Chapter 90

In an instant, Karl and the bodyguards reacted simultaneously.

Gunshots echoed throughout the carriage.

Bullets rained down, their target aimed straight at Lu Ziyi, who was running toward the front carriage.

The Radiation Frogs did not attack her.

Under the cover of the Radiation Frogs, Lu Ziyi escaped into the First Class carriage, leaving behind a fresh pool of blood on the floor.

A corpse was hurled toward Gu Huaiwei. Without time to think, she quickly grabbed the nearby service robot and smashed it hard against the half-torn corpse flying at her.

“Bang!”

The corpse was shattered in midair by the robot, rotten flesh splattering everywhere.

[Damaged delivery robot. Fine: 200 Gold Coins. Fine ticket being issued–]

Flesh splattered onto Gu Huaiwei’s face. She wiped it off with the back of her hand, leaving a streak of blood.

However, more terrifying than the blood and flesh was the swarm of Radiation Frogs bursting out from inside the corpse.

Those disgusting little things were incredibly resilient, pouring out in dense waves, leaping from the corpse’s belly like a tide.

“There are just too many of them,” Karl shouted. “Don’t let their tongues touch you-their tongues are poisonous.”

[Number of invasive species in carriage surging.]

[High-Temperature Disinfection System activated–]

The Radiation Frogs surged forward like a tide, their bellies swollen and glowing. With each pulse, Gu Huaiwei could see the bright orange-yellow toxin inside their stomachs.

The Radiation Frogs leapt with incredible speed. Individually, their attack power was not strong, but there were too many of them. Once they landed on a person, they would crawl into mouths, ears, nostrils… even other orifices, and lay eggs inside the body.

Gu Huaiwei’s expression darkened. She pulled the trigger, precisely shooting down several Radiation Frogs that tried to pounce on her.

Bullets pierced their swollen bodies, blood mixed with venom splattering everywhere.

Soon, the High-Temperature Disinfection System inside the High-Speed Rail took effect. The Radiation Frogs’ movements gradually slowed, their skin began to char, and then they slowly melted into a mass of mush, falling from the air.

[High-Temperature Disinfection progress in this carriage: 70%, 80%… 100%. Disinfection complete.]

[Business Class cleared. First Class cleared…]

[Temperature lowering.]

[Initiating cleaning mode.]

The Cleaning Robots began to tidy up the carriage.

At this moment, a woman’s voice came through.

“Shopkeeper Gu, I must say, I’m impressed. Even after observing you for two months, I still haven’t figured out your habits.

I really didn’t expect that you wouldn’t get off the train even when facing Radiation Frogs. It seems you have even more confidence in this High-Speed Rail than I imagined.”

Tang Wushuang, now stripped of her disguise, clapped her hands and walked out from the front carriage. The Giant Steel Blade wrapped in bandages on her back was especially conspicuous.

Lu Ziyi had just been shot in the shoulder and was bleeding. She carried a glass box in her hand, inside which was the Radiation Mother Frog.

She turned to Tang Wushuang and said, “This High-Speed Rail might have mechanisms just like the Oasis Hotel. My brother suffered at her hands before. We need to be cautious!”

“With such a commotion, what are you trying to do?” Gu Huaiwei swept her gaze over the two in front of her, her voice turning cold. “There’s one more of you. Come out as well.”

Fang Weixing lifted his mask slightly, revealing part of his burned chin. He casually stuffed a piece of dried meat into his mouth, chewing slowly.

He stepped out from the shadows, casually flicking his Rapier. Two bodyguards’ corpses were hooked and tossed at Gu Huaiwei’s feet, like discarded trash.

“Your people, returned to you.” He smirked, his tone full of provocation. “We don’t really have any particular goal. We just want to invite the young lady to come back to the Third District with us, have a cup of tea, and chat.”

He Xueyi used his Feather Fan to block his nose, isolating himself from the stench. His glazed golden eyes flickered with interest as he looked at the troublemakers.

The more rotten the soul, the sweeter the fruit it can bear.

