Chapter 3

Lu Ze’an struggled to sit up.

The instant our eyes met, there was actually a trace of hollow disappointment in his gaze.

Then he quickly turned his head toward the crowd gathered to watch the spectacle.

I knew it. He was looking for Shi Ruoxue.

Sure enough, his gaze landed on her.

His eyes lit up at once.

“Ruoxue, was it you who saved me just now?”

As expected, the heroine’s halo was just that powerful.

Even though Shi Ruoxue had taken the initiative to change the plot, Lu Ze’an still followed the predetermined track and identified her.

After all, she was the heroine. The true chosen one.

I had been through this kind of scene countless times already. I was numb to it by now.

With a bitter laugh in my heart, I tightened my grip on my soaked lapels and tactfully started to get up.

But Shi Ruoxue shoved me back down.

“Are you blind? My sister saved you.”

She shook out my dripping clothes and wrung out a handful of water.

“Look. This is all her surging, overwhelming love for you.”

Uh…

Why did she have to open her mouth?

But Lu Ze’an was still staring at her, his gaze burning.

“But I remember that in the lake just now, you were the one who saved me!”

From beginning to end, he didn’t spare me a single glance.

Inside, Shi Ruoxue screamed in collapse:

“Damn you, System! What the hell did you do?”

“I altered his memories. He’s convinced you were the one who saved him!”

“You… you have absolutely no shame! You actually cheated!”

“You think I wanted to? This takes a huge toll on me too, okay? If you were just a little more obedient, like all those other transmigrated women before you, would I have needed to resort to this?”

“Oh, shut up! I am an upstanding young person with proper values. I will never bow my head to evil forces like you!”

Furious, she stomped hard, then suddenly grabbed Lu Ze’an by the collar.

On the surface, she chuckled. Honestly, it was a little creepy.

“You’re Lu Ze’an, right? You fell into the lake, got water in your brain, and saw wrong.”

Lu Ze’an fell silent for a moment, then answered calmly:

“Ruoxue, I wouldn’t remember wrong. It really was you who saved me.”

I took Shi Ruoxue’s hand and gently shook my head.

We were nothing more than supporting characters in a book.

There was only plot in our hearts, no thoughts of our own.

Even our emotions could be tampered with.

The fact that she was willing to speak up for me was already enough to make me grateful.

I lowered my head and stood to the side, continuing to work myself into the right emotional state.

But my eyes only stung. No matter what I did, I couldn’t make myself hate her.

“How can we just let it go?”

Shi Ruoxue shouted, then raised her hand and slapped Lu Ze’an several times across the face.

She hit him until his mouth was full of blood.

“You dog of a man, look carefully! My sister saved you!”

“Open those dog eyes of yours and look! It was my younger sister, Shi Jinxin, who saved you!”

In her heart, she fumed with righteous indignation:

“Isn’t it just a stupid love-addled brain? This lady will dig it clean out of him! Let’s see how he manages to fall in love then!”

After she finished hitting him, she demanded sharply:

“Say it! Who saved you?”

Lu Ze’an had been slapped dizzy. Pitifully, he replied:

“Your younger sister, Shi Jinxin.”

“You’d better remember that. If you dare betray her, I’ll castrate you!”

Lu Ze’an nodded meekly, and when he looked at Shi Ruoxue, his eyes were full of terror.

Clearly, she’d scared him.

Forget him-even I had never seen a transmigrated woman like this before!

Why was she so violent?

And why was she somehow inexplicably kind of cute?

Wrong emotion!

I’m supposed to be the one who turns evil!

If she doesn’t steal my fiancé, how am I supposed to cause trouble?
