“If this is a personal grudge between you two, why have you kept dragging Qing’er and me into it?” Zhu Hezhou’s face was livid. He had endured them for far too long. They could fight all they liked, but why did they have to injure the two siblings every so often?

He could bear it no longer!

Zhu Hezhou swung his longsword at Zhuge Youlin.

Holding her trident, Jiang Xianyue fixed him with a dangerous stare. “If you insist on getting in the way, don’t blame me for showing no mercy.”

“When have you ever shown any?”

Zhu Hezhou was furious.

Jiang Xianyue choked back a laugh and tried not to make it too obvious. She and Zhuge Youlin had genuinely been fighting at first. But once they noticed the Zhu siblings, Jiang Xianyue wanted to vent Yanyan’s anger, while Zhuge Youlin wanted revenge for his seventh brother.

Their thoughts had aligned perfectly.

Under cover of the fight, they had injured the siblings by “accident” again and again.

Now that Zhu Hezhou had entered of his own accord, they could hardly waste the opportunity.

Their gazes met seemingly by chance. Then they joined forces and gave Zhu Hezhou a brutal beating.

He was beaten miserably!

Zhu Miaoqing grew frantic and shrieked, “Stop! Stop fighting him!”

Neither Zhuge Youlin nor Jiang Xianyue listened.

Zhu Miaoqing paced anxiously, afraid to join the battle. The corner of her eye suddenly caught Yu Changying.

Her eyes lit up. She hurried over and pleaded, “Sister Yu, save my brother! He spoke up for you just now.”

Yu Changying frowned and shook her head helplessly. “Little Sister Miaoqing, it’s not that I won’t help. There’s simply nothing I can do.”

“You truly refuse to help him? He just helped you! How can you be so heartless?”

“What did your brother help me with?”

“He spoke up for you!”

Yu Changying blinked innocently. “I would still be alive even if he hadn’t.”

Zhu Miaoqing had no answer, and anger crept across her face.

“How can you turn your back on him?”

“Little Sister, don’t make such a hideous face. Brother Hezhou said a few words for me, so I can say a few words for him too.”

Yu Changying turned toward Zhuge Youlin and Jiang Xianyue. In a gentle voice, she asked, “Little Sister Xianyue, Little Brother Youlin, could you do me a favor and stop beating Brother Hezhou?”

“No!” Zhuge Youlin replied at once.

Yu Changying sighed softly and looked back at Zhu Miaoqing with regret. “You heard him. My words carry too little weight. I can’t help you or Brother Hezhou.”

Zhu Miaoqing’s face turned green.

That counted as helping?

Humiliated and furious, she shouted, “Yu Changying, you’re a bitch who only knows how to rely on men!”

The spectators outside the secret realm all changed expression. Zhu Miaoqing’s abuse was truly vile!

Besides, Yu Changying was nothing like that.

Several people inside the secret realm also reacted, turning toward Zhu Miaoqing and Yu Changying.

“Little Sister Miaoqing, you got one thing wrong.” Yu Changying covered her mouth with a laugh and said with complete seriousness, “This elder sister relies on women too. Whether they’re men or women, I’ll rely on them all.”

Zhu Miaoqing fell silent.

Still smiling, Yu Changying continued, “But calling me a bitch makes me unhappy. Why don’t you apologize? Then I’ll forgive you.”

“Never!” Zhu Miaoqing refused firmly.

Yu Changying’s eyes gradually darkened. The next instant, she swung her arm and slapped Zhu Miaoqing across the face with a resounding crack.

Zhu Miaoqing spun around several times before…

She hit the ground with a thud, unconscious.

Under the others’ strange gazes, Yu Changying unhurriedly withdrew her hand and nodded gently to them. Her expression was warm and charming, her eyes soft as water and clouds. She lowered her head slightly as though shy.

It was as if she had not been the one to slap Zhu Miaoqing unconscious.

The spectators stared. She kept up the act for quite a while this time.

Shen Yan glanced at Yu Changying. Just as she turned toward Zhuge Youlin and Jiang Xianyue, Ninefold’s anxious voice sounded in her sea of consciousness.

“Master, I don’t know what happened, but His—Feng Xingyao has fallen unconscious again!”

Shen Yan’s eyes shifted slightly. She could not enter her ability space in full view of everyone to check on Feng Xingyao.

She sent Ninefold a voice transmission. “Keep checking whether he’s still breathing.”

Inside the ability space, Ninefold paced frantically. At her words, they immediately reached toward Feng Xingyao’s nose, only to snatch their hand back at the sudden change.

“E-ears! Fox ears!”

Ninefold stared in horror at the ears sprouting from Feng Xingyao’s head.

The last time Feng Xingyao transformed, he had not grown fox ears. This time, he had!

They were white and fluffy.

The longer Ninefold looked, the more they liked them. They reached out to touch one, only for Feng Xingyao to open his eyes without warning.

His eyes had turned red again, while his black hair was gradually becoming silver. An exceptionally terrifying aura radiated from his body.

Ninefold trembled with fear and immediately reverted to the Ninefold Demon-Suppressing Pagoda.

Then they hurriedly sent Shen Yan another voice transmission. “M-Master, Feng Xingyao has transformed! It’s almost the same as last time, but now he has fox ears!”

Fox ears?

If Feng Xingyao was a fox, it was only natural for him to have them.

“Watch him,” Shen Yan transmitted. Remembering something, she frowned. “Put away everything valuable in the ability space. Don’t let him destroy it.”

“I don’t dare…”

“You do. You’re the strongest artifact spirit. A mere Feng Xingyao is no match for you.”

Ninefold suddenly felt rather pleased. They knew they could not compare to even one of Feng Xingyao’s fingers, but with Master’s affirmation, they were… no longer afraid!

Confidence surged through Ninefold.

“Don’t worry. Leave everything to Ninefold to protect.”

Shen Yan was speechless. Praise really did work.

Just then, Wen Yuchu spoke. “Four hours remain in the secret-realm trial. Allow me to perform a piece for everyone. I hope you find it satisfying.”

Did that mean he intended to start the battle?

Clang! Clang! Clang!

As the guqin sounded, every genius present felt a jolt in their sea of consciousness. This was a sonic attack—an assault of mental power.

Chi Yue, Pei Wusu, Xiao Zechuan, Qiu Yaqian, and the others prepared to fight.

The music grew steadily more intense, carrying an aura of slaughter.

Qiu Yaqian set her sights on Shen Yan.

She came to a stop, long saber in hand. “I heard you can summon a horde of beasts. Today, I’d like to see it for myself—and test the strength of the person ranked first.”
