent. How could we be wiped out?”
“Right, sis?”
I said nothing.
Seeing me like that, the Demon Lord’s expression gradually turned grave.
I knew it was all true.
I had once been haunted by nightmares. I dreamed that three years from now, the Child of Destiny would come to destroy the demon race, exterminate all nine generations of the Demon Lord’s clan, and complete his great work.
My foolish little brother and I — no matter where we fled, our heads would roll.
I patted my brother’s shoulder. “You hold down the fort. I’ll go deal with the threat.”
The Demon Lord nodded. “Go and come back quickly. The demon realm cannot go a single day without its sister.”
“Make it clean, sis. Soul-scattering clean.”
His expression was vicious.
What was he thinking?
How could I fight the Child of Destiny?
My plan was to have the male lead join my nine generations.
We’d be one family. How could family fight and kill each other?
I climbed Bright Peak.
I stole the identity of a senior sister who had died at the foot of the mountain, and used it to come and go as I pleased.
That person had died horribly, buried in a deep pit. If you didn’t have a demon’s dog-nose, you’d never find her.
Once up the mountain, I grabbed a disciple and asked where the male lead, Lin Shangyun, was.
The moment he saw my face, he flinched.
“Senior Sister, didn’t you beat him enough yesterday?”
“Lin Shangyun is still lying in bed. He nearly ended up crippled.”
“How about you wait until he’s rested, and then beat him again?”
Damn. I’d forgotten to do my homework.
I had actually put on the identity of the male lead’s enemy.
A sense of fate came crashing down on me.
I hurried to leave, but ran head-on into a slender young man.
His hair was black, the loose strands over his forehead hiding whatever was in his eyes. His features were young, yet he gave off a cold, otherworldly indifference.
He wore a thin, pale-blue robe that his frame couldn’t even fill out.
Lin Shangyun said flatly, “Senior Sister.”
Everyone else had dispersed, leaving us deliberately alone as a little world of two.
As if this were routine.
Lin Shangyun knelt with practiced ease and held out both palms to me.
His palms were already covered in fresh cuts and old scars.
“Please punish me.”
I stumbled back. “Y-you, what crime have you committed?”
Were these righteous sects really this twisted?
Lin Shangyun raised his eyes to me. His gaze was nothing like a boy in his teens — it was all coldness and world-weariness.
He smiled. “Does Senior Sister not remember? You said beating a beast needs no reason.”
This place was scarier than my demon realm.
I formed a spell and drew it across Lin Shangyun’s palm.
The wounds healed fast, closing over with tender new flesh.
This was my own secret technique.
Lin Shangyun’s fingertips trembled.
His gaze was heavy. “Thank you, Senior Sister.”
I sighed and took his hand to pull him up. The next second, a blade ran me through.
I spat out a mouthful of blood.
“You’re not her.”
“So careless.”
Lin Shangyun’s face was full of malice. “This face just won’t stop haunting me.”
Well, well. So you were the murderer all along.
