Was the Villain a Cauldron All Along? - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“Hey. Get up.”
The human trafficker nudged the motionless man sprawled on the ground with his foot, but got no response.
I frowned. “He’s not dead, is he?”
“Don’t worry. He won’t die.”
The trafficker dropped smoothly to one knee. His filthy hand grabbed a fistful of hair at the back of the man’s head and yanked it up roughly, revealing his face in full.
“Take a look. A face like this only comes along once in a century.”
I lowered my head slightly and met a pair of numb, beautiful eyes.
The man’s skin was a sickly white. His nose was high and straight, the corners of his eyes tilted upward, and both his pupils and hair were a lovely light chestnut.
Shallow tooth marks marred his full lips. A few threads of blood seeped from his mouth, staining his lips a vivid red, making that pale face look especially bewitching.
It was not just me who froze. Even the bullet comments went blank for an instant.
Then the screen filled with dense exclamations.
[Holy crap, the Villain is actually this gorgeous?]
[This guy’s Human Cauldron Physique is insane. It can perform Purification, increase abilities, heal injuries, and even relieve fatigue. He’s basically a top-tier healer.]
[If I were the Female Supporting Character, I’d take him home and worship him. A top-tier Cauldron. He can help you level up and make it feel good.]
A top-tier Cauldron?
I stared at that handsome face for a few seconds. “Him. I’ll take him.”
Chapter 2
I paid the money and dragged him back to my room.
The man was very tall, but thankfully, he was pitifully thin and barely weighed anything.
His body was frighteningly hot. The entire way, he was limp as a puddle of water, letting me drag him along. Only when I threw him onto the bed did his lashes tremble faintly.
I casually fed him an antibiotic, then scrambled onto the bed in a hurry, my cold fingers slipping under his T-shirt.
Gu Zeyan had not come back last night. I had not slept all night and was so exhausted I was about to pass out.
Ah.
Glorious eight-pack abs.
Chapter 3
I slept straight through until dawn the next day before slowly waking.
I stretched, then found myself staring into a pair of beautiful light chestnut eyes.
I paused. “…Morning.”
“Who are you?” the man asked, his voice a little hoarse.
“Your master.” I got up and started getting dressed. “I bought you yesterday for three Tier-One Crystal Core. From now on, you’re my pillow. Whenever I’m sleepy, you have to show up.”
“Of course, as your master, I’ll make sure you have food to eat and a place to sleep.”
The man remained propped against the headboard and licked his dry lips. “Where is this?”
“Dawn Base, the largest base in the North. This is my room, a privilege for Tier-Five lightning-type ability users.”
I handed him a bottle of water. “So don’t even think about running. Otherwise, I’ll electrocute you into barbecue.”
The man stared at the bottle in my hand, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
Then he quickly took it and tipped his head back, drinking with obvious urgency.
In just a few seconds, the bottle was empty.
“Sorry…”
His grip tightened around the empty bottle. “I was too thirsty.”
I shook my head to show I did not mind. “What’s your name?”
“Wen Yan.”
“All right, Wen Yan. I’m Jiang Yu. Did you understand everything I just said?”
“Mm.”
I raised an eyebrow, surprised by how obedient he was.
Human traffickers were usually ability users who abducted ordinary people without abilities and sold them. Very few people came willingly.
But he seemed already used to being treated as goods and bought and sold.
I picked up a pack of compressed biscuits and waved it in front of him. “Then what should you call me?”
Wen Yan paused. His gaze fell on the pack of compressed biscuits, and he spoke with some difficulty. “Mas…ter.”
“Good boy.” I tossed him the biscuits. “Eat.”
The bullet comments had not stopped once.
[Is this really the Villain? Whose golden retriever wandered onto the wrong set?]
[That’s because the Villain’s Human Cauldron Physique hasn’t been discovered yet. He hasn’t turned dark yet.]
[In the original plot, the Villain was bought by someone from a research institute this time. Then, by a twist of fate, they discovered his ability had the effect of Purification, clearing away impurities, and he was handed over to the research institute for study. Once those people discovered his Human Cauldron Physique, they ran all kinds of experiments on him. Cutting off flesh and drawing blood were routine. They forced him to level up with high-level Crystal Core, nearly making his body explode. They even fed him an aphrodisiac and tried to make him do it with zombies… to see whether he could purify zombies and turn them back into humans.]
[The Villain is twenty now. By the time he escaped from the research institute, he was already thirty. He went straight to the dark side and joined the Zombie Faction, dedicating himself to destroying this rotten world. Honestly, if it were me, I would have turned dark too.]
I stared blankly at the bullet comments until something touched my hand. Only then did I come back to myself.
“Thank you,” Wen Yan said quietly.
I looked down and saw that he was handing the pack of compressed biscuits back to me.
There had been five pieces in total, and one was left.
When Wen Yan noticed me staring at the biscuits, his face slowly flushed.
“I’m sorry. I don’t usually eat this much… It’s just been too long since I last ate.”
“They’re all yours.” I withdrew my hand, took out two more antibiotic tablets, and tossed them to him. “After you finish eating, take the medicine. There’s a basin of water in the bathroom. Clean yourself up and change the sheets.”
“Stay here today and recover. You’re not allowed to go anywhere.”
With that, I turned and left.
I still had missions to do today. I had Crystal Core to earn.
But just in case, I locked the door from the outside.
