Qi Yan professed his loyalty all over again, then only dared to leave once the shadow had gone.

Shen Yingying stared in the direction he had left, her face pale.

“Eldest Senior Brother… is actually colluding with demons.”

To suddenly discover that the Eldest Senior Brother she had worshipped for ten years was a lackey of the Demon Race…

And she had been in love with him for so many years, too.

I could understand how devastated Little Junior Sister must feel right now…

“Junior Sister…”

Huh? Where did she go?

My eyes flew wide open, and I yanked Shen Yingying back just as she stormed off with her sword in hand, murderous aura blazing.

“What are you doing?”

Shen Yingying’s eyes were red, but her gaze was resolute, her whole face set with killing intent.

“The sect has a standing order: anyone who colludes with the Demon Race and betrays the sect must be killed. I’m going to kill him.”

I said helplessly, “Can you beat him?”

Shen Yingying froze, then shook her head.

Then she pouted.

“It’s not like you can beat him either.”

“He and I have always been evenly matched.”

Shen Yingying instinctively wanted to argue, but couldn’t find anything to say.

I looked coldly in the direction Qi Yan had left and said, “Since we’ve already discovered their collusion, and right now they are in the open while we are in the dark, of course we should make good use of Qi Yan. Little Junior Sister, I need your help.”

Shen Yingying stared at me blankly, blinking and blinking.

“Why choose me?”

I smiled. “Because I believe in you.”

That night, as I lay in bed, I felt deeply gratified.

Little Junior Sister was indeed the same as she had been in my previous life: a child with a clear sense of right and wrong, kind by nature.

With her help this time, I would definitely play Qi Yan to death.

As I brainstormed a whole series of plans, I had no idea that on the other side, Shen Yingying had already tossed and turned eight hundred times.

“Why did she choose me?”

Shen Yingying thought it over and over, my words-I believe in you-looping endlessly in her mind.

Then she connected it with my strange behavior over the past few days.

At last, she arrived at a conclusion.

I had let her personally see Qi Yan colluding with the Demon Race, and I had been so attentive and caring toward her, because I wanted her to give up on Qi Yan and throw herself into my arms!

“Senior Sister! She actually hid it this deeply!”

Shen Yingying suddenly pulled the quilt over her head.

“How embarrassing!

“No. I have to make her back off!”
At morning cultivation the next day, Shen Yingying made a rare appearance with a bare face.

This was practically a once-in-a-century sight, so I couldn’t help looking at her again and again.

Shen Yingying pressed her lips together, her face flushing scarlet as she said, “Have you looked enough? I don’t look as devastatingly beautiful as I usually do.”

I was utterly baffled. “I’ve looked enough. That little freckle on your cheek is pretty cute.”

Shen Yingying’s face turned even redder.

Her brows knitted tightly, and she even muttered, “It’s over, it’s over. She’s really fallen too deep…”

What did that mean?

I didn’t really understand.

“Ah Ling.”

Qi Yan came over from the other side. When he saw Shen Yingying’s appearance, he couldn’t help frowning. “No matter how much you dislike Yingying, you can’t force a girl to remove her makeup in public.”

Before I could say anything, Shen Yingying suddenly leaned in and studied Qi Yan’s face.

My heart lurched, afraid she might lose control and punch him, only to see her little pink fist thump against Qi Yan’s chest instead.

Covering her mouth, Shen Yingying giggled.

“Senior Brother~ You’ve misunderstood. My skin just feels uncomfortable. Ah, I really want to borrow a few layers of face from you, Senior Brother. Look at how thick your face is, layer upon layer. Losing a few layers shouldn’t matter, right?”

I had to endure it again and again before I managed to keep my face expressionless.

As long as Shen Yingying’s passive-aggressive act wasn’t aimed at me, it was honestly pretty adorable.

Qi Yan had the distinct feeling that he had been insulted, but he had no evidence.

After he left, Shen Yingying quickly withdrew her smile and said seriously, “What was the spell you said yesterday that I absolutely have to learn?”

“The Sense-Communication Art.”

As the name suggested, the Sense-Communication Art was a spell used for communication.

When both parties cast it at the same time, they could see each other’s figure and hear each other’s voice.

Shen Yingying’s face turned red again.

Had the weather been especially hot lately? Why was Junior Sister always blushing?

Shen Yingying was usually devoted to cultivation, so for an intermediate spell like the Sense-Communication Art, she studied day and night without stopping. At last, she mastered it just before Qi Yan’s second meeting with the Demon Race.

And on that very day, Master had only just informed everyone that in half a month, he and the Martial Uncles would be taking me to visit the neighboring Shangqing Sect.

Below, Qi Yan’s eyes shone, as if he had finally found his opportunity.

That night, Shen Yingying hid early by Spirit Lake, lying in wait.

Meanwhile, I privately gathered all the elders and teachers.

My master, Shi Qiuzi, asked in confusion, “It’s late, Ah Ling. What urgent matter do you have to tell us?”

I raised my hand and formed a seal, connecting to Shen Yingying through the Sense-Communication Art.

“Can you see it?”

A light screen appeared out of thin air inside the room. On it was the scene by Spirit Lake. Everything Shen Yingying saw was appearing here in real time.

“Yingying?”

Master was utterly confused.

I said in a low voice, “Master, my cultivation is insufficient. Please transmit this scene to all disciples and let everyone see the traitor colluding with the Demon Race.”

For a moment, everyone was stunned.

“Oh, right. Master, when you transmit the Sense-Communication Art, please block Eldest Senior Brother from it.”

The moment I said that, almost everyone’s expression changed.

Who the traitor was had become self-evident.

Just then, Qi Yan’s figure appeared on the light screen.

He impatiently summoned that demon, his tone excited.

“I’ve found the opportunity! In half a month, those old bastards and Mu Ling will all be gone. The useless trash left behind won’t be able to defend the mountain gate at all. There’s also that idiot Junior Sister who obeys my every word. It will be the perfect time for the Demon Lord to grace us with his presence.”
