After dropping that line, Yan Lin dissolved into a wisp of black smoke and vanished.

A crowd immediately swarmed me, shoving armor and broadswords into my hands.

“Miss Cousin, try it on and see if it fits!”

Somehow, I ended up wearing a heavy suit of armor and shouldering an even heavier broadsword.

“What exactly are we doing?”

Fat Cat said, “The Lord gave the order. You’re coming with us to attack the Immortal Sect!”

“Oh, okay… Wait! Why are we attacking the Immortal Sect?”

Wasn’t the Immortal Sect my cousin’s own sect?

Had my cousin defected?

“Naturally, because the Lord and the Immortal Sect share a blood feud that cannot be resolved under the same sky!” Fat Cat declared, filled with righteous indignation.

I thought about it.

It had to be because my cousin had been bullied in the Immortal Sect.

Yan Lin said nothing.
