Did My Cousin Drop Her Disguise Today? - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I’d been unconscious for days when I woke.
I opened my eyes to see a fat calico cat holding a spoonful of soup to my mouth.
“Open up, ah~”
I rubbed my eyes.
Something’s off. Why is the cat so huge?
Then I glanced at the soup in the calico’s paw.
Centipede soup…
“May I ask where this is…?”
“The Seven Evils Sect, Cousin. Did you sleep silly?”
Seven Evils Sect? Not an Immortal Sect!
I leaped out of bed and rushed out the door to see demonic creatures flying all over the sky, and goblins and monsters scurrying across the ground…
The sky’s fallen-how did I end up under the Demon Clan?!
…
When the military advisor arrived, I was sneakily packing my bundle, ready to slip away.
“Cousin, what are you doing?” He seemed puzzled.
I quickly spun around, and only then noticed the long snake tail trailing behind him.
“Wha- what is it?”
“Oh, it’s like this,” the military advisor said. “The Lord needs a few days to heal. He said that once you’re awake, you’ll take charge and manage things on his behalf.”
“Me?”
Then how am I supposed to run?
The military advisor gave me an affirmative look.
“Right. No one is more qualified than you.”
“But I…”
“Should Cousin refuse, I’m afraid the Lord might suspect you… aren’t truly committed to our cause.”
As he spoke, his big tail rose up.
“Alright, alright, who said I’m unwilling? Look at you, getting all worked up again.”
I waved my hand. “Off you go. I’ll get ready and come right away.”
Just kill me now!
I changed into a black outfit that was in vogue among the Demon Clan and followed the military advisor out.
The Seven Evils Sect was teeming with monsters, so I had to fight hard to overcome my fear and not seem too terrified.
But after one walk-through, I found these monsters all quite friendly. Most just grinned with their big mouths when they saw me, and gradually I stopped being afraid.
However, when it came to “taking charge,” I had no clue. After racking my brain for ages, I decided to start by checking the kitchen.
The military advisor was baffled.
I retorted confidently, “I’ve been fighting all my life, can’t I enjoy myself a little?!”
With that, I briskly organized a grand banquet.
“Hey, does Cousin want some?” I asked.
The military advisor’s expression was disdainful. “The Lord feeds on the essence of heaven and earth. He has no need for such mundane food.”
“And you?”
“The same.”
Then never mind.
I ignored him and ate until my mouth was greasy.
I hadn’t eaten this well in ages-this place isn’t bad at all!
The monsters, cheeks stuffed, mumbled vaguely, “Military Advisor, come on! It’s really delicious!”
The military advisor silently swallowed his saliva.
After a while…
“Fine, I’ll give Cousin some face and reluctantly have a taste.”
And with that, he polished off ten big bowls.
