I Bought the Villain Boss Home for 10,000 Yuan - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Looking at the man in the wheelchair, I couldn’t help but sigh with emotion. For over twenty years since I transmigrated into this book, I had lived diligently as a background character, carefully avoiding any plotlines involving the male and female leads. In the end, I ended up bringing home a villainous big boss.
The once-untouchable favored son of heaven had now been bought by me for just ten thousand yuan and taken home. After arriving home, he still refused to talk to me. In the tiny rented room, all that could be heard was my own chatter: “What’s your name? How old are you? Are you hungry? I’ll cook something for you, okay?”
He gave no answer at all, just kept his head lowered, staring motionless at his unresponsive legs. Seeing this, I had to step forward and lift his chin, looking into his dust-covered eyes as I asked word by word: “I said, are you hungry?”
He seemed surprised I would do this; his shocked pupils trembled, and after a moment he replied: “Gu Peisi, 27 years old.”
His voice was hoarse, like a rusty pocket watch, as if he hadn’t spoken in a long time. I paused before realizing he was answering my earlier questions, but he still hadn’t told me what he wanted to eat.
“Alright, Gu Peisi, if you won’t say, I’ll cook according to my own taste.”
“Right, my name is Xu Zhiyi, two years younger than you. I was born in the year of the rabbit.”
Using leftover rice from last night, I made a big pot of egg-fried rice, divided it into two bowls, and placed one before him. Gu Peisi didn’t even lift a finger, just turned his head away. He wouldn’t take it, so I kept holding it out. I don’t know how long it was, but when my hand trembled so much I could barely hold the bowl, he finally reached out and took it, setting it on the table beside him.
But he still didn’t eat, just silently hung his head. I got angry too: “Who are you sulking against? Are you a child? Fine, you won’t eat? Then I won’t either. I’ll learn from you and starve myself to death!”
He suddenly looked up, gave me a quick glance, then lowered his head again. That glance held confusion, shock, and surprise, but no trust. I kept my word, dragging my body-exhausted from two days of overtime-to stay up with him until late at night.
Just when my mouth turned sour and my stomach began to churn, the statue before me finally moved. He licked his dry, cracked lips and uttered in a hoarse voice: “Can you pour me a glass of water?”
I stood up, my body swaying uncontrollably. After steadying myself, I shook my head and looked down at him: “After drinking water, you’ll eat properly, understand?”
He nodded almost imperceptibly. Only then did I go out to boil a kettle of water, and on the way, I grabbed a straw and handed it to him. After he drank the water, he slowly began eating the greasy fried rice that had long since gone cold.
While eating, he watched me, and when he saw I wasn’t eating, he actually stopped scooping rice with his spoon. At that moment, he didn’t seem like a ruthless villain boss; more like a homeless kitten adopted but still insecure.
I sighed helplessly, snatched his bowl, poured the rice back into the pan, added some shredded pork, stir-fried it a few times, and returned it to him. “Alright, eat up. I’ll eat too.”
Gu Peisi held the bowl of shredded pork fried rice and pushed half of the pork shreds toward me. When I looked up at him, he lowered his head again, pretending nothing had happened.
This person, really awkward.
