The Horror Boss Secretly Drinks My Bathwater - Chapter 1

On my fifteenth day inside the instance, I triggered a hidden mission.

【Welcome to the Instance Confessional.】

【Please write on the whiteboard the secret evils and desires buried deep within your hearts.】

【Note: Each person must write at least five.】

The sealed square room was empty. Other than a bathroom, a whiteboard, some markers, and food and water piled in a corner, there was nothing inside.

My gaze shifted and settled on the figure beside me.

Wei Min noticed me too.

The blood on his face had half dried, and sticks and leaves were still caught in his short silver-gray hair.

The instant our eyes met, the anger that had never subsided flared even hotter.

I pulled out my gun and aimed it at Wei Min’s head.

Wei Min tensed as well, assuming an attacking stance.

Just as we stood poised to strike, an electric current tore through my entire body.

Agony spread through me. My mind went blank, and the gun slipped from my grip and hit the floor.

Wei Min felt the current too and froze in place.

The system’s voice rang through the room.

【All violence and life-threatening behavior are forbidden during a hidden mission.】

【Violators will be punished by electric shock.】

That shut both Wei Min and me up.

I glared viciously at him.

“If you’ve got any guts, don’t run once we get out. I’ll skin that wolf hide right off you!”

Wei Min’s gray-blue eyes swept over me, and he laughed.

“Catch me first.”

I was so furious I wanted to pull the Gatling gun from my item storage on the spot and turn Wei Min into a sieve.

But remembering the system’s warning, I could only force down my rage for now.

I searched my memory as the mission required.

I recalled that the last time Wei Min and I fought, I had secretly smeared salt on my dagger before using it to defend myself.

I beat Wei Min to the marker and wrote on the whiteboard: I shouldn’t have deliberately put salt on my knife.

A few seconds later, a tiny green check mark appeared at the end of the sentence.

It worked.

I breathed a sigh of relief and kept thinking.

Wei Min stepped forward and picked up the other marker.

Standing a meter away from me, he wrote: 【I shouldn’t have attacked the villagers.】

A red X appeared at the end of the sentence.

I snorted. “Who are you trying to fool?”

Wei Min said nothing.

He glanced at me, then wrote on the whiteboard: 【When I fought Tang Xun, I shouldn’t have deliberately closed in on him to make physical contact and test his reaction.】

Once the system recognized it, a green check mark appeared.

Seeing my own name beneath Wei Min’s pen left me baffled.

What did he mean, deliberately making physical contact?

What reaction had he been testing?

My determination to beat him to death?

I thought about it for ages without figuring it out, so I stopped trying.

【I shouldn’t have disobeyed Captain and sneaked into town in the middle of the night, nearly getting Captain hurt.】

Thinking of Captain, whom I had left behind alone, made me restless.

On the other side, Wei Min raised his hand again.

I leaned back slightly and peered curiously at the part of the whiteboard in front of him.

Probably because he rarely wrote, Wei Min’s handwriting wasn’t very attractive, though it was neat enough.

And so, I watched with my own eyes as Wei Min wrote, one stroke at a time: 【I shouldn’t have secretly watched Tang Xun bathe, then drunk his bathwater after he finished.】

Me: “…”

I didn’t dare laugh, because my name was Tang Xun.
