This Red Thread Cannot Be Eaten - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I had been tricked.
It turned out beautiful women weren’t the only ones who lied. Beautiful men lied too.
The handsome immortal man was named Linxian, and he wasn’t an immortal at all. He was a demon.
He took me to his Demon Realm.
I stayed there for who knew how many years, but I was still in my little furball form and had yet to take human form.
The Heavenly Court and the Demon World had been at odds for years. I guessed that in all this time, the Heavenly Court had never imagined I’d been abducted by a demon.
The thought made me furious.
In a fit of anger, I threw myself into the soft blankets.
The Demon Realm was very cold, especially at night. Linxian wouldn’t let me onto the bed. He only drew out a little territory for me on the icy floor and told me to treat that as my bed.
How could I possibly endure such humiliation? On the very first day, I had set my sights on this bed. Its mattress was made of soft clouds, its blanket of flowing rosy dusk. Just looking at it, I knew it had to be comfortable.
The next moment, a hand grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and lifted me right back out of the blankets.
Linxian sat up in bed and glared at me coldly. “Do you even know you’re a girl? You burrow into my blankets every single day.”
I gave a dry laugh. “Only the lewd see lewdness everywhere. I’m just a little furry beast. How could I have filthy thoughts like you demons?”
I wasn’t afraid of him at all. After all these years, I knew him far too well. He looked even more vicious than a fierce beast like me, but in truth, he was nothing but a paper tiger.
Sure enough, he only glared at me twice before turning over and going back to sleep.
Not too much, not too little-he had left exactly enough space for me to sleep.
With my nose in the air, I lay down in that empty spot and resumed enjoying the soft bedding. I even spread all four paws wide, arrogantly staking my claim.
I heard him give a cold snort, but he didn’t chase me away again.
I lay there smugly, when all of a sudden I remembered that when he sat up earlier, the blanket had slipped down, revealing a rather pleasing physique.
Ah. For some reason, my nose started bleeding a little.
Maybe I had eaten something too heating.
I stretched out a paw, wanting to touch his muscles, but he mercilessly slapped it away.
Hmph.
I was silently cursing him when I suddenly heard Linxian turn back over and ask me, “What were you doing at Great Wilderness Mountain that day? Haven’t you always lived in the Heavenly Court?”
“Oh, I heard there was Zhuyu on Great Wilderness Mountain and wanted to try some.”
Linxian rolled over again, turning his back to me. I thought he still had something to say, but after waiting for ages and hearing nothing, I poked him-only to discover that he had actually fallen asleep.
I was so angry I ground my teeth.
That infuriatingly cryptic demon.
