The Villain Demon Lord and His Little Fox - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
While I was still frozen in shock, Xu Wuwang bounced a couple more times.
Maybe he wanted to imitate me sticking out my tongue, but felt it would damage the dignity of the Demon Lord, so he merely tugged up the corners of his lips and copied my fox cackle with uncanny accuracy.
“Ahahahahaha!”
He was very pleased with my reaction. Turning back, he fetched some spirit fruit and threw them at my head one after another.
Thud.
“That’s for throwing wild fruit at me! I’m throwing some at you too!”
Thud.
“That’s for throwing things at me!”
A demon general couldn’t bear to watch and advised, “Your Reverence, she is merely a spirit pet of meager talent. If Your Reverence’s anger is still not appeased, you can simply kill her and eat her!”
I shuddered.
Thud.
Xu Wuwang threw the last spirit fruit in his hand, then grabbed my big tail and lifted me upside down in a posture that sent all the blood rushing to my head.
He cast a cold glance at the demon general who had just spoken and ordered, “Kill him. Eat the meat.”
“Medium numbing, extra spicy. No cilantro.”
Amid the demon general’s screams, a demon soldier came forward to report, “Your Reverence, several elders from the Zhaoyun Sect have forced their way here. They say they’ve come to demand an explanation for their disciples.”
Xu Wuwang went, “Oh,” sounding rather interested. “Then I’ll go meet them.”
Outside the Demon Palace, a dense crowd of righteous cultivators had gathered to block the entrance. The cultivators of the Zhaoyun Sect were the most indignant of all.
A burly, bearded man who looked exactly like a pig butcher claimed to be the Fifth Elder of the Zhaoyun Sect. The moment he arrived, he was about to summon his magical weapon, but fortunately, he was stopped by several disciples who had just climbed up from the bottom of the cliff.
The Fifth Elder’s voice was astonishingly loud. “Xu Wuwang! You harmed the disciples of the Zhaoyun Sect. Today, we’ve come to demand an explanation!”
A gust of fierce wind swept across their faces.
The Zhaoyun Sect members tensed, each taking up formation.
Behind the clouds and mist, Xu Wuwang’s silhouette loomed massive.
Beside him seemed to be a demonic beast, its fur as red as fire.
They thought to themselves that anything at the Demon Lord’s side had to be some awe-inspiring, savage, and brutal ancient demonic beast.
From somewhere in the crowd came the sound of someone gulping.
Under gazes filled with either wariness or tension, Xu Wuwang calmly parted the clouds and mist. Holding me upside down, he strolled leisurely into view as if taking a walk after dinner.
“…A spirit pet fox that can’t even take human form?”
The combination of Xu Wuwang and me was far beyond the righteous cultivators’ expectations.
Xu Wuwang lifted me higher and narrowed his phoenix eyes to study me. “So you can take human form?”
I quickly nodded my fox head.
Of course. Of course.
Among foxes, no matter the clan, once we took human form, we were all devastatingly beautiful.
I proudly puffed out my tiny chest.
Then I heard Xu Wuwang give a languid laugh.
“With your strength, I’m afraid I won’t live to see that day.”
