Chapter 2

The barrage comments were right.

The spirit entity I had kept hidden all this time was a one-of-a-kind humanoid.

She even possessed a certain degree of self-awareness and was not entirely under my control.

She was a veterinarian.

And I guessed she was also me from my previous life.

Chapter 3

That injection worked almost instantly.

The Night Leopard quickly quieted down, sinking into a half-dreaming, half-awake, tipsy state.

The Little Vet deftly took out her medical kit and began giving the Night Leopard a full examination.

During the treatment, she familiarly rubbed the Little Leopard’s ears and tail.

“Mmph!”

The young man’s ears turned red, and he let out a muffled groan that invited all sorts of imagination, followed by two quick, ragged breaths.

And because I had gotten to knead a big kitty, my heart started beating faster from sheer delight and excitement.

A spirit entity took after its master.

The Little Vet and I shared our senses.

Of course, it was the same for him and the Little Leopard.

And ears were one of the most sensitive parts of a feline.

Heaven as my witness, I really had liked small animals before. Giving them a few rubs during treatment was perfectly normal. But why did my spirit entity have to learn that habit too?

Unable to bear looking straight at her, I glared at the Little Vet and scolded her with absolutely no confidence, “Treat him properly! No random touching!”

She turned and made a face at me, then kept working.

Me: “…”

The chains rattled as he tried uncomfortably to struggle free from his restraints.

The young man lowered his eyes to look at me. His gaze was dazed and heated, filled with damp pleading and desire.

His now-obedient mental power was like a mass of feelers, unconsciously wrapping around me bit by bit, weaving into a vast net.

I did not dare meet his eyes and hurried the Little Vet along.

In a cultivation novel, this kind of intertwining of mental power would probably be called soul communion.

Across both my lives, I had never had any deep interaction with the opposite sex.

Let alone this indescribable contact through mental power.

No wonder those barrage comments said the Female Lead would come and do this and that with this group of sentinels. The Female Lead’s spirit entity was the Heavenly Voice Mermaid, a top-tier healing talent that could make its master beastify.

Her method of soothing was even more unspeakable-the kind of content you had to pay to watch.

At last, after endless torment, the Little Vet clapped her hands and told me the treatment was done.

No longer in pain, the Night Leopard lazily sprawled across the young man’s shoulder. Its tail swayed, and it even rolled over, exposing its snow-white belly.

The Little Vet did not hesitate for a second. Her eyes lit up, and she rushed forward to furiously pet the Little Leopard.

Me: “…”

Although I really did want to give it a couple of good rubs, you doing this is seriously embarrassing me.

The alarm weakened, and the mental power storm in this room completely subsided.

[Why can this Passerby A soothe Lin Qiao’s mental power?]

[Wait!! Isn’t Lin Qiao an S+ sentinel? How much mental power does Passerby A even have…? Did she hide her level?!]

[The Female Lead wasn’t summoned in an emergency. The plot is completely off the rails.]

Lin Qiao.

So he was Lin Qiao, one of the Twin Stars of the Empire.

That young genius who had made illustrious contributions on the battlefield against the Insectoid Race, rumored to be the only descendant of the Northern Knight.

But with this degree of alienation, it would only take a few more episodes before he became a true madman.

“It’ll be over soon.” After a moment of hesitation, I stood on tiptoe and patted Lin Qiao on the head. “Get some rest.”

Gentle mental power flowed from my fingertips, smoothing his disordered mind bit by bit.

The scarlet gradually faded from the young man’s azure eyes as his sanity slowly returned.

He stared at me without blinking, as if trying to carve my face into his heart.

His gaze made my skin crawl. Before he could fully regain consciousness, I decisively withdrew my spirit entity and fled the scene.