Gu Huaiwei hadn’t let him take action, so he suppressed the urge to plant trees in these people’s bellies.
He restrained his instincts, maintaining the image of a charitable, loving, and compassionate good person in front of Gu Huaiwei, not wanting to frighten the still-human Miss Gu with a momentary impulse.

Karl saw the two corpses on the ground, and his eyes instantly reddened. They were his old comrades, comrades who had risked their lives together and completed countless missions!

“Old friends! I’m the one who got you killed! I shouldn’t have called you here!”

He tried to rush toward the corpses.

“Don’t be impulsive!” Gu Huaiwei calmly reached out to stop Karl, her gaze fixed on the bodies. “Careful, the corpses are suspicious.”

Lu Ziyi had laced those two corpses with the neurotoxin of the Radiation Frog.

“Yes! Sorry… Miss Gu.” Karl realized his impulsiveness, halted his steps, clenched his fingers tightly, his eyes burning with grief and rage.

Lu Ziyi saw Karl stopped by Gu Huaiwei and couldn’t help but show a disappointed expression.

To breed these Radiation Frogs, she and her brother had lived a life in the Lower District that was neither human nor ghost, all for the day when she could repay the humiliation suffered at the Oasis Hotel a hundredfold.

As for admitting defeat earlier-

Hmph! She would never give up so easily.

Her armored vehicle, her father’s corpse, and all those lost Gold Coins-she would reclaim them all from Gu Huaiwei.

Fang Weixing stood leisurely to the side, enjoying Karl’s pained expression, then turned his gaze back to Gu Huaiwei’s face, his tone playful. “Originally, we planned to force you off the High-Speed Rail, but you’re so stubborn, you just wouldn’t get off.”

They knew this miraculous High-Speed Rail couldn’t be destroyed.

So, the original plan was to force Gu Huaiwei off the High-Speed Rail before making a move.

Unfortunately, Gu Huaiwei wasn’t afraid of those Radiation Frogs at all.

They could only choose to capture Gu Huaiwei alive on the High-Speed Rail.

Gu Huaiwei looked out at the pitch-black night outside the window, her voice unusually calm: “There must be more of your companions outside, right?”

Fang Weixing shrugged and chuckled, “You guessed right, but too bad there’s no prize.”

“Where’s Xiao Ai?” Gu Huaiwei asked.

“Who? Isn’t she among those corpses?”

“The short-haired girl with the Mechanical Arm.”

“Oh, her…” Fang Weixing pretended to think, then let out an unpleasant laugh from his throat. “Guess-alive or dead?”

Gu Huaiwei guessed in her heart that Xiao Ai was alive.

Because if Xiao Ai were dead or captured, they would definitely throw out her corpse to humiliate or threaten her.

They had teammates waiting outside.

There were only three of them on the High-Speed Rail, which meant they were very confident in their own strength.

Since that’s the case… she would take them down right here on the High-Speed Rail!

“He Xueyi.”

“Miss Gu, I’m here.” He Xueyi leaned close to Gu Huaiwei, his body slightly tilted, the smile at his lips deepening. “Any work arrangements?”

Gu Huaiwei sat back in her chair, her tone icy as she ordered, “Of the three, just leave one alive. Can you do that?”

If not, next time there’s a long trip, he’ll be replaced.

“Actually, I don’t advocate violence.” He Xueyi covered his lips with his Feather Fan, his silver-white hair falling over his forehead. “But since it’s Miss Gu’s order, I have no choice but to obey.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Fang Weixing and Tang Wushuang seemed to hear the funniest joke in the world. They exchanged glances and burst into mocking laughter.

Tang Wushuang picked up the Giant Steel Blade behind her, unwrapped the bandages, revealing the sharp edge, and pointed it at Gu Huaiwei with a force that could split the air: “Little girl, you’re so naive. Without the most advanced Security Robot from the hotel, do you really think a few bodyguards can beat us?”

“Who’s the hunter, and who’s the prey?” Gu Huaiwei took off her glasses, rubbed her nose where it had been pressed sore, and smiled dangerously. “Before the fight starts, who can say for sure?”
