Chapter 101

Hua Suihe couldn’t get through on the phone, making it impossible to ask for more details.

Seeing Ye Susheng lost in thought, Hua Suihe silently took her hand and said in a light tone, “It’s okay. Maybe they just look alike, just like me and Xia Moyi.”

Ye Susheng gave a nonchalant smile and replied, “It’s fine, Hua Hua. I don’t mind at all.”

Hua Suihe breathed a sigh of relief. She had been overthinking, worried that Ye Susheng would be upset…

“By the way, I’m going out tonight. Don’t worry if Hua Hua doesn’t see me when she wakes up, okay?” Ye Susheng’s voice was sweet and soft, her tone as casual as if she were just going out to buy groceries.

Hua Suihe’s brow twitched. Her intuition told her that Ye Susheng’s trip was related to this matter. After a moment of hesitation, she asked conflictedly, “Do you have to go?”

“What are you saying, Hua Hua?” Ye Susheng lied to her face with a faint smile. “I’m just going to the troupe to ask the leadership if they made a robot Puppet to take my shifts for me.”

Hua Suihe tilted her head and stared at her. Ye Susheng met her gaze without a hint of guilt until Hua Hua finally relented. “Then you must be careful while you’re out tonight.”

Ye Susheng was stunned for a moment. Her eyes brightened with a flood of affection, and her smile was as radiant as spring flowers. She pulled Hua Suihe into her arms, the night breeze tangling their hair together like a lingering embrace.

Ye Susheng kissed Hua Hua’s cheek and nuzzled her face with her nose. “Hua Hua doesn’t need to worry about me~ I’ll be back very soon.”

“I’ll sleep with Hua Hua. If Hua Hua wife sleeps until she wakes up naturally, she’ll see me the moment she opens her eyes~”

Hua Suihe carefully gripped the hem of her clothes. The knitted cardigan felt soft to the touch, and Hua Suihe didn’t dare pull too hard. After a moment’s thought, she wrapped her arms around her waist and gently rested her hands on her back, reminding her, “Don’t be gone too long. I’m waiting for you to come back and make breakfast.”

Ye Susheng’s arms tightened slightly. Her red eyes were filled with longing as she whispered, “Don’t worry, Hua Hua… I’ll be back soon…”

Once she dealt with that shoddy imitation, she would come home.

Yi Shuang was currently in a dungeon, where communication devices were normally not allowed to contact the outside world. The fact that she could call out meant she had used points to exchange for time. Thirty seconds was the limit; usually, this item was only used by players on the verge of death to call home and give their final words.

Yi Shuang had used it to call Hua Suihe and confirm Ye Susheng’s whereabouts. It was clear that the person she had encountered wasn’t just someone who happened to look like her.

The two returned home. Once Hua Suihe had showered and climbed into bed, Ye Susheng changed into her pajamas and lay down beside her.

Their breathing and heartbeats were close enough to touch, yet Hua Suihe uncharacteristically remained awake for a long time. Even though her eyes were closed, Ye Susheng seemed to sense she wasn’t asleep and lingered without leaving.

In the darkness, Hua Suihe opened her eyes.

Ye Susheng’s voice rang out at the same time. “Hua Hua, aren’t you sleepy? Did you sleep too much during the day?”

Ye Susheng usually didn’t need sleep. She spent her time in bed holding Hua Hua, feeling her breath and heartbeat, so she knew exactly whether Hua Hua was asleep or not.

Hua Suihe rolled over to face her, resting a hand on her waist. “I can’t really sleep knowing you’re about to leave.”

Ye Susheng spoke with immense patience. “Don’t be afraid, Hua Hua. Hua Hua will see me as soon as she wakes up.”

Hua Suihe snuggled into her arms silently, her mood seemingly a bit low.

Ye Susheng couldn’t guess exactly what was on Hua Hua’s mind, but she could sense her complicated emotions. She asked, “Should I read Hua Hua a story?”

Hua Suihe shook her head. “No need.”
She shifted her head on the pillow and sought out Ye Susheng’s lips, pressing against them. It was a simple touch of the lips, but a moment later, just as Ye Susheng was about to actively pry her teeth apart, Hua Suihe pulled back.

Hua Suihe withdrew the hand resting on Ye Susheng’s waist, rolled over to lie flat on the bed, and closed her eyes. “If you really must go, then leave now,” she whispered.

“Stay safe. Don’t get into any conflicts with others.” Hua Suihe’s voice grew softer as she turned her back to Ye Susheng. “I don’t want to see you only when I wake up and open my eyes. I want to see you back before I fall asleep, okay?” she mumbled.

Ye Susheng kissed a strand of her hair. “Then I’m heading out. Go to sleep when you’re tired, Hua Hua. Don’t wait up for me.”

The space behind her suddenly felt empty. Hua Suihe’s eyes darkened slightly. She reached out to touch her own neck, feeling the soft sensation of her skin, and Black Cotton Candy expertly kissed her fingertips.

Dressed in a black gown, Ye Susheng appeared in the middle of a desolate desert. The full moon in the sky was instantly shrouded in blood-red light. The girl’s red pupils resembled blooming spider lilies, and her white hair fluttered in the evening breeze as a black scythe condensed in her hand.

Ye Susheng moved with a leisurely pace, her figure flickering several times before she finally stood suspended in mid-air. With the blood moon as her backdrop, her scythe blocked out half the light of the sky.

This was the Desert Escape Dungeon. Only those who reached the end of the desert could leave, and there was no time limit.

‘Ye Susheng’ was the BOSS of this dungeon.

When Ye Susheng arrived, the ‘Ye Susheng’ below had sensed her immediately. However, the duplicate continued to kill her prey unhurriedly. The scent of blood excited her; she crushed a beating heart before finally looking up at the figure in the sky with a slow, deliberate gaze.

‘Ye Susheng’ raised an eyebrow, a provocative smile spreading across her lips. Black mist emerged from her body, transforming into a long whip. With a leap, she stood face-to-face with the God of Slaughter in the air.

Looking at the person before her who possessed the exact same figure and appearance, Ye Susheng’s eyes filled with concentrated malice. She swung her scythe toward the duplicate without hesitation, carrying a world-destroying killing intent as the pressure of her Psychic Power crashed down like a mountain-toppling wave.

‘Ye Susheng’ swung her whip, blocking the fatal strike, but was slammed downward by the Psychic Power. She landed steadily on the ground and casually wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, flicking her whip in a provocative gesture.

Even her voice was identical to Ye Susheng’s. “Where is Hua Hua?”

“Give Hua Hua back to-” Before she could finish, the scythe cleaved down toward her face. With a speed and pressure that allowed no room for evasion, it instantly tore ‘Ye Susheng’ in half.

The front of Ye Susheng’s black dress deepened in color as the scent of blood spread through the air. The scythe in her hand dissolved into black mist, enveloping the bifurcated figure and beginning to devour her.

‘Ye Susheng’s’ bloody aura still tried to solidify and restore her body, but it could not escape the confinement of the black mist.

An infatuated voice drifted out from the black mist. “Hua Hua! Hua Hua, Hua Hua, Hua Hua…”

“Shut up! Shut up!” The crimson in Ye Susheng’s eyes bled outward, her gaze shrouded in fury. The black mist accelerated its devouring speed like it had gone mad.

Ye Susheng’s voice was thick with rage, her killing intent skyrocketing. “Hua Hua is mine! She’s mine! You fakes… all of you, die!”

Intermittent sounds continued to leak from the black mist. “I am… Ye Susheng… I am the real…”

A moment later, the voice vanished completely. The mist dispersed; the job was done.

Ye Susheng stood still where she was. The black mist continuously pouring from her body gradually shrouded the moon above. A hurricane suddenly whipped up across the vast desert; the players scrambled to flee and hide. Those who were too slow were sucked directly into the gale, their fates unknown.

Yi Shuang pulled her companion along as they fled, cursing inwardly.

*This* was Ye Susheng. A total mad dog.
